Chapter 11: The Abandoned Prince Gets Rescued
The rhythmic clack-clack of wheels rolling along the tracks jolted me awake.
I found myself inside a train.
Not a regular passenger car, though—this was a transport vehicle for livestock. The floor was covered in straw, and the air was thick with the scent of animals.
That explained the faint beastly odor lingering around.
“Where… is this? Sure I was…”
“Oh? Finally woke up, huh?”
A voice I didn’t recognize caught my attention, and I turned toward the source.
She was beautiful.
A young woman with slightly messy, shoulder-length indigo hair. Something about her seemed familiar.
I couldn’t make out her eye color.
Not because it was too dark—but because her eyes were practically closed, just thin slits that barely revealed anything.
More importantly, though, she stank.
“Ugh… The smell of alcohol is insane…”
Even though she wasn’t sitting right next to me, the stench was so strong I instinctively covered my nose.
A quick glance at her hand confirmed my suspicions—she was gripping a bottle of alcohol.
“Oh, wanna drink too~? This one’s my absolute favorite! It’ll get you wasted real fast, I swear~!”
“Uh… I’ll pass. More importantly, where are we? And who are you?”
“We’re on a train~! No clue where it’s headed, though. I was drinking at my favorite bar ‘til I blacked out, and when I woke up, I was here! Haha, what a mystery! Also, I, uh, kinda don’t remember who I am either. Crazy, right? Tahaha~”
…Drunks were such a hassle.
“Just kidding~! So don’t look at me with such cold eyes, alright? But hey, isn’t it proper manners to introduce yourself first before asking someone else’s name?”
“Well, I suppose that’s true. I’m Reyshel.”
The moment I said my name, the drunk woman, who had been just about to take another swig from her bottle, suddenly froze.
Then, she silently set the bottle down and turned to look at me.
For the first time, her usually closed eyes opened slightly, revealing deep indigo irises that stared at me intently.
They almost seemed to glimmer faintly…
“Hmm, so you’re the one everyone’s talking about… I see, I think I get the gist of why you were kidnapped this time. This is turning into quite the mess.”
“…Huh?”
“Oh, nothing~! Anyway, my name’s Ailynn. You can just call me Ai~!”
“Ah, I see. Nice to meet you, Ai.”
“O-Oh. Wow, you actually called me that right away? No hesitation?”
She was the one who told me to call her Ai in the first place.
“Well, until help arrives, the three of us should get along, alright~?”
“…Three of us?”
“Oh? You haven’t noticed yet? Look, right next to you~!”
Only after she pointed it out did I finally realize.
Someone was clutching my sleeve, sleeping peacefully beside me.
“O-Oh… that’s… cute…”
A young girl, as pure and angelic as one could be, was peacefully asleep.
Her emerald-green hair had gentle waves at the ends, giving her a soft, delicate appearance.
The real problem, though, was her outfit.
She was wearing what you’d call a negligee—a sheer, nightgown-like sleepwear that left very little to the imagination.
On such a youthful-looking girl, it felt dangerously inappropriate—like something that should be illegal.
“Uh… so, was she kidnapped too?”
“Probably~. She’s always asleep, so I bet it was super easy to snatch her up~.”
“You know her?”
“Know her? She’s my little sister~! Cute, right? Just like me~!”
“…Your sister. Your sister!?”
Wait, this drunk woman was related to this angelic little girl!?
“Huh? Why do I feel like you just reacted in an incredibly rude way?”
“A-Ah, no, I-I’m sorry. You just don’t… look alike.”
“Eh, can’t be helped. We’ve got different dads.”
Sounded like she had a more complicated family situation than I expected.
Not wanting to pry too much, I decided to stay quiet so I wouldn’t wake up the girl.
But just as I was settling down—
“Hey, hey. So, do you have a girlfriend or what~?”
Ailynn suddenly grinned and threw out a completely random question.
And she was loud.
What if the sleeping angel next to me woke up?
Dealing with a drunk was already tiring enough, but ignoring her wasn’t an option either.
Figuring it’d be easier to just go along with the conversation, I let out a small sigh and replied.
“I do. Not to brag, but I have two incredibly gorgeous wives. And just to be clear, they’re not just girlfriends—they’re my wives.”
“Ohh, so you’re two-timing? What a cheater~.”
“It’s official. And I love both of them seriously, so it’s not cheating.”
“Hmmm~? What kind of women are they~?”
“Eh? Well, let’s see…”
Ailynn didn’t know them, so a little bragging wouldn’t hurt, right?
If I tried to gush about them to my subordinates, they’d probably try to hack my sword off, but I just wanted to properly show off my wives.
“First off, they’re both tall, and they have really big chests.”
“Uwah, typical guy. You’re the worst.”
“Hey, it’s important. Looks matter more than you’d think.”
First impressions are mostly based on appearance, and once someone gets an idea of you, it’s hard to change it.
