Spectre of the Sinner - Chapter 6 part 4: The beast's underbelly
“Who fucking cares about listening to you?”
“Now that it comes to this then… We have no choice but to fucking butcher that son of a bitch, heh?”
“Yeah, the words of filthy scum are no good here. After all, we can pin [Kathy’s] death on this bastard, right?”
“Then what we’re waiting for? Either we let this fucking asshole dictate his terms, or we free ourselves. Come on boys, let’s save [Kathy] from that depraved bastard’s clutches, shall we?”
As I was about to take a step forward to address the foreign intruder, crazed howls and curses were directed at him, stopping me from moving. Having retrieved their weapons of choice, the armed members of the [Shadow Guild] slowly stepped forward, flooding the space with intense killing intent.
“Oh my, to think that my reasonable offer got rejected like that, what a shame,” the black-clad man expressed his disappointment sarcastically as he suddenly released poor [Kathy] into her female coworkers’ embrace, then he ominously lowered the pair of alien-looking goggle, “please don’t blame me if the precious furniture got damaged. Bill that to those fucking bastards, or their damn rotting corpse if they’re unlucky enough.”
Along with some of the more reluctant members and the staff, I hurriedly dashed over to the other exit in the hope of getting away from the impending carnage. Considering the man’s weapon’s capacity for causing unwanted damage, I definitely wanted to stay out of the damn device’s hideous muzzle as the black-clad bastard took a hunched-forward stance, aiming his noisy instrument at the foolish hotheads.
As we reached the wooden door, thinking that we could escape from the coming killing, our expectation was betrayed. The damn exit wouldn’t budge, no matter how hard we try to pry it open. Yet another attempt, and no, it nary moved at all.
“For [Almighty’s] sake, what the fuck has he done to this door?!”
“Open the damn door, you fucking bastard!”
Desperation and despair overwhelmed our minds. The female staff could only slump down in resignation, while the other members of the [Guild] still frenziedly trying to force that damn door open.
Then suddenly, all of the candles were snuffed, plunging the space into total darkness. Lonely yelps of surprise were let out, only to be absorbed in the dark blanket. Anxious and labored breathing from the nearby panicked female staff was the only source of sound in the hall, tinging the air the muddy color of unwanted anticipation.
Brrrrrt!
