Vol 4 Chapter 101: “New World” (Vol 4: The Otherworldly Battlefield Arc)
It increases.
Sukui’s immortality magic allows severed body parts to reattach and lost limbs to regenerate.
In other words, even an absent body can be produced.
Even setting that aside—
“Amazing.”
Even if it were possible, it was an act that everyone would avoid.
Not mere clones—each one is genuine.
At this moment, Sukui, as a human, loses his individuality.
The Demon King understands that this is not a condition an ordinary person could endure.
All of a sudden, as the Demon King finds himself surrounded by Sukui’s swarm, his praise is directed elsewhere.
“It’s over.”
Sukui is clothed.
Of course, wearing clothes in itself is nothing unusual; however, the fact that every fragmented Sukui is dressed indicates that he can even generate clothing.
And furthermore—
“Even the knives are replicated?”
Magic is influenced by perception.
Being part of the gods’ power—which could be wielded merely by thought—it is clear that Sukui, and the magic itself, regard the knife as a part of him.
Perhaps naturally so.
After all, when Sukui was summoned to this world, the knife—although merely an object—came along as well.
Sukui does not respond to the Demon King’s words.
Even when their numbers increase, against a Demon King whose death magic is ineffective and whose physical prowess surpasses even their own, it makes no difference.
Silently, a single wound appears on the Demon King’s face.
“Originally—”
The Demon King laughs.
“For someone as powerful as you, the original significance of that weapon should have been meaningless.”
The wound gradually spreads across the Demon King’s entire body: on his hands, his feet, and his torso.
Bigger, deeper.
“That is, something that can defeat foes far superior to oneself.”
Absolute dismemberment.
Originally, even foes so superior that wounding them is nearly impossible still suffer damage, as if their superiority meant nothing.
With Sukui’s knife technique, its benefits were hardly impressive—originally.
“Weakling’s Strike”
The Demon King teleports to a position above Sukui’s swarm.
At the same time, he transforms the world into his Demon King’s castle.
He summons a rain of ultra-hard spears.
Following that, he unleashes magma, lightning, absolute zero, radiation, and supergravity.
For the finishing blow, he holds aloft a sphere—floating on his palm, one size larger than his head.
“Antimatter”
A hesitant phrasing betrays the strain he went through.
Even his abilities were pushed close to their limits in this transformation.
In the process, the Demon King himself might not have remained unscathed.
A power capable of annihilating matter to the extent of destroying this world.
For an instant, their vision vanishes, and then—
For the two, with eyes beyond human, each perceives that the other is still there.
The Demon King sustains injuries as well.
Even the supposedly immortal Sukui, for the most part, cannot be said to have emerged unscathed.
Yet, it does not end.
“Chosen by the hero, trained, and unleashing the power of the holy sword”
This is the reason Sukui withstood the Demon King’s fierce assault.
A massive number of Sukui continue to deploy death magic, which now fills not only their surroundings but the entire room in black.
Nothing is allowed to exist here anymore.
And all of them, swinging their knives widely with a cord.
“Only with comrades beyond the human realm can one confront the enemy”
Against the Demon King, leaving him no place to escape.
Those knives slice through everything.
“You, who take on such a Demon King”
What is it that drives you so?
The Demon King, about to ask, found the answer in his eyes.
They cannot stop.
“Even if you seek death, death only recedes”
Salvation.
That you can save someone.
Thinking so, failing, and bearing that burden each time—
That is his strength.
“You have obtained the answer”
The essence of Sukui is not death.
Salvation. That is the very core of him.
From the chaos it spawned, the answer he produced was
Death.
“The gods have yet to discover the answer within the chaos that is me”
It is a pity they vanish before realizing it.
“I see, no matter how strong you are, that’s why”
you cannot win.
And so, the Demon King was effortlessly
torn apart by the numerous Sukui’s knives.
He was defeated.
