Chapter 1-43: Sunday Morning Transformation Heroine Anime
The next program had started on TV. It was a live news broadcast. The top story, as expected, was about the magical girls and monsters.
They were discussing how society was reacting to the magical girls and offering various opinions. The TV station might be trying to steer public opinion in a certain direction.
Not wanting to watch it, I picked up the remote and turned it off.
It wasn’t just that I didn’t want to see it, I didn’t want Rafio to see it. There would be criticisms, and it would show the ugliness of people.
Noticing that the sound of the TV had suddenly stopped, Rafio glanced over at me. He quickly headed towards the fridge though.
I thought I saw a faint smile on his profile.
“Hey, Rafio.”
“What?”
“Well…”
I wanted to ask what he thought about humans, but I stopped. I couldn’t do it.
“Why were you watching TV with that small body? Isn’t it hard to see when you have to look up? Wouldn’t it be better to stay human like now?”
“When my body is small, everything looks more impressive and interesting. The TV is amazing too. Even pudding looks big.”
“I see.”
Such an easygoing reason.
At the neighborhood supermarket, miraculously, there were some kanpyo rolls left with half-price stickers on them, so Aina was in a good mood after her bath. She had said to just give up if there weren’t any, though.
In high spirits, she drank her sake while eating the kanpyo rolls, and eventually, she got drunk and fell asleep.
Tomorrow was Sunday too, a day off. So, she could sleep as much as she wanted, but she drank too much. I was the one who had to carry this sister of mine to her room.
“Yuuma, I love you~”
“Yeah, yeah.”
I laid Aina down on her bed in her messy room.
She had a blissful sleeping face.
The next day. Unlike Aina, who slept until the afternoon, I got up at a reasonable time. Rafio did too.
Rafio and I started cleaning the messy house in the morning. We put things that had fallen on the floor back in their places and cleaned up the dust that had accumulated in the corners. We also had to buy detergent to clean the kitchen and bathroom.
Our food situation was improving, so the next step was to improve our living conditions. We were taking care of the “living” part of “food, clothing, and shelter.”
I didn’t feel like improving my clothing yet. It might happen due to some trigger though.
Then, I heard a notification sound from my smartphone. It was from Tsumugi.
“Yuuma-san! Can I come over now?”
“Sure. Is Rafio there?”
“Yes!”
Immediately after, the doorbell rang. Even though she’s the neighbor, that was quick. She must have sent the message from in front of the house.
“An early visitor, huh? Who is it?”
“Tsumugi.”
“Tell her I’m not here!”
“Good morning, Rafio! Let’s watch Miracle Force together!”
“No! Hey! Let go! Stop!”
After tickling and fluffing Rafio, she grabbed him and sat on the sofa in front of the TV.
What a smooth move.
She was holding Rafio on her lap, gripping him tightly so he couldn’t escape, and fluffing him with her fingers.
“Hey? Rafio, you like Miracle Force too, right? It’s like magical girls!”
“I do, but I haven’t been able to watch the current one. I’m following the series from the beginning, but there are too many episodes. And I don’t like watching it with you.”
“Oh, you’re so shy. Oh, it’s starting!”
“I need to make breakfast.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll do it.”
“You traitor!”
No matter how much Rafio shouted, the anime started without a hitch.
On the TV screen, a girl with brightly colored hair smiled at us.
The Miracle Force series is a children’s anime series that airs on Sunday mornings. It features a group of girls around middle school age who transform with miraculous powers in colorful costumes and defeat evil. In other words, a magical girl anime.
It’s a Sunday morning staple that has been airing for years, with a new series starting every year. Aina was also obsessed with it when she was little. By the time I was old enough to remember, she had outgrown it.
Even I was obsessed with the Kamen series that aired after this when I was little. But I outgrew it around the third grade.
Tsumugi is in fifth grade. I feel like she’s a bit out of the target age range for Miracle Force. There could be many reasons, like she’s been watching it since she was young or she genuinely likes it.
The current series is called “Miracle Force Beast Bite!” or something. Beast Bite, huh.
The protagonist seems to be a girl with blue hair. In the latter half of the episode, a monster appeared, and the girls transformed into Miracle Force to defeat it.
“Nami! Transform into Miracle Shark and kill that thing, Usa!”
“Okay, Moffy.”
A character that looked like a rabbit was giving the protagonist girl some dangerous instructions. And the girl, who seemed to be themed around a shark, nodded.
I know that the Miracle Force series always has a fairy character. In this series, it must be that rabbit. His name seems to be Moffy.
“Moffy is cute. He looks really fluffy and I like him.”
“Yeah. He looks like a character you’d like.”
“I want to fluff Moffy.”
“Give it up. You can’t touch an anime character. Settle for a plush toy.”
“Then, I had an idea! I’ll fluff Rafio while watching Moffy!”
“Why does it come to that?!”
“Go, Miracle Shark!”
“Stop! Let me go before you cheer!”
I understood well why Tsumugi was watching Miracle Force.
The fairy characters must be fluffy throughout the series.
