Scum-lesse Oblige, I Have Been Reincarnated as a Scum Villain in an 18+ Game World, and I Absolutely Want to Grasp the Mob Life with the Power of My Knowledge of the Original Story - Chapter 37
The [Moon] Gregorio
‘Last Arcanum.’
It is an 18+ game which has a system that excites the enthusiasts of the so called ‘chuunibyou’ culture.
(Note: ‘Chuunibyou’ refers to a Japanese term used to describe adolescents who exhibit delusional behaviours, often fantasizing about having special powers or a secret identity.)
That system is called Arcana.
The game has 22 Arcana that make up the Tarot.
Each key character in the story is associated with a corresponding Arcanum.
For example, in the case of Iris, who is currently in a difficult situation but eventually awakens and, depending on the route, may even reclaim the throne, she is associated with the Arcanum of ‘The Empress’.
Another example, in the case of Sieg, who seems like an ordinary person now but continues to passionately pursues strength with extreme and dangerous training that no ordinary person would think of, eventually defeating the final boss and save the world, is associated with the Arcanum ‘The Fool’.
In this way, each characters have an Arcana that symbolizes their personalities.
Well, in essence, the key characters of the story associated with Arcana are generally difficult to deal with.
So, if you’re aiming for a mob life, it’s best to avoid them.
—however, I’m facing something extremely troublesome.
The mastermind of this incident, Gregorio, is also associated with one of the Arcana in the game.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Gregorio.
The mayor of Lyon, the appears to be a handsome and refreshing man who is doing his job exceptionally.
To be honest, Gregorio isn’t that strong himself. I can probably beat him in a head-on battle.
He is clearly weaker than Bard.
However, what’s troublesome about Gregorio isn’t his physical abilities.
He has the skill to inspire people around him, establishes a powerful underground guild, and ultimately stands in the way of the protagonist.
Moreover, despite doing all that, this man doesn’t have any particular goal.
He’s doing all that just simply because he’s bored.
Gregorio, who somehow feels there is a void in his heart from a young age, was essentially looking for someone to kill time with.
When he looked at Lyon, he thought that it might be fun to take over and control the city.
There are two types of antagonist characters in ‘Last Aca’. The first one is when defeated by the protagonist, they somehow become more understanding and decides to atone for their sins. However, Gregorio is the type who tries to betray the protagonist whenever he has the chance.
By the way, despite his insane villainy nature, his handsome appearance is enough to make him one of the most popular characters of ‘Last Aca’.
—however, when considering him as my real enemy, there is hardly a more troublesome opponent.
Yes, among all of the characters in ‘Last Aca’ the man named Gregorio is undoubtedly a lunatic that I should avoid.
That’s why I didn’t go barging into Gregorio’s place during this event. If I acted recklessly, I would likely end up being stalked by the lunatic for the rest of my life.
His Arcana is ‘The Moon’.
It has the meaning of latent danger, unseen malice and deception.
Gregorio is literally the most lunatic villain in this world.
“Genesis, what are we going to do about that guy?”
Enrique, who finished listening to my story, asked with a disgusted expression on his face.
“From what you’ve told me, that guy seems seriously dangerous. He’s the type I hate. At least, it seems that he will be very troublesome for us who usually settle things with violence.”
“Don’t worry, I have a plan.”
I don’t know why I’m being included in the ‘muscle head’ group, but I decided to ignore that part.
“We have significantly reduced the numbers of the ‘Bright Night Helle Nacht’. So, there should be an opening for us to get an advantage.”
That’s right.
No matter how smart Gregorio is, having his forces reduced, he must be finding it difficult to make a move at the moment.
Moreover, I have the confidence that I’m fairly good at negotiation, as I was able to manipulate Iris with my brilliant conversational skills.
“I see.”
Enrique nods with a serious expression on his face.
“Now that our enemy’s number has reduced, are you planning to break into the city hall and crush them all at once? That’s sounds like a great plan, I like that.”
“…hey, listen.”
This guy seems to be a pure muscle head.
Do you think I’m some kind of ridiculous incomprehensible monster?
It’s hopeless.
Whenever I’m with this man, I feel like my peaceful life as a mob is getting further and further away.
“Hey, Enrique.”
I call out to him as I look around.
“It’s almost early morning. Using your magical power recklessly will disturb the neighbourhood, won’t it?”
“Ah, now that you mention it, I guess so.”
“Right?”
Gregorio is running out of pawns, and I don’t want anything to do with him.
Even if I confront him as Genesis, it would be meaningless.
After all, I don’t want anyone to be interested in not only me, but the Randall family itself.
That’s why, my family need to stay inconspicuous.
That’s right.
In other words, what I need to do is—
“Take off this mask and have a calm one-on-one conversation with Gregorio as Ultos. Maybe over tea would be nice. We should maintain control of the situation.”
Then, I’ll have to ensure that he won’t stalk me for the rest of my life.
I will need to have him sign a non-aggression agreement with me.
That’s the only way.
The meeting that will determine my fate is about to begin—
Author’s Note:
