Returned from Another World, Earth Turned Out to Be Quite the Fantasy Too. Also, Losing Heroines, Stop Looking This Way. - V4 Chapter 35
Chapter 35: “Still No Event?!” ③
“What the hell are you staring a—mgh?!”
Before Natsuki could mindlessly snap back at the curious stares around him, Miyako clamped a hand over his mouth.
“Do not say anything unnecessary.”
“Mmmph!”
Once Natsuki gave a reluctant nod, Miyako slowly let go.
“Uh… where’s my seat?”
“Oi, Yura! Over here, over here!”
“Oh, thanks.”
A friendly-looking male student waved him over, pointing at an open seat.
Natsuki dropped his bag on the desk and sat down.
He had been blessed.
It was the window seat in the very back.
The perfect sleeping spot.
“Thanks for the help, Yamamoto-kun.”
“Who the hell is Yamamoto?! I’m Yoshioka!”
“Ah, my bad. I was summoned to another world and became a cheat-level hero, so my memories are kinda hazy.”
Yoshioka let out a solid retort, then flashed a friendly grin.
He had slightly wavy hair and gave off a cheerful vibe.
“You into isekai stuff too, Yura? Kinda surprising.”
“I hate other worlds. I mean, isn’t isekai summoning the worst?! They kidnap Japanese people and force them to fight—and we’re talking about underage kids here. Like, what is this? Child soldiers?!”
“Uh… yeah. I guess you could see it that way. B-but, you know… as entertainment, it’s fun, right?”
“…Yeah, as entertainment.”
“Whoa, don’t say it like that. Haha, Yura, you’re pretty interesting. We were in different classes before, so all I ever heard was that you were childhood friends with Miyahara—you know, the dead guy. I kinda thought you’d be a real piece of work, but… turns out you’re actually a decent dude.”
“Huh? Miyahara… oh, that guy. Pfft. Compared to him, everyone’s a good person.”
“Hah! Fair point. By the way—”
“Hm?”
Yoshioka-kun suddenly leaned in, his voice dropping to a curious whisper.
“Hey, so… the boys’ basketball team got disbanded because they were doing whatever they wanted with a girl, right? Was that you who ratted them out, Yura?”
“Yep. That was me.”
“Damn… seriously? Those guys were all in on it, but now they’re blaming you like it’s your fault. You should watch your back.”
“Thanks. But some weirdo named Ma-kun already came after me.”
“Wait… Ma-kun? You mean Mamiya?! Oh man, I heard he hangs around with some real sketchy upperclassmen. You okay?”
“Yeah, yeah. I just kicked him in the crotch and he shut up real quick.”
“…Yura, you’re a menace.”
“You think so? It’s just like—a greeting, y’know?”
“No, it is NOT.”
As Natsuki and Yoshioka kept talking, more students—both guys and girls—started joining in.
Apparently, the girls’ basketball team hadn’t been shut down, but they weren’t allowed to compete in official matches this year.
The third-year girls had cried over it. All because of one girl’s actions—it was a mess.
The girls didn’t seem to blame Natsuki, but the guys?
Yeah.
They were seriously thinking about going after him.
Honestly, Natsuki couldn’t be bothered dealing with any more of this.
So if they wanted to pick a fight, he’d make sure to teach them a lesson so painful they’d never even think about messing with him again.
Honestly, if they were having that much fun messing around, they should have known the risks involved.
Life wasn’t about having it all—
Eventually, you had to pay the price.
Meanwhile, the girls in class were pretty chatty, asking about Yuto.
But as far as Natsuki was concerned, getting forcibly summoned to another world had been so much worse that anything related to that guy had been completely erased from his memory.
Well—except for the annoying crap he caused.
Other than knowing Yuto was garbage, everything else was just a blur.
Apparently, the girls who used to obsess over “Yuto-kun, Yuto-kun!” had suddenly gone quiet.
Their personalities had completely changed—acting weirdly reserved.
Some even started talking trash about him.
And then, right when all that was happening—
Yuto suddenly died.
It was shocking, to say the least.
But in the end, both the boys and girls had the same reaction.
“I hate to say this, but honestly… it’s better that he’s gone.”
Yeah. He must have been really hated.
“Alright, everyone, take your seats! We’re starting homero— Oh? Yura-kun. It’s been a while.”
“Ah, yeah. Sorry for the trouble.”
“Oh, no, no. Just focus on your studies, okay? You are a senior, after all.”
“Right. I’ll do my best.”
As the homeroom teacher entered, the students settled into their seats one by one.
Noticing Natsuki’s presence, the teacher offered him a warm smile—
And Natsuki returned it.
Just from their tone, he could tell they’d been worried about him.
It was… kind of nice.
“Alright then, let’s begin homeroom.”
And so—
Natsuki’s school life slowly began once more.
〜〜Afterword〜〜
“For now,” it’s just a peaceful, slow daily life.
“For now.”
“For now,” that is.
