Chapter 47.6: Interlude – “Even GOD Have It Rough, Huh?”

At a quiet corner table in the Mukaijima City café The First Wife, GOD—the God among gods—was trembling violently.

“Hawawawawawawawawa…!”

Even the hand holding his coffee cup was shaking, causing coffee to spill onto the table.

“…Hey, can you not make a mess? Cleaning that up is a pain.”

Lilith—Koume Lucifer’s mother and one of the big names among demons—sighed.

Her face was obscured by a radiant glow, but even so, she couldn’t quite hide her unease at the sight of GOD losing his composure.

She casually tossed a towel at him.

“My apologies. Something so completely unexpected just happened that I… panicked a little.”

GOD took the towel, wiped the table, then downed the rest of his coffee in one gulp.

“—Phew.”

“So? What happened?”

“…The world that Natsuki Yura-kun was summoned—ahem, kidnapped—to as a hero… has been destroyed.”

“Oh. Well, isn’t that a good thing?”

Lilith’s response was shockingly indifferent.

A world getting wiped out? Happens all the time.

Even Earth would eventually face its end.

It was just the natural order of things.

So really—she saw no reason to be surprised.

“Personally, I couldn’t care less. That world kidnapped both Natsuki-kun and Yusuke Sado-kun, so honestly? Serves them right for getting wiped out. But… the higher-ups don’t see it that way.”

“The higher-ups? You mean—“that” higher-up?”*

“Yes. That higher-up. I just got a message from them a moment ago.”

“Wow. Even the big bosses have gone digital, huh?”

“It seems that the destruction of that world has caused ripples, affecting Earth and various other worlds.”

“But… it’s already gone, right?”

“Yes. Which is why—they’re temporarily rewinding time.”

“…Hah?”

“I don’t really understand the mechanics myself, but apparently, the world is being forcibly ‘corrected’ to maintain the balance. We mere gods have no way of interfering with what the higher-ups decide.”

“Okay… but doesn’t that mean it’s not really our problem?”

“That’s exactly the issue!”

With a loud bang, GOD shot to his feet.

“The world in question was an unmanaged lawless zone because the Demon God overseeing it went completely insane. Even if time is reversed, it won’t be some convenient, perfect reset.”

“Yeah, yeah, just get to the point already.”

“Natsuki-kun will be sent back in time to the moment he killed the Demon God and returned to Earth. And on top of that—I’VE BEEN MADE THE NEW ADMINISTRATOR GOD OF THAT DAMN WORLD!!!“

“Oh. Cool.”

Lilith, utterly uninterested, simply returned to the counter and continued prepping for the café’s opening.

“…This is quite troublesome. That world ultimately met its end because a bunch of idiotic humans decided to use their so-called ‘ultimate weapon’—which, of course, backfired spectacularly. Not only did they wipe themselves out, but they dragged the demons down with them, turning the entire planet into a wasteland where nothing can survive. Honestly… it might be best to just get rid of the humans and let the demons take over.”

GOD let out a long, exhausted sigh.

“As much as I personally disapprove… I may have to ask for Natsuki-kun’s help.”
