Returned from Another World, Earth Turned Out to Be Quite the Fantasy Too. Also, Losing Heroines, Stop Looking This Way. - V4 Chapter 31
Chapter 31: “Time for Some Intel Gathering?” ①
“Good morning, Natsuki-kun!—Whoa, what’s up with you? You look really pale.”
“Good morning, Ginko-san. Just had a bad dream… or, actually, was it even a dream?”
Dressed in a tracksuit, Natsuki walked into the living room and immediately ran into Ginko, who was already awake.
Noticing how sickly he looked, she quickly rushed over.
“Did you have some weird dream or something?”
“It felt like… I was in Kyoto. But also like I wasn’t.”
“So, were you?”
“I have no recollection of that.”
“What kind of answer is that?”
“I have no idea myself. I’m sure I’ve never been to Kyoto, but the dream was so vivid, like I actually lived there. It just feels… unsettling.”
“You should take a shower to wake yourself up. I already got the water heating—do you want coffee or tea?”
“Tea, please.”
“Got it. I’ll have it ready, so go freshen up.”
“Yeah.”
Dragging his exhausted body, Natsuki headed to the bathroom.
“Huh? Is someone in there?”
Hearing the sound of running water, he turned around, thinking about heading back to the living room.
But just at that moment—the bathroom door swung open.
“—Kyaa!“
“Whoa, that’s the most dignified ‘kyaa’ I’ve ever heard. Seriously, that’s not the kind of reaction an old man who’s been alive since ancient times should have.”
The previous occupant of the shower was not Koume—but her father, Satan.
Natsuki had zero intention of stumbling into a lucky pervert situation, but…
Why, oh why, did he have to start his morning by witnessing a middle-aged man’s bare body?
Just the thought made him incredibly sad.
“Ahh, my bad, my bad. Oh, but hey—you don’t look so good. If you’re gonna shower, hurry up and hop in.”
“…Yeah, sure.”
With that, Natsuki switched places with Satan and entered the bathroom.
Almost immediately, a strong floral scent filled the air—probably from the shampoo or body soap Satan had been using.
Natsuki had never really cared about shampoo brands, so he usually just used whatever his mom had around.
Lately, though, the household had grown.
With Koume, Ginko, Jack, and Nancy now living with them, the bathroom shelves were packed with all kinds of products.
Reaching for the first shampoo he saw, Natsuki started washing his hair—
And only after he had lathered up did he realize.
“Ah… this is Koume-chan’s.”
It wasn’t overly fragrant, but once dried, it left the hair feeling incredibly silky.
Up until a few days ago, Koume had been constantly on the move, her clothes worn out, her hair completely unkempt.
But ever since she started living at the Yura household, she had been taking care of herself properly.
Every night, she would join Ginko, Natsuki’s Mom, and Nancy for a bit of girl talk while they did their skincare routine together.
“Man, this is a problem… The Madoka-chan from my dream and the Madoka Abe-kun I met yesterday—they had the exact same face. But if we were that close, there’s no way I would’ve forgotten. No, no, Madoka Abe said his best friend died. So it has to be someone else… right?”
After finishing his shower, Natsuki changed into fresh underwear and threw his tracksuit back on.
Running a quick blast of the hairdryer through his damp hair, he headed back to the living room, where Koume, Jack, and Nancy were already gathered.
“Good morning.”
“Mm. Morning.”
“Good morning, my friend.”
“Good morning, Natsuki-kun.”
After exchanging greetings, Natsuki sat down in his usual spot, and Ginko handed him a cup of tea.
“Thanks, Ginko-san.”
“Nah, it’s nothing. I was making coffee for myself anyway, so just grabbed some for you too. By the way—something on your mind?”
As Natsuki took a sip of tea, Ginko casually asked again.
There was no point in overthinking it alone.
And if it was something supernatural, maybe Ginko would know something.
So, he decided to ask.
“Hey, do you know a psychic named Madoka Abe?”
“Of course! He’s that troublemaker from the Abe family.”
Just as Natsuki had hoped, Ginko was familiar with Madoka Abe.
