When it Snows

“Ah…”

“What is it?”

We are talking casually after school like we always usually do. Kisaragi who is talking about the benefits of tangerines, suddenly stands up with her eyes wide open and run to the window. When I look at her to see what’s going on, she urges me to look out the window. I turn my gaze to the window along with her finger and see something white and fragile dancing in the air.

I see. No wonder it’s so cold this morning.

“Snow.”

“Yeah, snow! It’s snowing!”

The excitement in her voice went up by two levels. Apparently, the snow is making her very excited.

“I heard it was going to snow, but I didn’t think it would actually snow.”

She is jumping up and down, expressing her excitement about the snow. This is probably not her first time seeing it, but she seems very excited about it. It’s true that snow rarely falls here, but it’s not something to be that excited about.

“I hope it doesn’t pile up.”

“We still have school tomorrow. It will be cold walking in the snow.”

“Make sure you stay warm, okay?”

“It’s going to be really cold tomorrow.”

“Well it’s still going to be cold whether it snows or not, so it’s much a better deal to snow, right? It’ll be a lot of fun.”

“I don’t think it’s really a bargain, though.”

“Don’t you have a child’s mind Hokuto-san?”

“You’re just too childish. You need to act more like your age.”

The school year will be over soon. Whether we like it or now, it’s exam season now. By this time next year, we won’t be able to talk about the snow here anymore.

“That’s right, that’s why we’re going to make a fuss about it snowing while we can.”

“You didn’t add that on the spur of the moment, did you?”

“I think Kisaragi has always been cute since she realized how wonderful she is, I also think she will look very cute playing in the snow.”
