She is Reading My Thoughts Again Today - Chapter 3
Cursed Notebook Day
“I found a cursed notebook.”
“…huh.”
I couldn’t say anything back but ‘Yeah, I see.’ What else could I say if she told me she found a cursed notebook. I don’t think she would lie about it, but I had a feeling that she would say something strange like that out of the blue. Right now, I’m really at loss for a response.
“That’s rude.”
“Because, you know, there’s no such thing as fantasy cursed notebooks.”
“No really, this is an actual cursed notebook.”
On her desk was a notebook from a common manufacturer. I think it is a really big manufacturer, since I use it myself. There was no name or subject written on either the front or back cover. The white paper part visible from the top shows it was used. However, at a quick glance, it does not seem like a cursed notebook.
“Open it and see it for yourself.”
As I was told, I opened the notebook. I was immensely surprised. Inside, was the name of a person written endlessly. It was written by a pencil, but the writings were so thick and bold, I wondered what size of B pencil had been used for it. I made a strange noise and threw the notebook, then she picked up the notebook carefully.
“What is that!?”
My hands were shaking. I felt really sick.
“This is a cursed notebook.”
“Yeah, I understand that part, but…”
“Please handle it with care. We will take it to the lost and found later. Maybe she will go to the lost and found to find her notebook”
“You’re quite a challenger, aren’t you!?”
I don’t know what the owner of this book would do if she knew that I have seen the contents of this book.
“Since you’re just in the classroom, why don’t you just put it inside your desk drawer.”
“I bet you will judge me without even looking inside my mind. But, wouldn’t it be dangerous if we take this cursed notebook to the lost and found ourselves?”
Am I right?
“You’re right, maybe.”
By the way, kisaragi said ‘she’, does it mean the owner of this cursed notebook is a girl? Nevermind, I don’t want to know about it further.
“More importantly, why did you show it to me, is it just to scare me?”
“No, it was unexpected that Hokuto-san would be that frightened. I apologize.”
She really didn’t expect I would be afraid of it, and she bowed her head.
“Don’t mind about it, but please tell me what happen.”
She immediately looked up to me.
“I don’t mind telling you what happened, but I’m just piecing things together from what I’ve heard. Of course, I don’t think my theory is completely true.”
I want to know the scary origin of this cured notebook. Now that I’m halfway through, I can’t just back down.
“Then first of all, why did you show me this cursed notebook?”
“I showed you the notebook because I don’t want to be cursed alone.”
That was a really horrible reason.
“What if I’m cursed too?”
“I don’t know the exact principle of the curse, but I’m sure if we see it together, we’ll only be half cursed.”
“I’m sure it doesn’t work that way!”
She pretended to think for a moment. She stared at me as if she was thinking really hard. Well, I’m used of her staring at me. Then, she lets out a sigh and started talking.
“Well, I don’t think she can curse us. She must be an ordinary person as well. On top of that, if she really wants to curse someone, it must be the person she wrote in this notebook. I’m sure we’ll be fine. Now, let’s move on.”
Whether we are okay or not does not matter anyway, we have no way to counter or dispel the curse, so we have no choice but to move on.
“In the first place, you knew the situation of the person who owned this notebook by reading her thought, didn’t you? Why did you pick it up?”
“If a notebook were to fall down on the hallway, you’d pick it up without a second thought, right?”
“Did you open and see what’s inside?”
“Yeah, there’s a person’s name written endlessly behind the cover.”
I can’t understand the think process of such person, but I’m sure such person exist, it is proven by this notebook. I have not been able to make sense of this notebook since the first time she showed me.
“Then let’s get down to business. Why does she make this notebook in the first place?”
“It’s jealousy.”
“Hmm, jealousy.”
“Her Jealousy resulted this notebook.”
“This is too scary.”
“Let’s just be glad it wasn’t directed for us. Are these things classified as yandere? Or is it kuudere?”
“That’s not my area of expertise.”
“I see. I don’t know either, so it still remains a mystery to me.”
Its sure is scary, but I was disappointed to know the reason behind this notebook was made because of such trivial things.
She smiled softly, then the classroom door opened. I looked and saw a female student who is out of breath looking at me with a look of despair. She hurried over and picked up the notebook on my desk.
“…did you see it?”
A chill runs down my spine. How should I respond? The fact that I have a nervous expression on my face proves that I’ve already seen it, so I’ll just say the truth to her.
“I saw it, I’m sorry.”
Knowing that I’ve seen what is inside the notebook, she frankly said sorry and bowed her head.
“…I’m sorry about that.”
Likewise, I bow my head.
“…please don’t tell anyone about it.”
She muttered and left the classroom without further ado. I looked at kisaragi and made an eye contact with her. I let out a sigh.
“…there’s no way I could tell anyone about it.”
However, kisaragi looked different, she looked somewhat ecstatic about it.
“It’s a strange feeling. You can’t predict when people are going to come in.”
“Was that really fun for you?”
“Yes, it is!”
