Returned from Another World, Earth Turned Out to Be Quite the Fantasy Too. Also, Losing Heroines, Stop Looking This Way. - V2 Chapter 67
Chapter 67: “We’ve Returned, huh?”
“…Let’s head back for now. Hey, can you let us out of this space?”
After Ai, the Goddess of Love, was gone, Natsuki and the others, including Mammon, were left behind. Since they no longer intended to fight, there was no point in staying any longer.
When Natsuki spoke up, Mammon nodded.
“…The losers shall follow the winners. However, it’s not my place to ask, but what shall we do with the boy who exploded?”
“Hmm, I wonder? By the way, what happens when this world disappears?”
“This space is merely an imitation. To disappear means to cease to exist. In other words, the boy who exploded will likely vanish as well. Mammon, mammon.”
“I see. What should we do?”
Looking at Koume and the others for their opinion, Koume simply gave a “Who knows?” expression. Since Koume and Ginko had no particular attachment to Yuto, their indifference was understandable.
However, for Kazuto, Yuto was family, his brother. Even though he had always been a troublesome older brother, he surely had some feelings about this.
“I’d like to take him back with us, but… in this state, where he’s barely even recognizable, what are we supposed to do!?”
“Right…”
Everyone agreed with Kazuto’s outcry.
Organs and pieces of flesh were scattered and remained, but essentially, they were impossible to recover. Moreover, searching for them would be incredibly difficult due to the plants and flowers that had grown wildly because of God’s power.
―Fufufufu. It seems it’s my turn to step in―
“If you don’t mind, I can do something about it.”
“Samat… oh, sorry, I mean, Samael-san?”
(Huh? Did I just hear a strange woman’s voice just now?)
Natsuki didn’t know this, but Samael is actually a video streamer known as Samatan, and it turns out Kazuto is one of her few viewers.
Kazuto, unaware of the psychic matters, would have never guessed he’d be acquainted with the Sun Goddess Amaterasu or watching Samael’s videos, making the world seem incredibly small.
(It kind of feels like Kazuto might know some other important figures I’m not aware of… but that couldn’t be, right?)
“It’s fine to call me Samatan. You’re one of my few viewers. …You were called Kazuto, right? Could it be you’re Kazutan?”
“I’m so happy you remember me!”
“―You’re Kazutan! The one who’s been watching my videos since I started streaming! Meeting you here… it makes me so happy. Oh, my apologies. It was thoughtless of me to say that after your brother’s death. I’m sorry.”
“No, it’s fine. It’s all my brother’s doing, anyway. So, can you do something about it?”
“Yes. Although I’m just a bottom-tier streamer now, I… well, it’s not something to be proud of, but I used to be up to no good. I can manage something like a fake corpse if needed. And you there, Psychic, you’re related to the Institute, right? You might have some means on your end, but what do you think?”
Samael addressed Ginko.
It seemed if there were no other options, she was willing to offer her help.
“Yeah, if there was a body left, we could have made it look like an accident, but this time it’s tough. There are cases where even reporting a death isn’t accepted, so we might have to say they disappeared or eloped with somebody. What should we do?”
“I think our parents would accept my brother’s death. Not that they wanted him dead, but they might be relieved that he can’t cause any more trouble. Treating it as a disappearance could leave unanswered questions, which might bother them. More importantly, my brother said he wouldn’t stop with just Natsuki-kun; he even threatened to kill me and our parents. It’s his own fault, but… if he’s dead, I’d like to give him a proper send-off.”
Kazuto’s words set the direction.
“Understood. Then, I’ll see what I can do about his temporary physical form.”
“I’ll talk to Dad and we’ll say it was an accident.”
Thanks to Samael’s power and Ginko’s help, Yuto would be able to return to his family.
Whether influenced by the Goddess of Love or by his own will, Natsuki had no sympathy for Yuto, who tried to harm not just him but also his friends and family.
Without any familial affection and although not said aloud, he felt relieved by his death.
However, since he was Kazuto’s brother, he hoped he could rest in peace after death and offered a silent prayer.
“GYAAAAAAAAAAAAH!”
Natsuki, who was silently praying over Yuto’s pool of blood, opened his eyes at Ginko’s scream.
“What happened, Ginko-san!?”
Thinking that an enemy might have appeared again, Natsuki hurried over, only to find Ginko kneeling in front of her car, looking stunned.
She weakly pointed towards the inside of the car.
Following her direction, Natsuki made a bitter face.
“Ah.”
The car was overrun with vines, and it seemed like Yuto’s blood and organs had splattered inside, staining it red.
“If we bring it back like this, Mom’s going to kill me!”
“Mammon-san! You’re paying for the car repairs, okay?”
“Mammon, mammon. I may be a greedy demon, but I’m also an honorable one who takes responsibility. I’ll buy a new car!”
“No, just restore Mom’s car, please. Oh, but buy me a new car, preferably a foreign one! I’d like one from Germany!”
“…I’ve always thought this, but humans are greedier than demons. Mammon, mammon.”
Mammon, looking somewhat perplexed, dissolved the space that held Natsuki and the others.
A faint light spread across the world, and the next moment, they were back in the bamboo grove leading from the Minazuki family home to the town.
“Wow! We’re back! It’s been too much, but I can’t believe all this happened on a Monday morning! It’s been intense!”
Back where he started, Natsuki checked the time on his smartphone, and it was still eleven in the morning.
“I hope there’s not going to be more events in the afternoon, right!?”
“Hahaha, Natsuki-kun, don’t jinx us. There won’t be more, right?”
Kazuto, who got dragged into this, recalls the amount of events from Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, and even with his broad-mindedness, his face turned pale.
As the two shared a dry laugh, the sound of a motorcycle roaring in the distance reached their ears.
“Eh?”
As Natsuki and Kazuto looked at each other, old lady Unkai appeared, cutting through the bamboo grove on a racer replica motorcycle, dressed in a kimono.
“Natsuki-dono! Kazuto-dono! I’m here to help! Worry not! I have been temporarily made five years younger by the grace of the great Amaterasu-sama!”
“Don’t push yourself too hard, Grandma!”
〜〜Afterword〜〜
Safely returned.
The responsibility for Yuto’s case now rests in the hands of Samatan and Ginko.
Next, we’ll have discussions with Ren and Mammon.
