Chapter 1-29: Still a Lively House
There were also opinions wondering if there might be other magical girls and how many there might be.
One girl even declared passionately that she wanted to become a magical girl herself.
“Rafio, there’s someone who wants to become a magical girl.”
“Only if they have the aptitude. I can’t tell just by looking through the TV.”
Apparently, it couldn’t be determined through a TV screen. Rafio lazily glanced at the television.
“Impossible.”
He said curtly. It seemed he had already seen that person directly. I finally realized who it was.
It was the girl I saved on the first day I fought. She seemed to have become quite obsessed with magical girls.
I understood her feelings. Aside from those who knew our true identities, she was the only person in the world who had a strong connection with magical girls.
The interviewee on the street soon changed to someone saying the new yellow magical girl might be cuter.
“Go to hell!”
Aina turned off the TV.
It’s understandable not to feel good about it. It’s not just about being compared, but about hearing people who know nothing say whatever they want.
“Ugh, everyone prefers bigger breasts after all. I’m worthless…”
Oh, so it was the comparison that bothered her. Aina complained, then gulped down her beer and slumped onto the table.
“Seriously. Stop drinking. I’ll carry you to your room.”
“Yuuma…”
“Yes, yes.”
I helped her small, light body up and steadied her.
“Yuuma, stay as my Yuuma. I’m still your number one, right?”
“Yeah, sure.”
“Hehe.”
Despite my unenthusiastic reply, Aina smiled and hugged me.
“Yuuma, I love you.”
“Make sure you take a bath once you sober up.”
“You’re so cold.”
“Stop poking my side.”
“Bring me a beer later to my room.”
“Are you serious?!”
—
The next day.
“Ahh! Stop! Not the frying pan! It’s too loud! I’ll get up! I’ll change! I’ll undress, so please stop!”
She must have bathed, but she spent the night drunk as usual. So I woke her up with the frying pan.
To avoid seeing Aina undressed, I left the room and continued banging the frying pan just outside.
“Hey, Yuuma! How do I make my brother kinder if seduction doesn’t work?”
“Don’t try to seduce your own brother. And don’t ask me. Just wake up properly in the morning and I might become kinder to you.”
“Anything but that!”
“Should I ask Rafio to help bang the frying pan with me together?”
“No! Please don’t! I’ll do anything!”
“Then wake up early.”
“Oh come on. Your sister said she’ll do anything, you know? Show some manliness and make a move.”
“Frying pan.”
“Stop it!”
What was that about being lively with five people? It’s still plenty noisy now.
Aina shouted that she didn’t want to go to work as she dashed out the door after shoveling down the breakfast Rafio made. Why couldn’t she channel that energy into her work?
“Yuuma, let’s go.”
“Yeah, yeah.”
“Maybe we could leave a bit later today?”
“To avoid Tsumugi? I doubt that’ll work.”
Opening the door a few minutes earlier than usual, we found Tsumugi waiting as usual.
“Good morning, Yuuma! Rafio!”
“Why?!”
“Rafio, let me cuddle you!”
“No! Don’t touch me!”
“Yay! Thank you!”
“Does she not understand human language?! Ahhhhh!”
Tsumugi captured Rafio from my bag and walked to the elevator, hugging him. She seemed to have a knack for sensing his presence, so even if Rafio left the house early, Tsumugi would be there waiting.
In fact, Tsumugi might even get up early and wait in front of the house until I came out, or come into the house to catch Rafio herself.
Once Rafio’s presence was known, he couldn’t hide from Tsumugi’s fluff radar. It was a futile effort.
“Let me go! I don’t want anything to do with you!”
“Hehe, I’m happy to be friends with Rafio!”
“She doesn’t understand words!”
“Rafio, let’s eat together today. I’ll bring you pudding as a treat!”
“Pudding?! But… no, fluff… pudding…”
“You’re actually considering it?”
“No! I don’t want to be involved with you! Hey, Yuuma! We’re going to the supermarket after school! I’ll buy my own pudding!”
He sounded determined, but he probably wouldn’t escape Tsumugi.
“See you later, Yuuma, Rafio!”
“See you.”
Watching Tsumugi run off to school, Rafio collapsed on top of my bag, exhausted.
“Yuuma, let’s go out this weekend. Tomorrow’s Saturday, right?”
“Yeah. Do you have something you want to do?”
“If we stay home on the weekend, she’ll come over. I definitely don’t want that…”
It seems like a futile effort. We could try it once, though.
“I need to figure out a way to deal with that fluff maniac…”
Poor Rafio. He’s got it tough too.
