- Chapter 21: Kashima-san and Sakurai-san ①
“Just to be sure, I want to ask you something.”
“Hmm? What’s up?”
There was one thing I needed to confirm, so I decided to ask.
“Sakurai-san, do you have a boyfriend?”
“Hmm? Not right now, no.”
“Oh, I see… hmm…”
Hearing that, I felt relieved. Sakurai-san was at the top of the school caste, a full-fledged social butterfly, so I figured she probably had a boyfriend. But apparently, she didn’t.
I mean, trying to get involved with a girl who already had a boyfriend was definitely a bad move… If her boyfriend found out, I’d probably get punched, right? I really wanted to avoid getting caught up in any violent drama, so I decided to confirm her relationship status beforehand.
“So? What do you wanna do? How do you feel about this, Kurahashi-kun?”
“Well, in that case, I’m totally fine with it. But you know, I have zero experience… I don’t have any confidence that I could make you feel good at all. I mean, I’ll try my best, but…”
I figured it was better to lower Sakurai-san’s expectations in advance by playing up my inexperience. If a seasoned pro like her said something like, “Wow, you’re really bad at this,” I’d probably take a huge mental hit. And just to be clear, I was not chickening out (a virgin’s heart was delicate, okay?).
“…Hehe, you say such earnest things for a guy, Kurahashi-kun. But don’t worry, I’ll take the lead and make sure you feel good.”
“O-Oh…”
Wait, what? This girl was ridiculously seductive. A gal who was actually kind to virgins? That didn’t exist in reality. This world was amazing. I think I’d live here forever—I didn’t need to go back to my old world.
“So, when should we do it? Do you have any free time, Kurahashi-kun?”
“Eh?! A-Anytime works for me! Oh, but I’m broke right now, so I can’t pay for a love hotel. If you could wait a bit, that’d help…”
“Haha, of course, I’ll cover the hotel cost. But you know, Kurahashi-kun, you’re kinda earnest, or maybe just a really nice guy… Hehe, you’re a good man.”
“Eh? R-Really?”
I wasn’t sure why, but it felt like Sakurai-san’s affection toward me had gone up a little. Honestly, everything was unfolding way too conveniently, but hey, might as well go along with it, right?
“Hmm… So you’re saying you’re free anytime, huh…? Hehe, in that case…”
“Uh, yeah?”
As I was thinking about all this, Sakurai-san suddenly took my hand and started moving her face closer to mine. At the same time, I caught a faint, sweet scent coming from her. Was it perfume? Or body mist? I had no idea—being a virgin and all—but either way, that sweet scent made my heart start pounding even faster.
“Hehe… then, why don’t we just do it right now?”
“Eh…?”
Still caught up in the moment, I had no time to react as Sakurai-san leaned in even closer and whispered those words softly into my ear.
After saying that, she pulled back slightly, looking into my eyes with a gentle smile. My heart was on the verge of exploding.
“…Do you not want to?”
“N-No, it’s not that I don’t want to, but…”
“Hehe, then… it’s fine, right?”
“Eh…? Ah…”
As she spoke, Sakurai-san leaned in even closer, closing her eyes and slowly moving in for a kiss. I didn’t resist—I just let myself go with the flow. Our lips were about to touch when—
—CLATTER!—
Suddenly, the sound of the classroom door sliding open echoed through the room. Startled, I quickly turned toward the door, and standing there was… Kashima-san.
“F-F-Forgot something~♪”
“Hm?”
“Hm?”
“…Huh?”
Kashima-san had walked into the classroom, humming cheerfully, looking like she was in a great mood. But the moment she saw us, she froze completely. The atmosphere instantly turned ice-cold.
(Oh crap… Kashima-san’s brain is about to break…)
I mean, anyone looking at this situation would think they just walked in on me and Sakurai-san kissing. If I were in her shoes, my brain would definitely be shattered.
…And so, the battle to save Kashima-san’s sanity was about to begin.
