Chapter 57: “Maybe I Won’t Lose to the God of Thunder?” ①
Natsuki’s Holy Sword was the pure embodiment of lightning.
Because of that—its shape was completely fluid.
At times, it could manifest as a simple lightning strike. Other times, it could take the form of a sword, a spear, or even an arrow.
But that wasn’t all the Holy Sword could do.
Being chosen by the Holy Sword didn’t just give Natsuki a divine weapon—It enhanced his power to another level.
His physical strength was now god level. His body healed on its own, even without using magic.
His body healed on its own, even without using magic.
But even so—
The true essence of the Holy Sword lay elsewhere. It could merge its existence with pure lightning itself.
A terrifying power—one that even at his peak, Natsuki had never fully mastered.
Even now, he couldn’t use its full potential.
And yet—
At this moment.
With his own power forcibly drawn up to 60%—
And the Holy Sword’s strength stacked on top of that—
Natsuki was now far beyond what he had been when he fought Susanoo-no-Mikoto.
That battle had been crucial.
It had expanded the limits of his power within his 14-year-old body.
And because of that—
He was stronger.
■
The Holy Sword and Mjölnir collided—And a shockwave ripped through the divine realm.
Winds howled, roaring like a raging storm. The ground shattered. Trees were ripped from their roots and sent flying.
“Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh!!!”
Thunder God Thor gritted his teeth, his right arm bulging as he poured every ounce of his strength into Mjölnir.
Golden lightning burst from his body—Crackling wildly, scorching Natsuki’s skin.
But—Natsuki didn’t even flinch.
With just one hand, he held the Holy Sword—Divine Thunder, and completely stopped Mjölnir’s strike.
A god and a human—Fighting on equal ground. An impossible sight—Yet here it was.
Thor was fighting with everything he had.
Just as he had against the Giants—
Just as he had against countless foes before—
He was attacking to kill.
Yet—
Natsuki didn’t budge. Even as lightning scorched his flesh—He didn’t even blink. He simply stared—Cold. Unshaken.
Thor shuddered. Because for the first time—Natsuki had erased all emotion.
“—Let’s do this.”
Natsuki’s voice was barely a whisper.
And with just one step forward—
Thor was pushed back three steps.
Instinctively—
He brought up his left hand to reinforce his grip on Mjölnir.
“Impossible.”
Thor was losing in pure strength.
A god—at full power—Was being overpowered by a human.
He cursed Mjölnir’s short handle.
If it had been just a little longer, he could have gripped it with both hands and held his ground better.
Looking back—There had been very few warriors in history who had pushed him this far.
And now—This one boy was forcing him back.
With just a slight increase in strength—Natsuki’s grip sent a sickening creak through Mjölnir—Like the weapon itself was crying out.
And then—Thor’s body was shoved back even further.
He gritted his teeth, clenching his jaw so hard it felt like his molars might shatter.
He dug his heels into the ground—forcing every muscle in his lower body to resist.
But—
It didn’t matter. Natsuki’s sheer physical strength alone was too much. No matter how hard Thor tried to hold his ground—Natsuki kept forcing him back.
He wasn’t even moving his legs. Yet Thor’s massive frame was being dragged—carving lines into the earth.
If he even let up for a second—Natsuki’s Holy Sword would cut him down—And send him flying.
As a God of Thunder, as a Warrior, Thor refused to let himself be overpowered.
“NUOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!”
Without thinking, without a plan, Thor roared and stepped forward.
But, Natsuki didn’t move.
In the end—All Thor accomplished—
Was pushing himself further back.
“It’s time to end this, Thor.”
The moment Natsuki spoke those words—An even greater force pressed down.
And then—
“—No way.”
With just one final push—
Mjölnir shattered.
“—Impossible.”
Mjölnir—”the Crusher”—A weapon that had literally obliterated countless enemies.
The hammer that had crowned Thor as the strongest god in the sky.
And yet—Even with Mjölnir in his grasp—Even as the God of Thunder—
He had lost.
To Natsuki Yura.
And to the Holy Sword—Divine Thunder.
“BUT IT’S NOT OVER YETTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!”
Thor was a warrior. A true warrior.
Just because his weapon had broken—Didn’t mean he would admit defeat.
Even if he lost an arm—Even if he was reduced to just a head—He would keep fighting.
Mjölnir may have been shattered—But Thor’s grip on it remained firm.
It was no longer a hammer—But as a blunt weapon—It would still work.
At that moment, Natsuki had just swung his Holy Sword.
Which meant—He was wide open.
Thor didn’t hesitate.
He swung the broken Mjölnir down—Aimed directly at Natsuki.
And yet, Natsuki saw it coming.
Clearly.
He tracked Mjölnir’s descent with his eyes and instead of dodging, instead of blocking—
He grinned.
In a move no sane person would ever make—As Mjölnir came crashing down—Natsuki met it with a headbutt.
