Chapter 8
Those Dark Pasts that follows me
Brought to you by Noir
(Change of POV: Haruyama Miya)
“A~aah”
Miya was screamed while sprawling on her bed.
“U-UUUnnnggg.”
The memories of Arizuki during her childhood days were not only nostalgic and glorious but it was also a gnawing murder weapon striking right into Miya’s heart.
When I am reminded of my cheeky attitude and tomboyish behaviour that was excused because I was still a kid, when I started remembering that now as an adult it feels like my face would breathe out fire due to embarrassment.
However, Miya is not a cheeky brat anymore, rather she has become shy and attends school as a quiet and serious girl. She believes that this is her true character.
“U~wa~aa.”
She presses her bright red face against the pillow.
While kicking the air, Miya experienced embarrassment which she had never felt before. Becoming thoroughly hurt by those agonising dark pasts, she came back to her present state of mind.
“U-uugh.”
The fact that Yuuzuki has returned is in itself a reason for celebration. It would be a lie to say that Miya wasn’t infuriated at the fact that he had not even come back once in these ten years. But even if I hold some grudges on that matter, it won’t benefit even in the slightest. Let’s just honestly rejoice his return.
“Yuu-nii …after ten years.”
I was astonished when I bumped into Arizuki at the train station.
My heart fluttered instantly at the sight of the man who looked almost the same as he was 10 years ago when he left for Tokyo.
However, he didn’t seem to recognise me at all.
Even after he dropped his wallet at the train station, I myself went to deliver it to him, yet he didn’t seem to recognise me.
Does he even remember me in the first place?
I have grown a lot from being an elementary grade student to a high-school student, so even though it is a billion times more possible for him to not recognize me, however, it is surely impossible for him to forget about me completely.
Although we have moved and are no longer neighbours, I can still meet him whenever I visit their cafe ‘Moon Night Terrace’.
I will go to their cafe Moon Night Terrace again tomorrow.
“I’m so glad you’re back, Yuu-nii. It’s been a long time.”
If I tell him that, everything will be resolved at once…
It’s just a matter of time.
The nasty dark history and my introverted personality was preventing me from greeting him.
Bottom line, I’m not brave enough, moreover I am embarrassed…
(There’s no way I can say all that to him by myself.)
However, I really want to start talking to him again.
But, I just hope he’ll recognise me before I introduce myself.
