Chapter 56: Cheering at the Match
“…It’s too damn early in the morning.”
Just when I thought the sleepover with Kirino was over, a few days later, Rinka’s Kanto tournament started.
Since I said I’d go cheer for her, I had no choice but to go, so here I was, on an early morning train.
Fuzuha was supposed to come along, but something came up at the last minute.
…I also suspect she’s been mentally drained lately, so I hope she rests well during whatever she’s doing.
That said, the sleepover made it crystal clear that mixing Kirino with my sisters is dangerous.
First, Fuzuha, who’s usually timid, tried to attack Kirino without hesitation.
Ayuka kept provoking Kirino, and ended up… fainting?
Rinka… was just her usual self.
“If that fainting thing was real, it’d be straight-up assault.”
I guess I was right not to scream like I did before.
While lost in thought, the train got closer to my destination station.
“…There’s really nothing out here.”
The view from the train was just mountains and fields.
We were probably in some city I’d never even heard of by now.
“…I wanna go home.”
Luckily, the tournament would end in one day, so no need to worry about staying overnight.
But I’d be even more exhausted on the way back, so the train ride would probably feel even longer.
“Ugh, I’m getting sleepy.”
If I fell asleep now, I’d miss my stop and get woken up at the end of the line.
If I missed Rinka’s match because of that…
Even thinking about it a little, I was sure she’d do worse than make me faint.
“…This is my stop.”
I managed not to close my eyes once and got off at the station closest to the venue.
The venue was surprisingly close to the station, which was pretty convenient in that sense.
But even if it was close, the station was practically deserted, so it was still in the middle of nowhere…
“Haa, haa, haa.”
Panting so hard it sounded like moaning, I finally climbed the hill.
“It’s rural and hot. I don’t even feel alive anymore.”
But that feeling didn’t last long.
Once I reached the top of the hill, I could see the venue.
“Phew, it’s finally cooling down.”
I arrived at the budokan, checked in at the reception, and went inside.
As expected of a Kanto tournament, it was way bigger than the budokan at our school.
With a place this big, there’s no way I could spot Rinka, yeah.
I quickly gave up on meeting Rinka before the match and headed to the spectator seats.
Since it was early in the morning, the seats weren’t that full yet.
To keep some distance from others, I sat at the least popular spot, right at the edge.
Sure, sitting at the edge made it harder to see the match, but it gave me a good view of the whole budokan.
“…They all look so intense.”
As expected of a women’s kendo tournament.
The competitors weren’t as intense as Rinka, but they still had fierce expressions.
If I brought my old buddies here, the seats would fill up in no time, and the whole place would probably stink of pool chlorine.
“Hey, you.”
While I was lost in that stupid daydream, a familiar voice from class spoke up.
“That’s Nuregami, right? Here to cheer for your sister?”
It was Yoshirin Kikujima, Kirino’s yuri candidate, sitting next to me.
“Uh, why are you here, Kikujima?”
“I-I’m here for my sister!”
Sister?
This was supposed to be the high school division.
“Th-that’s not important!”
Kikujima boldly and cutely dodged the question.
“More importantly, you’re here to cheer for that Class A sister, right?”
“Y-yeah, I am.”
“If you care about your sister that much, why not just pick her over Kirino?”
Whoa, that’s a bold move.
“You and that sister are so opposite, it kinda makes you a perfect match.”
Well, I’d kinda thought that myself, but in Kikujima’s case, she’s probably just saying whatever to tear me and Kirino apart.
“So, I heard you let Kirino stay over at your place!?”
Her voice suddenly turned sharp.
“You… didn’t do anything weird in your room, did you?”
“With my sisters there, you think I could do something like that!?”
Well, actually, we slept in the same bed and kissed, but still.
“Huh!? Don’t tell me you got your sister involved in a threesome…”
“That’s not something a girl should be talking about… Also, technically, with three sisters at home, it’d be a fivesome.”
Oh, crap, my inner thoughts slipped out.
“Huh?”
“N-no, I mean, if I did involve everyone, that’d be the case…!?”
Seeing Kikujima try to grab my “balls,” my words trailed off.
“I’m seriously gonna crush these balls of yours…”
Oh no, her eyes are dead serious.
“Y-yes, sorry…”
By the way, when Kikujima threatened to crush them, I was so scared I shriveled up, but then I started imagining her actually grabbing them. And, well, let’s just say while I was cheering for Rinka’s match, my pants pitched a pretty big tent. That’s a secret, though.

