Since my Useless Working Sister and Other Troublemakers Became Magical Girls, I have no Choice but to Support Them. - Chapter 1-26: Five Seats
Chapter 1-26: Five Seats
The sight of a girl adoring a small animal is heartwarming, but if left alone, it would never end.
“Tsumugi, that’s enough. By the way, why are you here?”
“Oh! Hello, Yuuma-san! I was following my fluffy instinct, and it led me here!”
“I see.”
What on earth is the “fluffy instinct”? It must be something only Tsumugi has.
“You mean the feeling you got from me was actually from Rafio?”
“Yeah, that’s right. It’s Rafio.”
“Hooray! Rafio! Let’s be friends from now on!”
“No way! I refuse! I don’t want anything to do with you!”
“Hehe, I’m so happy to be friends with Rafio!”
“She doesn’t understand Japanese!?”
“So, Yuuma-san, what kind of animal is Rafio? A cat? A rabbit?”
“Rafio is a Rafio. For now, let’s go to my house and I’ll explain everything. Is that okay, sis?”
“Yeah, that’s fine. Hey, I’m Yuuma’s number one girl, right?”
“Enough with that already.”
“Hey, Yuuma! Are you really going to let her into the house!?”
“She’s our neighbor.”
“Ahhhhh!”
I need to explain about magical girls to Haruka too. For now, we’ll all head home together.
Aina has stopped crying, though she’s still a bit down. She’s making a big deal out of her breast size.
This is a residential area near the station, about a ten-minute train ride from my closest station. From there, it’s another ten-minute walk to my house.
We walked leisurely while I pushed Haruka’s wheelchair.
“Hehe, Rafio is the fluffiest animal I’ve ever fluffed!”
“That’s a dishonorable title.”
Meanwhile, Rafio was being hugged by Tsumugi the entire time.
“This is Yuuma’s house. Excuse me.”
“Excuse us.”
“Sorry for the mess.”
“Sorry, it’s because Yuuma never cleans up.”
“You’re the same, sis. Should I show them your room?”
“Please don’t! It’s fine! I’m the head of the household! Cleaning and tidying up are your jobs, Yuuma!”
“You really are something.”
“Don’t worry about it! Our house is similar!”
Being consoled by an elementary schooler is pretty embarrassing.
Haruka parked her wheelchair by the entrance.
Our apartment building has an elevator, but inside each unit isn’t really wheelchair accessible. The steps at the entrance are a problem.
“Well, that’s normal. Here we go.”
Haruka, used to such situations, reached behind her wheelchair for the foldable crutch attached to it. With a light shake, it extended with a small click, and she stood up, placing it under her right armpit.
Haruka was adept enough with her crutch to walk normally with just one.
“Whoa…”
“Cool…”
Tsumugi and Rafio both voiced their amazement.
“Hehe. Impressive, right?”
Haruka looked proud. I should learn from her positivity.
For now, I had everyone sit in the living room.
Although it had been just the two of us living here until recently, the house originally had seating for five people.
“Let’s start with introductions. Rafio has a lot to explain, so he can go last. You all know me, right?”
I knew everyone, and Rafio knew Tsumugi and Haruka from observation. Tsumugi was already acquainted with Aina, but this was more or less a first meeting for everyone else.
“Even though it’s introductions, I’m not planning on getting too involved with her.”
Rafio, transformed into his non-fluffy boy form, said this while warily watching Tsumugi. It was more like a glare than a watch.
Tsumugi, on the other hand, was looking at Rafio with a big smile, a stark contrast in demeanor.
“Well, I’ll go first since I’m the head of the household. I’m Aina Souri, Yuuma’s sister. We’ve been living together for the past few years. You could say we’re almost like a married couple!”
“No, we’re siblings. Nothing like a married couple.”
“We’re half like a married couple!”
“Hey Yuuma, Aina-san is a funny sister.”
“If you didn’t live with her, you’d find her funny too.”
“Nice to meet you, sis!”
“I-I’m not your sis! You don’t have the right to call me that!”
“No, I think of you as my sister.”
What are these two competing over?
They don’t have a bad relationship, but there’s a strange sense of rivalry.
“Yuuma, you can’t pretend not to know why they’re competitive, right?”
“Shut up.”
I responded curtly to Rafio’s question. Yeah, I get it. I’m not that dense.
I just don’t want to face reality.
“I’m Haruka Kanbashi! Yuuma’s classmate! As you can see, I use a wheelchair! Every morning, Yuuma helps push my wheelchair.”
“Ugh, you could move your wheelchair by yourself, but you make Yuuma push you just to get close to him.”
“Hmph. Yuuma is very kind to me! Out of all the boys in our class, I’m closest to Yuuma!”
“Argh!”
As I said, stop competing.
