Chapter 14 – Interfere With the Game System
An unexpected problem was brought to light on the way to school.
I never thought my game reincarnation would come into play in a situation like this.
No matter what, I couldn’t intervene in the conversations that existed within the game.
My mouth wouldn’t open. Whenever I tried to join in a conversation, I felt as if something was stuck in my throat, and I couldn’t speak.
On the other hand, as long as I didn’t try to join in their conversations, there were no restrictions on my actions.
I couldn’t visually track how favorability points moved in the game.
The protagonist’s dialogue choices in their conversation would either add or subtract points, causing favorability to rise or fall.
In addition, in a game, I was the one controlling the protagonist, so I could control whose ending they got, but in this world, I have no idea who he’s aiming for.
Taking all of that into consideration, I felt like I had to get the heroines to turn their feelings towards me as soon as possible.
If they ended up on the bad ending route, it might be too late.
Now that I’ve gotten a grasp on the current situation, I should start the process of checking to see if the seeds I planted yesterday are working properly.
The six of them continued to talk, and had already begun to use words that were not in the game text.
I’m sure this scene was the “We had a fun conversation until we arrived at school” event.
Does that mean that we’re still under the control of the game’s system?
Let’s do an experiment to see if I can intervene here.
“……”
“…Ah.”
I silently stared at Maika, the one I had already “planted my seed” in through our lovey-dovey sex.
I stared at her for a while, but she didn’t notice, and just when I thought it was no good after all, in the middle of a pause in the conversation, Maika noticed my gaze.
And guess what? Just as I thought, the seed I had planted sprouted and a look of lust began to appear on her face.
※Protagonist: “What’s wrong, Maika?”
※Maika: “Ah, no, it’s nothing.”
※Protagonist: “Really? Do you have a fever?”
※Maika: “N-no, I don’t.”
※Protagonist: “Maybe it’s that time of month? If you’re not feeling well, you should tell me.”
Oi, oi, oi… How can you ask that to a girl…
Of all the questions to ask a girl, asking about that time of the month has to be in the top five of “things a girl never wants to hear from a guy she likes.”
This guy is really insensitive. Plus, I hate him because he seems to think he’s funny.
From a game perspective, the protagonist’s comedic back-and-forth with the heroines was highly rated, considered an entertaining part of the story. But since I had gotten too emotionally invested in the heroines, I found his behavior constantly unpleasant.
I pretended not to hear so it wouldn’t show on my face, and looked away from Maika.
※Yuna: “Hey Lacto. That question was seriously out of line.”
※Hatsune: “I-I don’t think that was nice.”
※Koyuki: “Onii-chan… bad!”
※Protagonist: “J-Just kidding! It was a joke! My bad, okay?”
The girls were absolutely tearing into him. Even Koyuki and Hatsune, who rarely ever criticized the protagonist, were visibly put off.
His likability ratings have probably plummeted.
It seems my decision to go after Maika first has worked in my favor.
I guess it’s safe to say that this is a way to interfere with the content of the game.
