Chapter 14: The Abandoned Prince Reunites with His Ex-Fiancée
It had been a few days since Alcarion went on a rampage through the imperial capital.
Right now, reconstruction efforts were underway across the city.
Naturally, the citizens demanded an explanation for the sudden appearance of the massive white dragon at the heart of the capital.
Alcarion, without batting an eye, casually explained:
“The Minister of War tried to stage a coup and resurrected an evil dragon.”
That was the entire explanation.
Apparently, the people didn’t realize that the white dragon was Alcarion herself, so they just believed it was part of the Minister of War’s scheme.
And since Alcarion had already executed the Minister of War, it tied up the story nicely.
Basically, she had dumped all the blame on the guy she had already killed.
When Alcarion announced this to the public, the High Elf Prime Minister standing next to her gave her a look like, “Did she seriously just pull that off?”
…By the way, that High Elf Prime Minister was ridiculously gorgeous.
I’d really like to chat with her sometime.
Anyway, despite all the chaos, the capital was back to normal in just a month.
Hard to believe, right? But the Dragoon Empire is a multi-racial nation.
Elves, dwarves, and beastfolk all worked together to rebuild the city at a ridiculous speed.
Plus, the empire even had earth dragons that functioned like living bulldozers and dump trucks, so the whole process was incredibly efficient.
That said—
Things hadn’t fully returned to normal just yet.
“A-Alcarion? Think you could… maybe let go of me soon?”
“No. My dear will remain in my arms for the next hundred years or so.”
“I’ll turn into a skeleton, though…”
Since the day Alcarion went on her rampage, she had been holding me non-stop.
Eating, sleeping, handling political affairs—she did all of it while clinging to me.
And she kept stroking my hair. Constantly.
At this rate, I was seriously worried about going bald.
Come to think of it, the previous king of Agarham—my father—was bald.
…No, no. I refuse to believe that’ll happen to me.
My body’s growth has been weirdly stagnant for some reason, so I should be fine.
Still, just to be safe, I should probably start practicing how to use Perfect Regeneration to regrow hair.
Just in case.
While I was busy getting stroked in Alcarion’s personal chambers, Rosemary walked into the room.
“Mother.”
“…Yes, Rosemary?”
“I understand you don’t want to let go of Reyshel, but enough is enough. Taking him with you to the bathroom and even the toilet is seriously going too far.”
“But he seems happy. And you were quite into it as well, Rosemary.”
“T-That’s… true, but…”
Ah, yeah. It was amazing.
Doing stuff together in the bathroom and even the toilet? Completely forbidden territory—and ridiculously exciting.
At first, Rosemary was super embarrassed.
But after seeing Alcarion getting all clingy with me, her competitive streak flared up.
…Threesomes are the best.
“More importantly, Rosemary. It’s currently training time for the Dragoon Knights. If you’re here instead, that means you have business with Reyshel, right?”
“Ah—yes, that’s right. Actually… Reyshel has a visitor.”
Wait… A visitor?
For me?
For a second, I thought maybe it was one of my subordinates from the medics.
But Rosemary knew their faces too.
If it were them, she wouldn’t have bothered coming all the way here to tell me.
“Who could it be? I haven’t really left the castle since I got here, so I don’t know that many people…”
“Well… She claims to be Reyshel’s former fiancée.”
“—Huh!?”
“She’s got a pretty arrogant attitude. And her description matches what you told me about your ex-fiancée.”
Ah—yeah, that made sense.
“Hmm… I guess I should meet her, right?”
“Do you not want to?”
“I mean… things got a little complicated back then, but we got along pretty well. It’s not like I hate her or anything…”
My former fiancée—Eliza Bane Andred.
The eldest daughter of the Duke of Andred, and a notorious troublemaker known throughout the Agarham Kingdom.
A prodigy in both magic and combat, she once dominated every category in the kingdom’s martial arts tournament.
On top of that, she was incredibly sociable, and had a large group of admirers.
For some reason, I was the one she took a romantic interest in.
“I mean… back then, I was happy about it. But now that I have Rosemary and Alcarion, things feel a little… awkward. Not that she necessarily still has feelings for me.”
“No, she definitely still likes you.”
“Huh? How do you know?”
“Women’s intuition.”
Ah, right. Women’s intuition.
Better not underestimate that.
And just as I was thinking that—
“Pardon me, but I’m coming in!!“
A blonde beauty with long ringlet curls suddenly marched into the room.
She looked more mature than when I last saw her, but that face was unmistakable.
And her figure… had filled out in all the right places.
Her chest, which used to be modest, had grown significantly—not as large as Rosemary or Alcarion’s, but still very impressive.
Her waist was slender and tightly shaped.
It had been five years since I last saw her, so it was only natural that she had changed…
But the transformation was so dramatic that I was genuinely shocked.
“Eliza… right?”
“My!! It’s been quite some time, hasn’t it, Lord Reyshel? You haven’t changed at all… Actually, you don’t seem to have grown much either!!”
…Yeah, she was still as blunt as ever.
“H-How dare you!? This is Her Majesty’s private chamber!!”
“Oh my, is that so?”
Rosemary drew her sword and pointed it at Eliza, clearly not amused by the sudden intrusion.
But Eliza didn’t seem fazed at all.
Instead, she calmly offered a polite apology for barging into the private chambers of the Empress.
“My apologies. I simply followed Lord Reyshel’s scent.”
…My scent? What are you, a dog?
Alcarion gave Rosemary a subtle look, prompting her to lower her sword.
“I will overlook your rudeness this time. Now then… what business do you have with my dear—with Reyshel?”
“Ah, yes!! Today, I’ve come to marry Lord Reyshel!!”
“…I see.”
…Wait.
What?
WHAT!?
“Wait—w-what are you talking about? Didn’t you already marry Hecton?”
“Oh, no need to worry!! I’ve made sure to stay pure for you!!”
“That’s not the issue!! That’s not what I meant!!”
“Ah!! How careless of me! Rest assured—I’ve thoroughly prepared myself for any and all types of play!! Roleplay, S&M—you name it!! Ah, but cuckolding is a no-go. I have no intention of letting anyone but Lord Reyshel touch my body—”
Eliza’s rapid-fire rant showed no signs of stopping.
Once she got like this, it was almost impossible to get her to shut up.
Just as I was wondering how to stop her—
Shing!
Rosemary drew her sword again.
“Leave. Now, Duchess of Andred.”
“Oh my?”
“Reyshel is already my man. If you intend to take him back, I won’t hold back.”
“…Oh?”
Hearing Rosemary say that made my heart skip a beat.
Damn… that was kinda hot.
No—this is NOT the time to be thinking about that!!
“Wait, stop!! You two can’t start a fight here—!!”
“Enough, Rosemary.”
“…!”
The tension in the air was seconds away from exploding—
But Alcarion’s single command made Rosemary freeze in place.
And then, Alcarion continued.
“Since we have the opportunity… why don’t we turn this into an event and wager my dear boy?”
“!?”
“Oh my, may I ask for the details?”
“If you win, you get to marry my dear. If Rosemary wins, she gets to have him all to herself for an entire day.”
“I’m in!!”
DON’T AGREE TO THAT!!
Rosemary and I were both stunned by Alcarion’s sudden, completely ridiculous suggestion.
Meanwhile, Alcarion looked as calm as ever.
“A-Alcarion, isn’t this going a bit too far…?”
“Y-Yes!! Treating Reyshel like some kind of prize—that’s just—”
“Victory solves everything. And I can’t imagine any daughter of mine entering a battle with the intent to lose.”
“…Hmph.”
Rosemary’s fighting spirit flared up immediately at Alcarion’s taunt.
Wait… this was starting to spiral out of control.
“H-Hey, Alcarion… this really isn’t—”
“Ah, I suppose I should tell you something first.”
“Huh?”
“Just so you know—”
After hearing Alcarion’s explanation, I nodded.
“Okay!! Let’s do this!!”
“I’ll face you fair and square!!”
“That’s the spirit!! Bring it on!!”
And just like that—
Rosemary and Eliza’s duel was officially set for the same day.
