Returned from Another World, Earth Turned Out to Be Quite the Fantasy Too. Also, Losing Heroines, Stop Looking This Way. - V3 Chapter 42
Chapter 42: “Reactions from the Big Names?”
—Asgard
The thunder god Thor was fired up.
“Father! Allfather Odin! I am filled with excitement and fury! I want to take this energy and head to Japan!”
The towering youth, over two meters tall, his handsome face full of excitement and curiosity, declared this to his father, Odin, who sat on the throne.
“…Absolutely not.”
Odin, who had been casually tapping on his smartphone, glanced at Thor with his one eye, stroked his beard, and responded in an exasperated tone.
“Why not!?”
“My son, Thor. Recently, your name has been gaining unnecessary attention, Thor!”
“…Was that last part really necessary?”
“It was. Ahem. You are forbidden to go to Japan—or anywhere on Earth.”
“Why, Father!?”
Purple lightning crackled around Thor’s body, showing his frustration.
“I know exactly what you’re thinking. You want to fight Natsuki Yura, the boy who defeated Susanoo-no-Mikoto, right?”
“Of course! His lightning is incredible. I’d love to have a match with him!”
“Not happening.”
“Father!”
“Do you realize what would happen if a god as unnecessarily famous as you suddenly showed up in Japan?”
“I don’t! Humans wouldn’t even notice a god’s presence!”
“Even so! If they figure out you’re Thor, the god of thunder, they’ll be disappointed! They’ll think, ‘Oh, he’s not like the movie at all!'”
“That’s not my concern!”
“I, too, would love to go wild in Akihabara, but I restrain myself to avoid disappointing the Japanese! So why should you get to sneak off?”
“…Well, Father, to be fair, you look nothing like that actor. You just look like a regular old man.”
“Argh! Don’t say such unnecessary things! Anyway, you are not going to Japan!”
Both Odin and Thor had been busy these past few years, appearing in movies and video games.
Especially in Japan, where not only the Norse gods, but gods and demons from around the world—both famous and obscure—had become entertainment icons.
Of course, not all gods and demons were pleased with this trend.
“…I know! I know that Father has been bragging to the other gods about being an overpowered character in games!”
“…That can’t be helped. Even the Great Sage Equal to Heaven always struts around with a smug face!”
“I’m an overpowered character too!”
“Not as much as I am!”
“…Fine then. How about we settle this right here and see who the true OP character is?”
“Very well. Get out your smartphone and card deck! If you can beat me, I’ll let you go to Japan!”
“…Fine. Let’s see just how strong a bored god can become!”
That day, Odin and Thor clashed.
First, they battled through a mobile game. Then, they faced off in a card game. After that, they engaged in a fierce showdown in the latest video game.
The battle raged on for three days and three nights, until finally, a winner emerged.
“…You’ve gotten stronger my son. Very well, you may go to Japan.”
“Thank you, Father!”
“If you like him, bring Natsuki Yura back with you! I’ll give him one of my children or grandchildren!”
And so, Thor, the god of thunder from Norse mythology, set off for Japan.
〜〜Afterword〜〜
Huh? What about other thunder gods, you say? Zeus might already be in Japan, you know?
As for Indra, well, if he showed up, Japan might be destroyed, so that’s not happening.
This chapter might upset some people, but please remember it’s not related to any specific works, and it’s set in a different world.
Please don’t mention it in the comments! Seriously, I beg you!
