After swiftly killing the Shadow Wolf member, I handed the body over to Ui. She gave a cheerful “Okaaay~” and had the corpse swallowed up by a dimensional distortion. The distortion spread, centered on the wall. But nothing appeared.

“All clean~!”

Ui chirped, clearly in a great mood. So here was the trick. We used teleportation magic to relocate the corpse into the wall. That way, the corpse would never be found. It was a ridiculously simple method.

If the building was ever demolished, it’d probably be a scene of hellish screams, but then again, the Werewolf was infamous for their brutal business practices, never seeing humans as fellow humans. No big moral difference here.

Following the instructions from the gang member, we climbed the stairs, quickly killed any enemies we encountered, buried them in the walls, and made our way to the target room. I listened carefully. Voices—there were people inside.

I gave a silent signal with my eyes to Shachimaruu and Ui, then gently opened the door just a crack.

“Fwaah ha ha ha ha! I’m finally starting to feel like I can settle in!”

Peeking through the crack, I saw what I’d once seen before—a huge guy draped in a wolf pelt, the Wolf King, lounging deep into a sofa.

“That’s right. We’ve got money, we’re armed, and business is back on track using our old contacts. And this time, we even have a secret weapon.”

The reply came from a slender woman with black hair streaked with silver—the number two under the Wolf King. What was her name again? No clue. I never remembered it. I shifted my angle to get a better look. Sure enough, there it was—a massive safe sitting inside the room.

“That’s the one.”

“I see it too.”

“Wow, it’s huuuuge…!”

We whispered to each other quietly. Then the Wolf King let out a sigh.

“But it’s not enough. I won’t be satisfied with just this, Silver Wolf.”

Ah, right—Silver Wolf. That was her name. Silver Wolf followed up after the Wolf King.

“I know, I know. We’ve got something we have to accomplish. That’s right—”

With hatred burning in their eyes, the Wolf King and Silver Wolf declared:

“We won’t rest until we’ve annihilated that shitty Everyday Items Master!”

Shachimaruu and Ui turned their gazes toward me. I made an expression of deep disgust.

“That sniveling little twig and those bratty girls who think they’re hot shit! We’re gonna torture them so bad, they’ll wish they were never born!”

“Hahaha! Even those damn brats won’t last when we send multiple SS-class monsters after them at once! I can’t wait to see them cry and scream!”

The Wolf King and Silver.Wolf roared with laughter. As I started to stand, Shachimaruu frowned and said,

“Aniki, hold it. Even if we don’t issue an order, those two have set up a trigger for summoning the SS-class monsters. If we kill them now, it’ll lead to a direct confrontation.”

“So I can’t, huh? I was hoping we could kill them quickly and have Ui teleport us out—bury the bodies and make a clean getaway.”

I was getting impatient, wanting to just get it over with, but Shachimaruu looked troubled.

“The SS-class monsters will dig their masters out from inside the walls. Even dead, they’ll still serve them loyally.”

“They will?”

“Monsters that’ve been tamed stay loyal even after their master’s death. They’ll retrieve the corpse, hand it off to allies, and get them revived. If that happens, it’ll be even harder to deal with them next time.”

“But… What if we sent them far away?”

“That time, Tacchan got punted into space by the Creepy Creepy Bug-san’s self-destruction move, remember? Sending someone directly into space is… Even Ui-chan can barely pull that off~.”

No matter how we sliced it, we were down to two options: confronted the SS-class monsters head-on, or dealt with the safe the proper way. A direct confrontation would be the last resort. We had to start with the easier route. Just as I was thinking that, the two in the room stood up.

“Time for the next phase. Let’s go, Silver Wolf.”

“I know, I know.”

We all looked to Ui. Without being told, she clung to us and activated the dimensional distortion to transport us. 

We returned to the ruins where we’d hidden the car. I instructed the Ferocious Shark Gang members to get ready and gave them the new coordinates for the car’s position while we retrieved the wires.

