Returned from Another World, Earth Turned Out to Be Quite the Fantasy Too. Also, Losing Heroines, Stop Looking This Way. - V4 Chapter 38
Chapter 38: “Isn’t This a Talk with Tsukuyomi-sensei?”
“Geez, Tsukuyomi-chin, you’re always so serious~”
“It’s only because the other gods and demons are far too reckless. More importantly, school grounds are off-limits to unauthorized personnel. Please leave immediately.”
“But I’m Natsuki-kyun’s wife! That makes me family!”
“Natsuki-kun is still a minor, so marriage is not legally possible.”
“Tch, you got me there, Tsukuyomi-chin.”
“I told you to stop calling me that. The last time my foolish brother addressed me like that, I punched him so hard his face swelled up. Would you like to experience the same?”
“Ahaha, n-no need for that, Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto-sama~”
“…I’m glad you understand.”
It became clear that Tsukuyomi and Leviathan had a relationship where they could trade jabs like this.
“By the way, Tsukuyomi-sensei, why are you on the rooftop?”
“Ah, yes.”
After clearing his throat with a small cough, Tsukuyomi turned back to Natsuki.
“Leviathan sneaking in was part of it, but I was also concerned about how your first day back at school went.”
“Thanks for checking in. I’m keeping up with my studies just fine, though I’ve forgotten all my classmates’ names and faces. But the ones who talked to me seem like good people.”
“I’m relieved to hear you’re doing well academically. As for your classmates, do your best to remember them.”
Leviathan muttered to himself, “Wow, forgetting all your classmates’ names… yeah, I get that.”
He sounded like he had personal experience with it.
For Natsuki, spending years in a brutal otherworld had wiped out any memory of his classmates’ names and faces. The only person he had been particularly close to was Kazuto, so he figured, “Well, whatever.”
That said, he did plan on interacting with his classmates from now on. Slowly but surely, he intended to reconnect.
“By the way… I’m sure you’ll hear about this from your mother, but Yuto Miyahara’s funeral was held today. Your homeroom teacher and I just returned from attending it…”
Tsukuyomi trailed off, carefully choosing his words.
It was clear he was debating whether or not he should even bring this up to Natsuki.
“Sensei?”
“The funeral was a quiet family service, attended only by his relatives. Considering his social circle, I expected someone to show up uninvited… but it was truly silent.”
“I see. How was Kazuto?”
“Saying he was ‘fine’ might sound insensitive, but he was composed. He already knew about his brother’s death, and unlike his parents, he didn’t seem too shaken by it.”
“I’m more worried about his mother and father. No matter what kind of person he was, he was still their family.”
“Yes, they seemed deeply distraught. I greeted them, and while they put on a strong front, I couldn’t help but notice… they also looked a little relieved.”
“…It can’t be helped, can it?”
“No, it really can’t.”
Natsuki knew well that the Miyaharas had long struggled with Yuto’s reckless and depraved relationships.
No matter how many times they warned him, Yuto never changed.
And now, he was gone.
It was only natural to feel some relief that he wouldn’t be around to cause any more trouble. No one could blame them for that.
After all, Yuto had been granted power by the so-called ‘Goddess of Love’ and had used it not just against Natsuki but even tried to kill his own younger brother, Kazuto.
In the end, his overuse of that power led to his body bursting apart from the inside—a pitiful way to go, but entirely his own fault.
Natsuki and Yuto had always been tied by a toxic connection, but to be perfectly honest…
He was glad the bastard was dead.
“Kazuto-kun will be returning to school tomorrow. As his friend, please support him.”
“Of course. Kazuto is my best friend and childhood friend, after all.”
Hearing Natsuki’s immediate response, Tsukuyomi gave a small smile.
“Ah, someone’s coming~”
The moment Leviathan said that—
The rooftop door slammed open with full force.
~~Afterword~~
They’re coming.
That person is coming.
They’re really coming.
They’re actually coming!
