Chapter 16
How well do they fit together?

(POV: Arizuki Yuu)

“Here, your espresso.”
“Thank you very much. Yuu-san. You’ve started working here.”
“Eh, ah, yeah.”
Sitting on the terrace facing the street, a beautiful girl was enjoying a cup of coffee under the afternoon sun.
It’s so picturesque. If you just take a picture of this scene and trace it, you’ll have a masterpiece that everyone will appreciate.
The beautiful girl glances at me and smiles.
“The weather is nice today. It’s warm and pleasant.”
“Yeah, it seems so.”
“I don’t mind if you don’t use formal honorifics. Anyway, I’m younger than you.”
“By the way, you said before that if I can guess your name, … you’d do whatever you are asked to… what do you mean by that.”
“I mean that as I had worded it. You can ask me to do anything you’d want me to do just for you.”
The beautiful girl stood up and stepped toward me while saying it.
A sweet, gentle scent tickles my nostrils.
The smell was so good that I was carried away by it for a moment.
“Eh– um, just a m—”
She puts her index finger on my chest and says:
“I’ll ~ do~ anything~, anything~ for~ you~, okay~?”

(POV change to Miya)
Fufufu~ he’s getting conscious. He is indeed getting unwantedly conscious. It’s a little embarrassing, but if I can get to see Yuu-nii’s flustered face, I can endure it with that.
When will he notice? What would his reaction be after knowing it’s me? Just imagining that makes me feel incredibly thrilled.
“Well, there’s something I want him to see today.”
While saying so, Miya returned to her seat and pulled something out of her bag.
It is amusing to play around with his dull understanding. However, the ultimate goal is to get him to realize who I actually am. However, I have been well familiar with Arizuki Yuu’s dumbness since my childhood days. Thus, I will have to give him hints by letting him sniff it through me from time to time.
“That is?”
Arizuki peeks at my hand.
“I’ve been reading into horoscopes lately.”
Miya had taken out an incredibly shady book on horoscopes.
The cover features the faces of old-fashioned spiritual celebrities, with words like ‘destiny’ and ‘mysticism’ written in big letters naturally.
Although, she believes in horoscopes only half-heartedly. Instead, in fact, she is a strong skeptic. This primary use for this horoscope reading book was only as an effective weapon against Arizuki because—-
“Yuu-san, when is your birthday?”
“Birthday? It’s on October 2nd.”
“So you’re a Libra. By the way, I was born on June 25th. I am cancer.”
(Nice!)
Miya was casually able to shift the topic to birthdays and succeeded in telling her birthday to Yuu.
This may sound trivial, but it is a really strong hint. As a child, Miya had memories of celebrating her birthday every year with Yuu-nii until he moved to Tokyo.
It’s not that common to meet someone whose birthday is on the same day as someone else. The date, June 25th = was the birthday of the little brat, Haruyama Miya, who resided next door to him. This must be input into Yuu-nii’s brain by now.
(Maybe he’ll notice with this one?)
I wonder how Yuu-nii would respond to this.
“Heh, I see.”
So underwhelming!
What’s with that faint reaction?
He had a face telling, ‘Do you believe in such childish stuff like horoscopes?’
No, instead, please notice.
Didn’t you give me a heart-shaped hairpin when I was in first grade?
I still have it kept with me with a lot of care, you know?
If you want I can wear it and come tomorrow.
(Gununu)
[TL: pouting? In her head?]
As I had expected, he is a tough one to crack.
Once again, Miya recognized the supremacy of Aritzuki’s dumb character.

(POV change back to Arizuki Yuu)
I don’t know why, but that beautiful girl is staring right at me.
What? Did my face make an expression saying, ‘Do you believe in such childish stuff like horoscopes’?
Oh crap, I have to pretend to be interested in this horoscope thing unless I really want to offend her.
“Ah, see, there is a page that shows the compatibility between two individuals.”
I said as I opened the table of contents page.
“Let’s take a look— well, jokin…”
“Sure, let’s do it.”
Her mood seems to have gotten better. I hastily turn the pages.
I’m sure it’s just a lot of superficial stuff, as books like this tend to be anyway. Now how is the compatibility between Libra and Cancer, as per the book.
“The compatibility between a Libra boy and a Cancer girl is 90%.”
“Seriously?!”
“He~h…hehe he.”
‘Undoubtedly, the couples who were loved by God. Their chemistry in almost everything is off the charts! Nothing is standing in your way. If there is, it can only be what you overcame before you got together. In other words, you will be able to connect even deeper as you overcome greater obstacles together!’
I knew only superficial stuff was written here. However, to have 90% love compatibility with such a beautiful girl does not feel that bad. In fact, I have a good chance with her… Nope, I am definitely not a lolicon.
“Ehehe, it’s par ninety percent.”
Even the opposite part doesn’t seem particularly satisfied.
But the hindrance will still be her name, won’t it?
Yeah, it certainly is a hindrance.
The name is the most important personal information in order to have a better understanding of her. Without knowing it, I cannot expect to develop any sort of relationship with her.
After finishing her espresso, the beautiful girl says:
“Okay, then, let’s hear your deduction for today.”
“Ah— UNn…”
I don’t even have enough information to deduce the answer at this stage.
I still have no choice other than to rely on guesswork.
“Let’s see… How about Kotomori Reiko?”
“It’s wrong.”
“I guessed so.”
“Now, for the penalty.”
She reaches into her bag. What she brought out was a signing pen.
“Eh? Are you serious?”
“Don’t worry, it’s water-based.”
While stifling her laughter, the beautiful girl runs her pen on my face.
“Ugghhh, even without looking into the mirror, I can guess those words.”
“Do tell Uncle and Auntie that the coffee was delicious. Goodbye then.”
Thus, after receiving the title “Meat” as payment for the espresso, I went back inside the store.