Then we went back to the now-vacant room once occupied by the Wolf King and Silver Wolf.

“Alright! Let’s do this!”

“Ui-chan and friends—commencing operation~!”

“You two, just because the enemy’s gone doesn’t mean you should be yelling, okay?”

Following the instructions we’d been given, we attached the wires. Then we opened the window and tossed the ends of the wires down toward the car, which had just moved into place below. The support team secured the wires tightly to the vehicle. We teleported down to the car using Ui’s magic.

“Is the car strong enough?” 

“I’ll cover it with my skill.”

Then Shachimaruu raised his voice.

“Alright, you bastards! Give it everything you got! We haven’t pulled off a heist this bold since the Ferocious Shark Gang was founded! Pull this off, and we’ll be legends!”

With his shout, the atmosphere tightened. We quickly climbed into the cars. Shachimaruu counted down over the radio.

“Alright, here we go…! Three, two, one… MOVE OUT!”

Both vehicles started at once. The wires went taut, tires briefly spinning in place.

“We’ll make up for the lack of horsepower with skills.”

As Bloody Guy said that, a skill seemed to activate—the cars began to move slightly, gradually picking up speed. There was a loud crack! as we heard something shift. Looking back, we saw the safe snagged against the wall.

“…The wall’s tougher than we thought. Might have rebar inside.” 

Shachimaruu said with a grimace. At that point, some men—about a dozen—came running from afar, likely drawn by the noise. We were bound to get noticed eventually. If we stalled any longer, they might summon the SS-class monsters.

“Shachimaruu, I’ll go out. I’ll take out those guys and break the wall while I’m at it, okay?”

“Wait, Aniki!?”

I flung open the door and leapt out. Ui followed with a squeal.

“Ui-chan’s going too~!”

And Shachimaruu added.

“Then I’ll back you up!”

We turned to face the attackers—when suddenly…

“Ah, Onii-sama! I finally found you!”

I froze. A voice I shouldn’t have been able to hear rang out.

“—Luna? Wh-what are you doing here?”

“Onii-sama, it’s your fault! Leaving me all alone every day, making me so lonely!”

I turned to look—somehow, Luna was standing right there.

“No, hold on—that’s not it. This place is supposed to be far from the Ferocious Shark Gang hideout. How did you even get here? There shouldn’t be a way for you to—”

“Geez! Onii-sama, you’re always so boring! Oh! But more importantly, I brought you a surprise present!”

“Huh…? Surprise… Present…?”

I was so confused, I couldn’t even move. I just stood there in a daze. Shachimaruu and Ui were yelling. The enemies were closing in. But for some reason, I couldn’t take my eyes off Luna.

She raised her teacup high. At the same moment, everyone’s arms lifted against their will, forcing them to mimic her toast. Immediately after that…

The Shadow Wolf hideout erupted in a massive explosion.

The entire building was engulfed in a roaring blaze. Walls were blown apart, or collapsed entirely. The enormous safe crashed to the ground, crushing the front gate. Debris shattered and scattered. One explosion triggered another. Flames roared upward, casting an intense red glow across all our faces—especially Luna’s.

Her face, lit crimson by the fire, wore a deeply, deeply bewitching smile. She looked like a devil—one who seduced and drove people mad.

“How was it? How was it!? Onii-sama, you said it, didn’t you? That you wanted to see a really big firework show!”

Luna beamed at me with absolute confidence. I remembered what I had said. Just a few days ago, when we went to see the fireworks together—I’d said that to her.

I definitely told her I wanted to see a big fireworks show. But this… this wasn’t fireworks at all…

Everyone jolted at my voice, then rushed to pile into the vehicles.

“Luna, you’re coming too!”

“Just get in!”

I picked Luna up and jumped into the car with her.

“Aniki! We’re moving out!”

“Y-yeah, do it!”

The two vehicles accelerated in unison. The wires went taut again, the tires skidding slightly—but only for a moment. Then, both cars sped away side by side, dragging the massive safe behind them as we fled from the scene.