Chapter 57: Yuri Yandere and Cool Yandere
“Well, it was a close match, Rinka.”
“I don’t need your pity. It was just my lack of practice.”
Rinka made it through the first round but lost in the second after a brilliant strike against her.
Even though she lost, we couldn’t leave right away. We had to stay and watch all the matches of her schoolmates.
And, of course, I was stuck there too.
Now we were on the train heading back.
“So.”
“…What?”
Rinka turned to Yoshirin Kikujima, who was sitting next to me.
“Why were you at the venue with Kiyoto?”
“It was just a coincidence. I went to cheer for a close junior, saw a familiar face, and thought it’d be nice to sit and chat.”
Wait, didn’t she say earlier she was there for her sister?
“But it doesn’t look like you’re heading back with that close junior.”
“W-Well… we got separated. She’s probably just in another carriage.”
Come to think of it, Kikujima was talking to me or glaring at me the whole time during the match and didn’t seem to be cheering for anyone specific.
…If her real goal was to find something to break me and Kirino up, that’s some next-level yuri yandere obsession.
“So, Rinka-chan, right?”
“…Please don’t call me ‘chan.’”
“Why not? It’s fine, isn’t it?”
“I’d rather not be called the same way as the woman I hate most in the world.”
Saying “most in the world” so boldly?
“Fine, I’ll call you Little Sister then.”
Is that nickname any better?
“Hey, Little Sister, be honest. You like your brother, don’t you?”
“I do.”
Rinka openly admitted she liked her real brother.
At this point, her sense of identity is so shattered it’s game over.
“Then you know your brother’s dating a girl named Kirino Kinui, right?”
Whoa!?
That’s like a forbidden word for Rinka!
“…I’d rather not hear that name right now.”
Rinka got visibly annoyed.
“From that reaction, you clearly know. So, can you accept that situation?”
“It’s completely unacceptable, but if I forced him to end things with that woman, Kiyoto might hate me.”
As for me, a cool little sister forcing her brother and his girlfriend apart totally hits my kink, so I’m all for it!
“But are you okay just letting it slide? Knowing this lower-body monster, it wouldn’t be surprising if he’s already made something official.”
Lower-body monster!?
That’s one hell of a power phrase.
“…I believe Kiyoto would never do something so beastly.”
“You just don’t know how he is at school.”
I mean, I don’t exactly give off sex-crazed monkey vibes.
If anything, I’m just a quiet nerd too shy to even crack dirty jokes in class.
“Plus, even if it’s unlikely, if Kirino came on to him forcefully, do you think this short, scrawny beanpole could resist?”
If Kirino and I got into a real fight, I’d probably be (literally) boneless in under three minutes.
“Actually, I’ve been worried about that lately. There’s already been a case like that.”
“What? You mean this guy’s been attacked by someone…?”
Please, Rinka, don’t say any more.
“As a precaution, I’ll need to drag Kiyoto to the sports center again.”
No more sports center, please.
I’ve already learned how terrible Rinka’s taste in dates is.
“But no matter what, it’s certain that Kiyoto and I will end up together. It’s fate.”
Whoa.
Is she planning to turn into a cool, chuunibyou yandere sister now?
I thought even Kikujima would back off at this, but…
“Y-Yeah, exactly, fate! You and this guy are destined to love each other!”
She’s egging her on while throwing in some lol’s.
Of course, for Kikujima, her mission is complete if Kirino and I break up, so fueling Rinka’s delusions is probably more efficient.
While we were having this bizarre high schooler conversation, we arrived at our station.
“See ya, Nuregami and Little Sister. I hope your love comes true!”
Kikujima left through the gate, heading in the opposite direction.
That girl… kept throwing lol’s until the end.
I walked down the night streets alone with Rinka.
It was midsummer, and she was wearing a tracksuit, so I half-expected her to be sweating, but there wasn’t even a hint of that smell.
“What’s wrong? Staring at my body? Do you want the kind of relationship we were just talking about?”
“Yea… N-No!”
I almost said “Yeah.”
After that, Rinka started walking closer to me, almost clinging, but there was still no trace of that sweaty dampness.
“We’re home!”
We got home and stepped into the entrance together.
It was past 8 p.m., so everyone was probably eating dinner in the living room.
Though, as expected, Ayuka probably wasn’t there.
“Fuzuha?”
As predicted, Ayuka wasn’t in the living room.
And Fuzuha…
“…?”
She was calmly eating a convenience store bento, looking completely at ease.
