Scum-lesse Oblige, I Have Been Reincarnated as a Scum Villain in an 18+ Game World, and I Absolutely Want to Grasp the Mob Life with the Power of My Knowledge of the Original Story - Chapter 34
A Man’s Resolve
“There’s another exit through the back of this cave. Get out of here.”
I look at Bard who told me so.
“Eh?”
“Because you…”
Bard just took a heavy blow from me, his wound is still fresh.
Even now, he is trying to stop his wound from bleeding.
However,
“There is no need for pity, Genesis.”
Bard says so.
For some reason, he has a cheerful expression on his face.
“Hehehe, I might have been just like you once. Despite my appearance, I have earnestly sought justice more than anyone else.”
“[Shadow]…”
I muttered Bard’s nickname…along with a question pop in my head.
What are you trying to say?
“I’ve discarded that name. Now, I’m just Bard.”
Seemingly having made a resolve, Bard said so.
“For a long time, it felt like I was walking in darkness. It seems I had truly forgotten something important, even though that important thing is right in front of me all along. –Genesis, the masked hero. How ironic…your light reminded me of my past self who was once in the shadows.”
“……”
“……”
Silence.
“…I see.”
It’s no use. I can’t understand what he’s saying at all. He’s just too poetic.
Light, shadows, heroes, darkness.
Just what in the world is he talking about?
Seems like my assumption that he is on par with Enrique is true.
Surely, this Bard is a troublesome type of chuunibyou who keeps saying profound and cool-sounding things, unlike Enrique who straightforwardly flaunts his strength.
I’ve used the tactic of saying profound and meaningful things to Iris myself, but experiencing it from receiving end, it turns out that it’s really stressful when you can’t understand the meaning at all.
“Hmph, that silence…are you trying to say that you can’t bring yourself to leave me behind? You’re really naive.”
Perhaps thinking that he won’t get anywhere with me, Bard turns around and calls out to Iris.
“I’m sorry, young lady. I’ve caused you a lot of trouble. However, I have a favour to ask—please take this fool out of here. If you move that rock there, a small path will open.”
“B-But, what about you…?”
“Please, I’m begging you.”
“Alright…I’ll take responsibility and make sure we get out of here safely!”
“I’m sorry, I appreciate it. This idiot seems to still worry about me. Take him out of here. Once you go through the back, you’ll come out near Haven village.”
Bard laughs as he says so.
“Let’s go, Genesis. There is no need for tears to say goodbye! Hurry up!”
For some reason, Iris urges me so.
“…y-yeah.”
I don’t understand why I’m so worried about Bard, but I have come to a conclusion that he will be fine.
Well, if you think about it, the knight order is an organization of justice.
There’s no way they would beat up a battered and bruised man like Bard.
Moreover, Bard is in a quite bad shape.
He should have no more energy to fight against the knights.
It should end peacefully.
While thinking about such things, I move the rock Bard told us about and a small path opened.
It seems to lead somewhere.
Iris enters the path first.
“Come on, Genesis. Let’s go…”
However, I can’t take my eyes off Bard, who is walking towards the entrance of the hideout.
Somehow…I can’t help but to feel sorry for him.
“Hey.”
I call out to Bard.
“What?”
He replied so without turning around.
“…well, it was a great battle. Let’s have a rematch sometime.”
I truly feel that way.
Certainly, Bard is a bit poetic and eccentric. Suddenly licking his blade, making me question is sanity.
However, I genuinely enjoyed the fight.
I’m not the type to find joy in battles, but it was truly a great fight.
“…hah.”
A moment of silence.
“…yeah, sure. But the next time we fight, I’ll be the one to win, Genesis. Remember that.”
With those words, he leaves.
“Let’s go, Genesis.”
With that, I start to go into the path quickly, following Iris.
I bend down and proceed through the narrow passage.
—after everything settles down, I might as well have a mock battle with Enrique to hone my abilities.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Following Iris through the long, narrow passage, I crawl my way out and finally breath in the fresh air.
We arrive at a place that seems to be a small hill.
“Phew…we finally made it out.”
“Yeah…”
However, walking through that passage feels like walking through hell.
It was because of Iris’ butt.
Thanks to her regular training, the main heroine, Iris, has an exceptional body. Especially her lower body.
Because of the path we were walking through was really narrow, inevitably, I found myself continuously gazing at Iris’s butt as she led the way.
“…hah.”
I can’t help but to let out a sigh of relief.
To be honest, my most formidable enemy tonight was Iris’ butt.
I couldn’t help but to stare at that exceptional butt the whole time.
Even though I had come this far as a mysterious masked stranger, that butt seemed to ruin my resolve.
It was truly terrifying…
In an attempt to dispel impure thoughts, I desperately recall the image of Rain, a burly middle-aged man who appeared in the game’s bathing scene with his bare upper body.
And then…
Iris who is looking around suddenly exclaimed,
“Uwaa!”
I look at the direction Iris is pointing.
“It looks like something amazing is happening in Haven village.”
Saying so, Iris smiles gently.
Under normal circumstances, I would be taken aback.
However, at this moment, I can’t even perceive her beautiful smile.
That’s because—
“It looks so lively and fun…are they really having a party at this time?”
“…it seems so.”
Ahead of my line of sight, where Haven village should have been devastated by the thieves and turned into a scene of tragedy, is playing lively music, completely contrary to my imagination.
“……”
The only thought that crossed my mind is,
‘There’s absolutely no doubt that he’s involved in this.’
Yup, I’m talking about that guy, Enrique.
I do remember asking for a happy ending, but I don’t recall ever asking him to have a party in the village after repelling the thieves…
Author’s Note:
Main Character à Doesn’t realize that he is a muscle head himself.
Bard à Is grateful to the masked hero for reminding him of his former self, which was fill of dreams, but because he is poetic, he failed to convey his feelings to the masked hero. Despite being heavily wounded, he fought against the knight order for the sake of the man who reminded him of his beliefs. However, the protagonist assumed that he surrendered himself to the knight order peacefully.
Iris à Has a nice butt.
Enrique à the one who started the banquet.
