The Abandoned Prince Heals an Enemy Soldier on the Frontlines, Only to Discover She’s the Seventh Imperial Princess - Chapter 31 Side - Hecton
Chapter 31: Side – Hecton
The people living in the royal capital had fallen into chaos.
No—
Not just the commoners. Even the soldiers and nobles were confused, unsure of what was going on.
It all started when the soldiers in charge of defending the capital thought their allies were being chased by the empire—
So they made a snap decision and opened the gates to let them in.
But those “allies” were actually rebels dressed as kingdom soldiers.
The moment the rebel army got inside, they launched their plan—
And within just one hour, they had taken control of all the key areas in the capital before the kingdom’s forces could even react.
Some soldiers did try to fight back, but the moment they saw the imperial wyverns flying overhead—
Their will to fight completely vanished.
There were barely any injuries.
And not a single death.
Later, history would record the event as the “Bloodless Conquest of Agarham.”
“Ugh, those incompetent fools!!”
King Hecton of Agarham stormed down the castle hallway, cursing under his breath.
Right now, hardly anyone truly understood what was going on in the capital.
And Hecton was no exception.
He had already ordered his soldiers to gather intel as quickly as possible,
But so far, no reports had come back.
There were rumors of intruders inside the royal castle itself—
But the guards here were elite, well-trained troops.
He was certain they’d handle the threat and return shortly.
Still…
There was no guarantee they’d hold out forever.
“In that case… I’ll need to escape with Mother.”
The first thing Hecton worried about was his own mother—Olivia.
She was still bedridden from her illness, and if things went south, there was a real chance she could be captured by the enemy.
Hecton had rushed to her room, planning to carry her on his back and escape through a secret emergency route passed down through the royal family.
But just as he reached for her door—
“Aaahn♡ N-Nooo♡ Not there—ahn♡”
From the other side, he heard his beloved mother’s voice—
Letting out moans more animalistic than anything he could’ve imagined.
Hecton froze in place.
He could also hear a man’s voice—one that sounded strangely familiar—
Along with a steady smack, smack rhythm.
His face pale, Hecton slowly pushed the door open and peeked inside.
“Peeking? That’s not very noble of you.”
“Uwah!?”
Right in front of the door stood a black-haired young girl, who immediately sprayed Hecton with poison.
It wasn’t deadly—
Just a paralytic toxin meant to freeze the target in place.
Hecton collapsed on the spot, unable to move.
The black-haired loli—Salion—grinned wickedly, clearly enjoying herself.
“Kukuku… So you’re the boy’s little brother.”
“W-What… did you… say…?”
“What? Can’t see from there? Then allow me to help—take a good look at the two lovers embracing on the bed.”
Salion grabbed Hecton by the hair and yanked him forward—
Forcing him to look at the scene playing out on the bed.
Two people, tangled together, bodies pressed close in the heat of passion.
The moment Hecton saw who it was—
He was struck speechless.
“Wha…”
The woman tangled in bed was none other than Hecton’s beloved mother.
And the man with her—
Was the one person in the world Hecton hated more than anyone else—his older brother.
The two of them were completely caught up in the moment, too lost in each other to even notice Hecton was there.
“M-Mother—!”
“Now, now. My future husband looks like he’s having fun. Don’t go ruining it.”
“Mmgh!?”
Salion silenced him by stomping on his head, pinning him to the floor.
Rage boiled up inside Hecton.
He had never been called a talented child—not even once.
He was born as a backup, just in case something happened to his brother.
And the only people who ever approached him were ones hoping to ride his status for power.
But nothing ever happened to his brother.
No matter how many assassins came after him, he always came out without a scratch, smiling like it was nothing.
Their father called it a divine blessing, and showered the older brother with love and attention—
But to Hecton, that brother of his felt like something unnatural… almost inhuman.
Being born as a replacement for that monster was something Hecton could never accept.
The only person who ever told him he wasn’t just a spare—
Was his mother, Olivia.
One day, she suddenly declared that Hecton would become king.
He had believed in her with all his heart.
Convinced she truly saw him as more than just his brother’s shadow.
That she was the only one on his side.
So then—
Why?
Why was she lying there, looking like a woman, eyes full of passion…
With the brother he hated most?
Beside him, Salion chuckled darkly.
“Kukuku… That’s quite the face you’re making. Your one and only ally… the person you trusted most… Showing her soft, womanly side to the very man you despise. Must be painful, hmm?”
“D-Don’t… don’t mock me…! Get away from my mother—right now—!”
“You really don’t learn, do you?”
In the next instant—
Hecton’s consciousness was wiped out completely.
As he passed out, he reached a trembling hand toward the mother he adored.
But Olivia, completely lost in the moment with the brother he hated most, never even noticed him…
◆
While I was caught up in the heat of the moment with Olivia, it turned out—
Hecton had somehow shown up.
Seriously, when did that even happen?
Apparently, Salion had already caught him.
Meaning… mission complete.
“Hmm… well, I guess we’ll just keep him tied up for now. Wait—does this mean we actually took over the capital while I was having sex with Olivia?”
“Seems that way. Let’s leave the rest of the messy stuff to Alcarion and get back to enjoying ourselves.”
And just like that—
The royal capital of the Agarham Kingdom fell.
I was crowned as king in name only, and the kingdom itself was officially absorbed into the Dragoon Empire.
Among the regional lords who had governed various territories, those who hadn’t caused problems were allowed to keep their positions.
As for the ones who had caused trouble—they were stripped of all authority in one swift move.
There were a bunch of other complicated political matters too, but…
Alcarion handled all of them for me.
So, no problem there.
That included everything related to Olivia as well.
When I asked, Alcarion arranged for her to be granted imperial citizenship—
And made sure she stayed by my side as my personal attendant.
But of course, just when things were settling down… another issue popped up.
“What!? Hecton escaped!?”
Apparently, Hecton—who had been imprisoned in the former capital, now just a local city under the empire—had broken out.
From what I heard, someone had snuck in and helped him escape.
Looks like things are far from over…
But I’ll worry about that later.
Right now, there’s something more important I need to take care of.
That’s right—
My wedding with Rosemary, Alcarion, and the others!!
Now that the war with the kingdom was over, it was time to hold the long-awaited wedding ceremony.
