Returned from Another World, Earth Turned Out to Be Quite the Fantasy Too. Also, Losing Heroines, Stop Looking This Way. - V3 Chapter 00: Prologue
Volume 03
Prologue: “A Theft Incident?”
On the outskirts of a small town a little away from Mukaijima City, there was a branch of the Institute.
As Branch Manager Rokusaburo Yamao was finishing his paperwork, his secretary burst into the room as if kicking the door open.
“What’s all this noise? Can’t you be a bit quieter?”
“It’s terrible, Manager! The treasured sword in our vault has been stolen!”
“What!?”
Yamao, though over sixty and physically weakened, kicked his chair aside and stood up.
Without a care for his age, he started running toward the treasury.
“―What a disaster! Of all things, they stole the Totsuka-no-Tsurugi! WHO THE HECK DID THIS!?”
Manager Yamao shouted so loudly that his secretary worried his jaw might dislocate.
It was indeed a serious matter.
The stolen sword was a precious one entrusted to the Institute by the supreme deity Susanoo.
Losing such an item was a major incident.
“Only a few people have access to the treasury.”
“Bring them all here! If anyone hesitates, they’re the suspect! Kill them!”
“But!”
“If not, it will be the end of me!”
He turned pale at the thought of the consequences.
Susanoo-no-Mikoto, as known from myths and legends, was a powerful and fierce deity. Angering such a god could only lead to disaster.
“But who would steal the Totsuka-no-Tsurugi? Even though Susanoo-sama used it, a sword is still a sword. It’s considered divine because Susanoo-sama used it, not because the sword itself has any divine status.”
“It’s not exactly an easy sword to handle either.”
“Above all, it’s picky about its user. Susanoo-sama said he would entrust it to someone capable, but everyone has been rejected. What does the thief plan to do with the sword?”
Both the Branch Manager and the secretary swallowed hard.
“…Manager.”
“Don’t say it! This is going to turn into a massive incident that could turn the world upside down! If our heads roll for this, it would be a small price to pay! Inform the headquarters, tell Susanoo!”
Risking their lives, they reported the loss of the Totsuka-no-Tsurugi. The Branch Manager was scolded, threatened, and mocked by the headquarters staff.
However, Susano-o himself responded with, “It doesn’t really matter. Don’t worry about it, huh!”
It seemed he was in a good mood.
Relieved, the Branch Manager and the secretary collapsed right there after hanging up the phone, realizing they had been so terrified they had wet themselves.
■
A man in his late twenties, clutching the Totsuka-no-Tsurugi wrapped in cloth, walked out of the Institute’s branch heading towards Mukaijima City.
“…I finally got it. It’s mine now.”
A desire for revenge gleamed in his eyes.
Clutching the Totsuka-no-Tsurugi tightly, he let out a twisted smile, feeling closer to achieving his goal.
“―Wait for me, Ginko Aoyama. You took everything from me. I will have my revenge!”
The man’s name was Seishiro Kanna.
He had once lost a cursed sword passed down in his family to Ginko Aoyama.

Because Ginko joked, “Next, it’ll be my turn when a villain appears, and Natsuki-kun will come to my rescue like a prince!”
Next time, God Descends!
