Chapter 76: “Are the Others Watching Too?”

“This is quite the surprise. I knew he was strong, but I never imagined he could defeat Mammon.”

In a certain apartment in the human world, Satan, the Devil, relaxed in the living room, chatting with his son Lucifer, who oversees pride among the demon chiefs.

“…His strength is impressive. If he wasn’t even trying his hardest, that’s honestly scary.”

“If he could use his full strength, even you might not be able to win against him.”

“…I have my pride too, so I wouldn’t lose easily, just so you know.”

“Given his power, we should be wary, but Natsuki doesn’t seem like the type to start fights. He’s close with Koume-chan, so it looks like I won’t have to fight.”

“Good to hear that.”

“Really. It means I won’t have to kill Koume-chan’s boyfriend, Haruko-san’s son. Honestly, I’m relieved because if I had to fight, it wouldn’t end well for me either.”

Satan and his son had been watching everything that happened inside Mammon’s barrier.

When they heard that he had only been using a fraction of his power, they were speechless. They were utterly shocked when they saw half of his true strength.

At least, when Natsuki unleashed half of his power, he was on par with high-ranking demons.

High-ranking demons refer to those strong demons that have left their names in myths and legends, separate from the demon chiefs. 

Among them, the demons representing the seven deadly sins and beings like Samael stand out for their strength. 

However, there are many simply strong demons. Even Mammon is certainly not weak.

Though slightly less powerful among the seven deadly sins, Mammon possesses more than enough power as a high-ranking demon. 

“Everyone will be talking about this for a while.”

“Indeed.” 

It wasn’t just Satan and his son who watched Natsuki’s fight.

Just as Samael rushed to the scene and God intervened, other gods and demons were watching too.

“Those with an affinity for lightning will be interested.”

“It must have caught the attention of the battle-crazy Norse gods.”

“Well, this is going to be interesting.”

Satan laughed as if it was someone else’s concern.

“But I’m grateful. Thanks to Natsuki, it seems all other potential suitors for Koume-chan have backed out. Pathetic. They’re afraid of being killed like Alphonse or getting slashed like Mammon.” 

“Thanks to that, Koume-chan is free. Well, we should be concerned about her marriage prospects, but let’s leave it to Natsuki.”

“Kukuku, Kuhahaha!”

Satan burst into laughter.

He seemed to be so happy and amused that he couldn’t help it.

“What’s so funny to you?” 

“You don’t get it?” 

“No, I don’t.”

“If Koume-chan and Natsuki end up together… then Haruko-san and I become family!” 

“Ugh.”

Satan, true to his nature, was only thinking about himself. But seeing the Devil, of all beings, joyously anticipating such a simple fantassy coming true made Lucifer sigh deeply.
