Returned from Another World, Earth Turned Out to Be Quite the Fantasy Too. Also, Losing Heroines, Stop Looking This Way. - V3 Chapter 39
Chapter 39: “The Holy Sword’s True Power?” ①
Natsuki was taken aback by Susanoo-no-Mikoto’s soul-wrenching scream.
And it wasn’t just Natsuki.
Koume and Ginko had looks of pure disbelief, giving him icy stares. Senju and the others seemed equally incredulous, thinking, “Is this really the Susanoo-no-Mikoto?”
Feeling the intense gaze from everyone, Susanoo shouted in frustration,
“Why are you all so shocked? Be honest, boys are mama’s boys from the moment they’re born until they die!”
“No, no, no, no.”
“Momotaro was a mama’s boy, Urashima Taro was a mama’s boy, and Kintaro was a mama’s boy too!”
“Enough! Get serious or I’ll beat you up!”
“I am serious! Boys are born from their moms and die for their moms! Moooooommmmmmm! Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!”
“I can’t stand this god anymore.”
Natsuki was on the verge of tears.
Thinking back, Tsukuyomi-sensei was caring towards his students.
Even the lazy Amaterasu was a good god in the end.
But Susanoo? He was something else. His childish provocations and this crazy behavior made Natsuki shudder.
As Natsuki shivered, a ringtone sounded from inside Susanoo’s jinbei.
“Ah, hold on a second, my wife is calling. Hi, Susa-Susa. What? Noisy? You can hear it all the way up there? Sorry. Of course, I love you too, honey. What? You didn’t hear that? Oh, come on. Please don’t cut my allowance! Nooo! Please! What? I’ll have to switch from beer to low-malt beer! I can’t do that! Oh, she hung up. Ahem. Sorry to keep you waiting.”
“…That’s kind of sad.”
“Don’t say it’s sad! Boys are always caught between their moms and their wives! Well, my mom and wife get along just fine, though.”
“I don’t care!”
“One day, you’ll understand the struggle!”
“Whatever!”
As they exchanged their silly banter, Natsuki and Susanoo-no-Mikoto simultaneously kicked off the ground.
“Let’s start over, Ame-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi!”
“Let’s go wild—Sword of Divine Thunder!”
The divine sword and the holy sword clashed.
The holy sword, once cut in two, now firmly held its ground against the divine sword.
Both of them gripped their swords with one hand, then switched to a two-handed grip, planting their feet firmly to exert more force.
“That’s it, boys should be like this!”
“You keep talking about boys! An old man calling himself a boy is creepy!”
“You idiot, I never forgot the heart of a young boy!”
“When was that?”
“…When I secretly peeked at women bathing as a kid.”
“A mother-con, henpecked husband, reckless jerk, and a peeping tom? What kind of god are you!?”
Instead of using his holy sword, Natsuki punched Susanoo, sending him flying.
Susanoo rolled across the ground, covered in red spider lilies, but quickly stood up.
“…I see. Natsuki Yura, you are strong. There’s no doubt about that. I can fully understand how you killed a god in the other world.”
The lighthearted atmosphere around Susanoo-no-Mikoto vanished.
A strong wind began to blow through the previously calm space.
“You get stronger in the heat of the moment, just like me. But, Natsuki, you can’t beat me. Do you know why?”
The wind intensified, and rain started to fall, as if heralding a coming storm.
“I don’t know, why don’t you tell me?”
As Natsuki asked cautiously, Susanoo calmly replied.
“You hardly have any experience fighting opponents stronger than you. You’ve always been strong, overpowering any enemy with your might. I admire and respect that… but it means you’re missing a crucial experience. You don’t know what to do when faced with a stronger enemy.”
“…”
Natsuki neither confirmed nor denied this.
“I’m not saying that’s bad. Even the strong face hardships and endure bitter experiences. I get it. I really do. But… that’s all there is.”
A storm erupted within Susanoo’s divine realm.
Slowly, Susanoo took up his divine sword, revealing a fierce side he hadn’t shown before.
“Natsuki Yura, I respect you. Not many can return after killing a god in a crappy other world! As a man, not as a god, I’m going to kill you with everything I’ve got.”
With his fangs bared and a growl, Susanoo was as ferocious as a storm. But Natsuki, undeterred, grinned confidently.
“Come on, Susanoo-no-Mikoto. I’ll use all the power I have right now to kill you.”
“Ah, this is perfect. I’ve been craving a fight like this for so long. I thank you, Natsuki Yura
Susanoo gave his thanks and raised the Ame-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi above his head.
Dark, stormy clouds covered the sky, unleashing a torrential downpour and turning into a fierce storm.
The storm seemed to grow wilder, as if encouraging Susanoo.
“―Awaken, Ame-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi. Let’s go on a rampage.”
The dark clouds swirled above Susanoo, gathering around the sword.
The immense divine power, combined with the pure force of the storm he had created, radiated an overwhelming pressure.
In the next moment, Susanoo-no-Mikoto brought the storm down from the heavens.
Facing the god’s power, Natsuki, undaunted, stroked his holy sword.
“It’s time for god-slaying. Let’s wreak havoc together—Thunder Blade, Thunder Life.”
Natsuki thrust the holy sword into his chest, unleashing a torrent of lightning that filled the entire divine realm.
〜〜Afterword〜〜
Divine Realm: “Noooo! It’s breaking!”
Meanwhile,
Amaterasu: “Huh?!”
Jessie: “Hey! What’s up, Teruko?”
Amaterasu: “What if we made protein shakes with a beer flavor? They’d sell like crazy!”
Jessie: “No way, that’s not happening.”
In Aomori,
Mammon: “Huh!?”
Samaton: “Did you realize something, Mammon?”
Mammon: “Yes, I just got an unexpected offer from a company.”
Samaton: “No, not that! Wait, really? You got an offer!?”
In Mukaijima City,
Tsukuyomi-sensei: “It seems Susanoo is seriously going all out. But this power from Natsuki-kun…”
