Chapter 55: “A Fight with the God of Thunder?!” ③
“Whoa—this is insane! …Also, it freaking hurts!”
The lightning unleashed by Thor tore into Natsuki’s skin, scorching and gouging deep wounds.
His T-shirt was shredded in several places, blood seeping through the fabric.
“…Good thing this was just a 500 yen T-shirt.”
Even now, he still had enough composure to crack a joke.
But to conserve his magic, he decided not to use healing spells.
(This is where the real fight begins.)
Fighting the God of Thunder wasn’t something he could afford to hold back on—
But without the Holy Sword’s backup, he could only unleash half of his peak strength at best.
No matter how much Thor powered up—
Natsuki had no choice but to hold his ground as he was.
(Still… I would’ve liked to fight him at full power.)
He might have been summoned as a Hero, but he wasn’t a warrior or a knight.
And yet—
The fact that he couldn’t go all out against Thor frustrated him.
(Not that it matters—I’m still winning!)
Losing wasn’t an option.
There was no way in hell he’d let himself lose this fight.
“—Kept you waiting, huh, Natsuki?”
“Oh yeah, I’ve been waiting.”
Thor stood before him—
His red cape billowing, his body crackling with golden lightning.
The sheer power radiating from him was far beyond what Natsuki had imagined.
Comparable to Susanoo before drawing the Ame-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi—
And definitely stronger than Mammon.
A single drop of sweat trailed down Natsuki’s forehead before he even realized it.
“It’s been a while since I’ve had a real fight. Peace is nice and all, but for a warrior—things can get a little dull. So come— entertain me!”
Thor didn’t run. He didn’t jump. He didn’t even fly.
The God of Thunder simply walked forward, straight toward Natsuki.
“Let’s settle this with our fists. The rules are simple—whoever dies first, loses!”
“…Now that you mention it, I think I read somewhere that Thor’s got a bit of a temper. You used to be a pretty easygoing god, but… looks like something just flipped your switch, huh?”
Natsuki, too, walked forward to meet him head-on.
He might have been limited to just 30% of his power—
But even so, lightning surged around his clenched fist.
“Not bad lightning.”
“Same to you.”
A towering, muscular Thunder God. A lean, small-framed Hero.
They stopped in place.
Thor looked down. Natsuki looked up.
On the surface, the difference was obvious—Natsuki seemed physically outmatched.
No—Even in terms of raw power, Thor might have had the edge.
But that didn’t matter. That wasn’t a reason for Natsuki to back down.
“Come, Natsuki Yura! Quench my thirst for battle!”
“Sure— I’ll drown you in your own damn blood!”
Lightning-cloaked fists—
Hero and The God of Thunder—
Their punches collided, striking each other square in the face.
〜〜Afterword〜〜
Thor’s currently at 8 out of 10. But the moment he picks up his hammer—he jumps to 12.
Look forward to it!
