Chapter 65: “Setting Things with Yuto” ①

“Ugh… Why on earth is he here? And even though I seriously sealed his powers, he seems to have some other kind of power. Annoying.”

When Yuto Miyahara showed up with a young girl beside him, Natsuki and the others were a bit surprised. 

Kazuto, in particular, was the most shocked to see his brother appear, his eyes wide with surprise.

Natsuki had many questions: Why was he here? Who was the young girl beside him? It seemed he had acquired new powers, but did he really have to show murderous intent over that?

However, for Natsuki, Yuto was not a threat, and though he had some fair share of questions, they were all about things that didn’t really matter to him, so his fleeting curiosity quickly faded away.

“I heard from Ai-chan. You sealed the powers of someone chosen, like me. Because of you, Natsuki, girls don’t pay attention to me anymore! Everyone mocks me, and on top of that… my, my that… darn it!” 

“And who is Ai-chan?”

“Here! I’m Ai-chan!”

The young girl beside Yuto happily raised her hand.

“I’m the Goddess of Love! Nice to meet you!”

“Ah, nice to meet you too! I’m Natsuki Yura.” 

“Thank you for the kind gesture. Nice to meet you, I’m Ai-chan. Kazuto-kun, Koume-chan, Ginko-chan, nice to meet you too! Mammon-mammon!”

“―Could it be you’re related to Mammon?”

“Ah, shoot! It’s because I’ve been hanging out with them that I’ve picked up this way of speaking!”

Facing an obviously irritated Yuto, Ai, the goddess of love, and Natsuki were having a relaxed conversation. It was clear from Ai’s “mammon-mammon” that there was a connection to Mammon.

She likely knew that Mammon was plotting against Natsuki and the others, and thus decided to bring Yuto at just the right moment.

(But really… Thanks to God’s power, we’re all in top shape. What does she think bringing such a weakling like him can accomplish? Well, never mind, it’s time to finish off Yuto.)

He had overlooked Yuto multiple times. 

Despite the trouble he caused, the messes he got dragged into, and the unjust grudges he ended up bearing, his interest in Yuto never lasted long.

However, having returned from another world and fed up with its inhabitants, Natsuki found Yuto disturbing. Perhaps it was his awkward possession of power or his luck being mistaken for strength, but he did whatever he wanted, acting as if he was chosen.

Natsuki, chosen by the holy sword as a hero, had gone through nauseatingly eventful experiences, yet Yuto seemed to be living happily. Despite both being chosen, the situation was incredibly unfair. 

Considering Yuto was a close friend and the brother of his best friend, Kazuto, Natsuki had overlooked his actions until now. But standing here now with new powers was a red card in Natsuki’s eyes.

“It seems Kazuto is on Natsuki’s side too. Despite telling you not to get involved with Natsuki, you just wouldn’t listen. While I’m at it, killing Natsuki, I might as well kill you too. And to make things less lonely for you, I’ll send our parents, who mocked me, to the same fate. Look forward to it! Ahahaha!”

“―Shitty Brother, are you out of your mind?”

“Don’t you dare speak to me so casually, Mortal! I have been chosen and loved by the goddess of love!”

“…Loved?”

It seemed only Yuto couldn’t see, but Ai was vigorously shaking her head, indicating he was not loved.

“Also, not really my type, but I’ll take care of Natsuki’s girl too! I’ll mess up all the girls you’ve been with!”

“…If you lay a hand on Koume-chan and Ginko-san, you’ll be saying goodbye to your upper body, lower body, right side, and left side.”

“That’s how you always mock me!”

“False accusation!” 

Whatever power Yuto received from the goddess of love, the power that Natsuki had sealed, the one Yuto originally had, seemed to be stronger.

Kazuto didn’t have a way to fight, and Ginko wasn’t sure of her own power, which made her anxious, but the rest probably didn’t see Yuto as a threat.

However, seeing Yuto and Ai’s confident smiles made it seem like they had more power up their sleeves.

Natsuki purposefully avoided meeting Kazuto’s gaze.

He didn’t want Kazuto to realize he had decided to kill Yuto. Natsuki feared Kazuto might regret agreeing to such drastic action later on.

Even if Yuto had threatened to kill their parents and Kazuto, if there was any doubt about actually doing it, Natsuki didn’t want to cause Kazuto any distress.

He thought it best to take care of Yuto himself before Yuto could do any harm.

“Natsuki… You always seem so carefree. Even though I try so hard to be liked by everyone, it’s only because you’re my childhood friend that people start to notice me.”

“What a load of rubbish to worry about.”

“Hahaha! But, look at the results. All the important people to Natsuki, everyone’s beloved, fall for me and easily give in to me!”

“Uwa, you have no class. And who exactly are my ‘important people’?”

“Huh?”

“Koume-chan, Ginko-san, Kazuto, Jack, Nancy, Mom, Uncle Aoyama, they all stay with me like family. Who are you talking about?”

“…Huh?”

“You haven’t taken anyone important from me. You just made yourself feel better by thinking so. Better luck next time!”

“Natsukiiiii!!”

Yuto’s anger surged, and his spiritual power began to explode dramatically.

“Heh?” 

“I’ll kill you with my power!”

Yuto’s spiritual power, which surpassed Ginko’s and even that of the late god Mizuchi, enshrined in the Minazuki family, was unleashed.
