Shoushaman no Isekai Survival ~Zettai Hito to wa Tsurumanee~ - Chapter 282
Chapter 282

“Ah, that’s right.
The egg.
I remembered about the egg. I decided to show my findings to all seven of them before they returned to their rooms.
Everyone was surprised but the one who was most surprised was White-san, the wizard. White-san was deeply moved that he was healed from the petrification but what truly surprised him the most was the dragon’s egg. He showed great interest in the concept of monster taming.
Apparently, White-san had been researching monster taming. He summoned his tamed monster from subspace. His tamed monster looked like a bat and apparently, White-san had been using it as a messenger.
According to White-san, monster taming usually started from the egg state. We then would be able to form a contract with the monster using blood and magic.
To tame a monster egg, for some reason the tamer had to defeat the same monster in their adult state first. Because of this condition, it was generally impossible to tame a monster stronger than oneself.
The experience points required for leveling up are called Ex-Material, and the creature being tamed somehow senses it or something like that.
And this time… The condition to tame the behemoth had miraculously been fulfilled. Moreover, behemoths are part of dragon species. No monster tamer had managed to tame a dragon type monster before.
Hence why White-san was really eager to make me try taming the behemoth. He explained with great enthusiasm the benefit of taming a behemoth. He was so passionate that I ended up caving in.
I agreed that I would try to form a contract with the behemoth.
◇◇◇
White-san had finished preparing for the taming ritual. He took out a thick magic book from a subspace, flipped through the pages until he reached a page with a lizard-like magic circle drawn on it. White-san copied the magic circle from the book onto another paper using
yellow-green ink.
White-san placed the egg on top of the magic circle. Using mixtures of gestures and verbal instruction, he told me to let my blood drip onto the egg and chanted “×〇△××” afterward.
I nodded and did as he instructed. I cut my thumb and let my blood to fall onto the egg and chanted “×〇△××” while holding my hand over the egg.
Some sort of tangible aura emerged from the surface of the egg. The air began to crackle, I could feel the egg resisting my magic power.
White-san deducted that we had to change our method. He pointed to the glacies fang and told me to place the fang against the egg. Although I was skeptical, but I decided to try to poke the egg with the fang and true enough, the aura of resistance that had been emanating from the egg disappeared.
The magic circle drawn on the paper began to glow and at the same time, the same magic circle appeared on the surface of the egg.
“Alright!”
White-san nodded.
Apparently, the conditions for taming vary from one monster to another.
Perhaps, because the behemoth is a dragon type monster, we need to use a dragon fang to tame it.
The ink White-san used was also made from some sort of special material. In a world where formal education was basically nonexistent, it turned out monster taming required a high degree of knowledge, similar to magic.
Despite being stuck in Awa Odori dance pose when he got petrified by the behemoth, White-san was actually pretty amazing.
Then, I tried to use appraisal on the behemoth’s egg again.
【Behemoth’s Egg: The egg of the behemoth, a dragon type monster. Contractor: Keigo Okuda.】
My name appeared on the description.

T/N: I love how unserious this chapter is. It’s basically trial and error experiment
