Chapter 53: “A Fight with the God of Thunder?!” ①
The divine battlefield prepared by Amaterasu was a vast, open land brimming with sacred energy and untouched nature.
“Whoa! The sun looks way bigger than usual!”
“Magnificent! As expected of Amaterasu-dono’s divine domain!”
The sheer scale of the space made it hard to believe it had been created in an instant.
The scent of grass and trees filled the air, and in the distance, the sound of a flowing stream could be heard.
“But, uh… it’s kinda hot in here.”
It was mid-April, yet inside this divine realm, it felt like the middle of July.
Natsuki shrugged off his blazer and dress shirt, leaving himself in just a black T-shirt.
“Still, a fight with the God of Thunder, huh…”
“My apologies if it feels forced upon you. But still—To have the chance to battle a warrior of your caliber in this era… I am truly grateful.”
“Well, that’s… flattering, I guess. Man, I swear—trouble just loves me. I mean, I’m actually a pacifist, you know?”
—At that very moment, from a distance, Koume and Ginko, who were sipping tea at a round table, suddenly yelled in unison—
“THAT’S A LIE!!!”
Natsuki ignored them.
For the record, Nancy wasn’t here.
She had stayed behind at the Yura household to wait for Jack, Satan, and Haruko to return.
The only ones watching this battle were Koume, Ginko, and Leviathan.
“I hate fighting, and I hate pain even more. But above all—going out of my way to fight a battle I already know I’ll win is just a hassle.”
“—Oh?”
The words sounded nothing like the Natsuki who had been insisting he didn’t want to fight Thor just moments ago.
Natsuki wasn’t someone naturally inclined to battle.
Even when it came to fights, he only got stronger because he had no choice—because he was dragged into them.
His current strength was nothing more than a necessity—something he gained just to survive and return home from that absurdly unfair otherworld.
“Of course, I’d love to experience some of Earth’s legendary fantasy firsthand. And yeah, fighting a god sounds kinda fun. But let’s be real—I’m gonna win, right?”
“A bold claim. But I’ve fought in countless battles—I won’t be baited by mere provocation.”
“That’s a shame. Still, I’m winning this.”
“Impressive spirit. Even among the giants I’ve fought, none were as strong as you.”
Thor grinned broadly, clenching his fist with a powerful crack.
“You sure you don’t need that fancy hammer of yours?”
“And what of you, Natsuki-dono? I wouldn’t mind if you showed off that Holy Sword of yours.”
“Holy Sword-san’s out on vacation. Also, if we’re about to throw hands, you can at least drop the formalities and call me by name.”
“Fufufu… Very well, then. I shall call you Natsuki. And I’d like you to call me Thor.”
“Sounds good!”
They exchanged smiles—
And without a word, the fight began.
“Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh!!!”
“DAAAAAARRAAAAAAASHAAAAAAA!!!”
Thor’s massive, log-thick arm swung forward—his fist smashing straight into Natsuki’s face.
At the same time—
Natsuki’s whip-like kick lashed out, striking Thor right in the groin.
〜〜Afterword〜〜
The moment a fight starts, Natsuki-kun flips a switch and turns into a cocky little brat.
Ginko: “Kinda wanna put him in his place.”
Koume: “Yeah, he needs to learn.”
Leviako: “He’s beggin’ for it.”
Holy Sword-san: “…Wow. Y’all are weird.”
