Returned from Another World, Earth Turned Out to Be Quite the Fantasy Too. Also, Losing Heroines, Stop Looking This Way. - V4 Chapter 47
Chapter 47: “Going to Check Things Out, Right?” ③
“Well, for now, just take it easy tomorrow. Then, come back to school the day after. While you were gone, I went to the yokai village with Senju-san and Yusuke-kun, met some psychics in Kyoto—it was nonstop events, man.”
“What the hell? That makes no sense!”
“Don’t worry, it doesn’t make sense to me either!”
Even without Kazuto around, Natsuki’s life had been packed with chaos.
Still, he had really wanted Kazuto to come along to the yokai village, so he figured they could all go together again sometime.
“Natsuki-kun, are you free tomorrow?”
“Super free!”
“No, you are not. Tsukuyomi-sensei specifically asked me to bring you to school if possible.”
Miyako shut him down immediately.
But Natsuki showed zero signs of caring.
“He said ‘if possible,’ so it’s fine. Kazuto’s more important than school!”
“…Fine. Just for tomorrow, then.”
“Yes, Mom.”
“Uh-huh, congratulations. You now have a very large son.”
Miyako sighed, but in the end, she didn’t press the issue.
She understood that Kazuto had just lost his brother.
So, for now, she’d let Natsuki’s truancy slide.
“Sorry, Natsuki-kun, Mama Miyako.”
“…Kazuto-kun, you really don’t need to play along with that.”
“Okayー.”
“So, got any plans for tomorrow?”
“Yeah. I was thinking of heading to the sea. Originally, I was going to go alone, but… if you’re free, I’d like you to come with me.”
“Of course! Since we’re going, let’s do some fishing! It’s been a while since I’ve seen Posei-san, too!”
“Posei-san doesn’t show up much in winter, though. Alright, then—it’s a promise!”
“Yeah!”
Natsuki and Kazuto bumped fists.
“Ah, sorry—my mom just texted. She wants me to head home. There are still some relatives over, and honestly, it’s a pain. They’ve been drinking, too.”
“Ahh, yeah, that always happens after a funeral. Some people get really mouthy… it’s exhausting.”
Even Natsuki wasn’t reckless enough to barge into the Miyahara house and start knocking out rude relatives.
As annoying as it was, Kazuto would just have to put up with it.
So instead, tomorrow—he’d make sure to keep him company and let him blow off some steam.
“Kazuto-kun, Amaterasu-sama was really worried about you. Once you’re feeling a little better, you should come visit the Minazuki house.”
“…Miyako-san, thanks. Could you thank Amaterasu-sama for me too?”
“I will. But if you get the chance, you should contact her directly.”
“Oh, right. I do have her contact info… But wouldn’t that be a bother? She’s the Sun Goddess and a land deity—she must be really busy.”
“Not a problem at all!”
“…That’s actually kinda concerning. But if she’s really thinking about me, then yeah, I’ll send my thanks. Besides, Samatan keeps sending me messages to check in, too.”
Natsuki quietly mused to himself.
So Samatan’s got a head start, huh?
Then again, Amaterasu had one big advantage—proximity.
Samatan was all the way up in Aomori, so frequent visits weren’t exactly practical.
“Thanks for today, Natsuki-kun, Miyako-san. I only had a little time, but I’m really glad we got to meet up. Oh, and Leviathan-san—let’s hang out again sometime!”
“Just say the word! Or better yet, just come over to my place!”
“Same here! You’re welcome anytime!”
“Heck yeah! Next time, let’s go eat some real good food! My treat!”
“Thanks!”
With a grateful smile, Kazuto waved and headed out of the park.
“…He was putting on a bit of a brave face, wasn’t he? No matter what kind of person his brother was, losing family is still painful.”
“Yeah, probably. I can’t really understand it myself… but I just want to do whatever I can to help Kazuto feel better.”
Natsuki and Miyako silently hoped for Kazuto’s recovery—truly, from the bottom of their hearts.
Then, they left the park.
〜〜Afterword〜〜
Kazuto: “So, you’re really a trap?”
Natsuki: “Now that you mention it… I don’t think we ever got solid proof.”
Leviako: “Hmmm. Alright, then! I’ll show you the evidence~!”
Pelorin.
Kazuto: “—oh, it’s real!”
Natsuki: “Traps are the greatest gift to mankind!”
Miyako: “…Why are you two just accepting this?!”
Leviako: “Kyaa~! Miyako-chan, you perv~!”
Miyako: “How is this my fault?!”
