Some of the guys from class had invited him to eat with them, but he politely declined.

Miyako, on the other hand, had insisted on sticking around as his “assigned watchdog.”

But Natsuki had talked her down, telling her that she should spend this valuable time with her friends—

As long as she slapped a shikigami on him so she could track his location at all times.

With that condition, she finally agreed and went off to eat with her friends.

“Still… I seriously don’t remember my classmates’ names or faces. It’s even worse than when one of the Four Heavenly Kings of the Demon Army took an entire village hostage in another world.”

Back in the other world, the Demon Army’s Four Heavenly Kings had been completely powerless against Natsuki.

Desperate, they tried taking hostages—a last-ditch effort in the war between humans and demons. Natsuki didn’t fault them for it. It was a valid tactic. The real problem was… The villagers themselves. 

Instead of pleading for help, the entire village—men, women, and children—spat at him, threw rocks, and screamed: “Go die fighting the Demon King, you otherworlder!”

It was beyond infuriating. It was beyond disbelief. It was in that moment that Natsuki’s hatred for isekai worlds deepened. 

Even as hostages, the villagers cursed both him and the Demon Army—demanding that someone else die in their place.

But Natsuki had never intended to play the hero. So, with zero hesitation—

He wiped out the Four Heavenly Kings… hostages included.

“Man, Japan is peaceful. Back in the other world, fourteen- and fifteen-year-olds were swinging swords, fighting for their lives, or trying to strike it rich as adventurers, only to die in the dumbest ways possible. It was constant chaos. But here? Life is slow and easy. And honestly, this is how it should be. I don’t have to fight alongside those trashy isekai humans—I don’t have to slaughter innocent demons just because some king said so—Peace is the best.”

“…Wow, other worlds sound terrifying. I mean, in light novels, a fantasy world of swords and magic sounds pretty fun.”

“Nah, no way. The world I got thrown into was so medieval it made the actual Middle Ages look civilized. Human morals were garbage. Honestly, if I had been summoned by the demon side, I probably would’ve had a way better time.”

“Yeah, I get that. But, you know—humans have always sucked, no matter the era.”

“Right?”

“Ahahahahahahahahaha—”

“Hahahahahahahahaha—Wait. WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?!”

Somehow, without him noticing, a girl had appeared beside him.

She had short bobbed black hair, giving her a cute, mischievous look.

She seemed to be around his age, with sharp, cat-like eyes and a playful smile revealing her fangs.

But more than that—

She had magic.

It wasn’t that her magic was weak—

It was that she was intentionally suppressing it with extreme precision.

Which meant one thing.

She wasn’t just some random girl.

She was a serious powerhouse.

“Uh, excuse me, but… are you, by any chance, not human?”

“Yeaaah! You got it!”

“A demon, then?”

“Yeaaah! I sure am! I’m one of the Greatest Sea Beasts created by the Gods! One of the Seven Deadly Sins! The Demon of Envy— Leviathan!”

“WHY IS IT ALWAYS A BIG NAME?! Welcome back, Event-san! But seriously—CAN’T YOU GUYS START SMALLER?! You always come in from the top! There’s definitely some even bigger names lurking in the shadows, I just know it! I’d bet on it!”

Once again, another big shot demon had appeared before Natsuki, and he couldn’t help but scream in frustration.

“Oh, by the way, people misunderstand all the time, so let me clear it up— I may be prettier than any girl, but I’m actually a boy! Nice to meet ya! ❤”

“—WHAT?!”

“Oh? Did that get your attention? Are you into femboys, Yura-kun?!”

For a brief moment—

Natsuki let his teenage brain react.

And Leviathan—clearly thrilled—licked his lips in amusement.
