Chapter 67: Yusuke Became an Ss-rank Adventurer

There were two things I learned from this incident.

I was still young and lacking in experience in life but after reading the comments on my videos, I was able to learn from their experience. Mostly from those older people in their 20s and 30s. I learned that I wasn’t the only one being treated unfairly by other people.

There were people being bullied at school, exploited by black companies, harassed by their bosses, suffering from domestic violence by their partners, and so on. 

Whether non-ability or ability users, each of them were burdened with suffering heavy enough to make them wishing for death. And apparently those people were able to find their peace from the existence of Ranko-san and me. 

Our actions had led to the downfall of the powerful figures who had been sucking this country dry. The people with vested interests had been thoroughly destroyed by people deemed as the lowest in the society, incompetent people who had been scraping at the bottom. 

Therefore, it was only natural for other important individuals to feel a sense of crisis. For example like the manager of a company or even the CEOs.

Instead of silently enduring harassment, like being forced to work overtime without being paid or other numerous injustice practices carried out by the companies, people began to expose those bad people on social media and NowTube. 

From there, the personal information of the important individuals got doxxed on the internet. They ended up receiving numerous threats. Even their children weren’t safe from the people’s wrath. Terrified for their life, they didn’t only pay back the things they owed but they also increased their employees’ salaries.

This kind of phenomena spread like wildfire in society. Not only one or two companies were affected but numerous companies. A certain economic commentator even said if this kind of phenomena continued on, the income distribution rates and the GDP of this country would skyrocket. 

I couldn’t really understand what they were talking about since economic jargon was outside of my expertise but I knew they meant the economy of this country would be improving. 

Indeed. Now, ordinary ability users could take on requests that had been monopolized by the influential people before. Those people who had been forced to live in poverty could now have a decent life. 

It seemed things were changing for the children who were bullied at school as well. From the comments I read, the children who were considered as the outcast were facing relentless bullying from the popular children, so much so that the bullied were considering suicide.

But after the bullied children came to know about me and the Blood Queen, they decided to change their mind. Instead of suicide, they decided to destroy either those children who had been tormenting them or the things those popular children valued the most.

I heard one particular child stabbed the children that had been bullying them multiple times, severely injuring the bully. Similar incidents have happened more frequently lately. As a result, the bullying case severely decreased. Of course, the number of black companies in this country also decreased significantly. 

One particular thing became clear to me. There were a lot of kind people in Japan. Until now, the people had been enduring silently without any complaint despite receiving harassment from those cruel higher-ups.

No matter how tough their life was, they put on a fake smile and kept being kind to people instead of blaming the incompetent leaders. 

However, that wasn’t true kindness. 

Kindness that destroyed oneself was nothing but a seed of calamity. 

And so, I believed it would be best to observe from the sidelines for a while longer. Balance was important. I planned on letting the people do as they pleased until the imbalance reached its equilibrium. 

Still, if time passed and the power from the side that used to be powerless grew too strong, the Blood Queen would likely intervene. Ranko-san wouldn’t let the balance to shift too far in another direction. 

Well, rather than worrying about the future, it’s better to cherish the present instead.

The receptionist smiled as she handed me my explorer’s ID.

Sensing my dejected expression, the receptionist tilted her head to the side.

To be honest, I didn’t feel that enthusiastic.

Personally speaking, I didn’t see any problem remaining as non-ability people in the eyes of society. However, my viewers, Rie and the people from the Tsutsuji family urged me to get officially recognized. Moreover, the government officials had been begging me earnestly  too and so, I became an SS-rank explorer without undergoing any test whatsoever. 

I stepped outside. The air outside felt refreshing against my skin.