I was drawn to them at first because of their looks, but that didn’t mean I loved them for just that. Their personalities made them even better.
“They’re both incredibly kind, fun to talk to, and never boring to be around. Also, they’re really passionate at night, so I have no complaints there either.”
“Ohhh? I’m surprised Rosemary is the passionate type.”
…Huh?
Wait a second.
I never mentioned Rosemary’s name, did I? How did she know?
…Hmm.
“And how would you describe the two of them from a family’s perspective?”
“Hmm… Mama’s always expressionless, but she’s got a fun side. Rosemary’s the serious type. Honestly, I never thought Rosemary would actually get marri— Ah.”
I see. That explains it.
I knew she looked familiar.
“Nice to meet you, Sister-in-law. I’m Reyshel, your new brother-in-law. Oh wait, I guess I’m also your stepfather now.”
“I’m fine with ‘brother-in-law,’ but stepfather? Yeah, no thanks.”
“Then why didn’t you say anything? You acted like you didn’t know and kept asking me about them.”
“Well, wouldn’t you be worried if your mom and little sister were being tricked by some shady guy? But now I get it—you really do love them.”
…Hmm.
Now that I think about it, wasn’t I kind of an awful person just now?
“Uh, I mean, yeah, I do find them attractive, but that’s not the only reason I love them, you know?”
“Ahh, yeah, yeah, I get it. No worries. I’ve got sharp eyes—I can tell you’re not that kind of guy.”
“Phew.”
At least she didn’t think I was some sleazy guy only after their bodies.
I mean, let’s be real, I do think they’re incredibly sexy.
But that’s not all there is to it.
Rosemary secretly loves cute things like plushies, which is just adorable. And despite Alcarion’s expressionless face, she’s actually really emotional, making every conversation with her fun.
It’s not just about their bodies.
“Wait… so does that mean this little angel over here is also my sister-in-law now?”
“Hmm? Ah—nope, nope. We’re actually a family of seven sisters. And, well… let’s just say, mentally, she might be a bit different, but in terms of actual years lived, she’s older than you and Rosemary. So technically, she’d be more like your older sister.”
…Seriously?
Wait, hold on!! This girl is older than Rosemary!?
I was kinda hoping she’d call me big brother or something, but…
Then again, having a loli angel big sister might not be so bad either.
“…You do remember that I can read your thoughts, right?”
“Huh!?”
“Well, I don’t really mind, but—ah, it’s almost time. Rey, you might wanna move a little closer.”
“…What?”
“Ahh, don’t worry about it, just come here.”
“Wait, hold on—why are you so strong!?”
Without warning, Ailynn suddenly stood up and yanked me forward with surprising force.
But… she was still drunk.
Even though she was petite, carrying not just her own weight but also the angelic older sister still clinging to me was apparently too much for her wobbly legs to handle.
And so, we all toppled over.
“Whoops, my bad~. —Oh?”
“Uh… so, um, you’re, uh, unexpectedly well-endowed.”
Just to be clear, I did not do it on purpose.
I had instinctively reached out for something to grab onto, and it just so happened to be Ailynn’s melons.
It was purely an accident.
“Hey now, calling it unexpected is pretty rude. I may not look it, but I’ve got a great figure, you know~!”
The closer she was, the stronger the scent of alcohol.
But seeing her up close, she really was stunning.
She looked a little like Alcarion—probably because she was her daughter.
Just as I was thinking that—
Ailynn suddenly shifted, flipping our positions and pinning me beneath her.
I was completely caught off guard.
“W-Wait! I’m a married man!?”
“!? No, no, that’s not what this is!! You’ve got it all wrong!!”
Right then, the roof of our train car exploded, and a massive shadow loomed over us.
A wyvern?
And from its back, a strikingly familiar figure leapt down in front of me.
“Reyshel! Are you alright!?”
“Ah, Rosemary!!—Mmmph!?”
“Thank goodness, you’re safe!! Don’t make me worry like that, you idiot!!”
“O-Oh… so soft…”
Before I knew it, my face was buried in Rosemary’s ample chest.
It was really soft. But also, kinda hard to breathe.
“Wow, look at you two, all lovey-dovey~. You do realize if I hadn’t pushed you out of the way, you’d be a pancake under that wyvern, right? And now you’re ignoring your savior?”
“Ah—!”
“!? Wait, why is Ailynn here!? And… the one next to her is Clyne!?”
Oh. So Angel Big Sis’s name was Clyne.
Even her name was adorable.
“Right! That’s not important right now!! Reyshel, we don’t have time!! We need to get back to the Imperial Capital immediately! We have to stop Mother!!”
“Huh? Alcarion?”
“It’s an emergency!! I’ll explain on the way!! Ailynn, carry Clyne!!”
“Wait—whoa!?”
Before I could react, Rosemary scooped me up into a princess carry and jumped onto the wyvern.
And just like that, we took off into the sky.
