White Day Special Short Story
Note: Please read this as a White Day story set at any given time. It is not directly related to the main story.
“It’s White Day!”
“Yep, White Day!”
“Ah, yes.”
March 14th.
In the Yura family’s living room, Koume and Ginko were looking expectantly at Natsuki.
Feeling slightly pressured, Natsuki handed over a wrapped case containing homemade macarons.
“Wow! Macarons! I love macarons!”
Huh? These are homemade!? Wow, that’s really impressive!”
Seeing the two of them happy, Natsuki smiled, feeling relieved inside.
Natsuki was initially astonished when Satan called to suggest making White Day sweets together but saw it as a good opportunity and participated.
The pastry teacher was Alphonse, Michael’s son.
Alphonse’s instruction was precise, and even Natsuki, with little cooking experience, managed to make macarons successfully. Normally, macarons are considered difficult to make, but as expected from an angel who won a cooking contest against the goddesses of the North, he made sure even an amateur like Natsuki could produce delicious macarons.
Initially, Satan wanted to make apple pie using “apples received from a friend,” but for some reason, Alphonse strongly advised against it, and even Lucifer came to stop him, leading to an unexpected situation.
Natsuki wasn’t sure whether the issue was with the apple pie or if there was another reason, but despite various objections, Satan ended up making white chocolate quietly.
The intended recipient of Satan’s White Day gift was, of course, Natsuki’s mother, Haruko.
It seems he had received homemade chocolates from her on Valentine’s Day and appeared quite delighted, practically hopping with joy.
Since Haruko occasionally enjoys wine on weekends, Satan wanted her to enjoy the pairing and made several types of chocolates besides white chocolate.
Worried that handmade gifts alone might make him seem too intense, Satan had also prepared wine glasses, subtly arranging them in pairs, probably hoping they could drink together at some point.
Alphonse, planning to have a chocolate party with the goddess sisters, bought some fruits at the shopping district and flew off.
Lucifer, with a clear “I’m not interested. I don’t have anyone to give to,” received a somewhat pitiful look from Satan, who commented, “Truly a lonely guy, huh?”
And so, after Natsuki handed over the homemade macarons, we reached the present moment.
“…Thinking back, we just went with store-bought chocolate, right?”
“We should’ve done something more…”
“But making something complicated would only end up with Natsuki getting a stomachache.”
“Our feminine skills weren’t up to it, huh?”
“Sigh”
“Sigh”
Seeing the sudden drop in their spirits, Natsuki hurriedly spoke up.
“No, that’s not it! I was happy because I got to be fed chocolate by both of you! Being fed like that by two beauties, even the kings of other worlds haven’t had such a privilege!”
“…Natsuki… you know it! Right, right! I’m super beautiful! Ginko may not be as much as me, but she’s pretty too, so there’s hardly anyone who’d get to be fed by the two of us!”
“I did hear something unnecessary there, but I’m in a good mood so I’ll pretend I didn’t hear that! Anyway, Natsuki-kun being satisfied just by being fed is so cute. Big sis here is always ready to feed you!”
Koume and Ginko quickly returned to a good mood, their cheeks blushing slightly in embarrassment, touched by Natsuki’s sincere words.
It goes without saying that Natsuki was happy to have been fed alternately by the two on Valentine’s Day.
Seizing the moment with their spirits high, Natsuki took out something from the item box that would surely make them happy and placed it on the tatami with a thud.
“—And here’s the sweet potato shochu!”
A bottle of sweet potato shochu, a premium-priced item that’s not easily found at its suggested retail price, in a one-litre bottle.
“And then, here’s some whiskey too!”
Another premium-priced item, a Japanese whiskey that’s rarely seen in stores, in a bottle.
“And then, beer, which both of you like!”
He placed a case containing twenty-four bottles with a thud.
The shochu and whiskey were special reserves from Liquor Shop Hanamaru, brought out upon request.
The familiar shop owner was pleased to provide them when told they were gifts for Koume and Ginko.
Of course, being underage, Natsuki couldn’t purchase alcohol, so Satan was given the money to buy it instead.
Being present at the time of purchase might not have made much difference, but they were let off the hook considering it a grey area.
“Well, I wanted to show my gratitude and hoped you would be happy.”
Thanks to the Minazuki family and a few completed exorcism jobs by Natsuki, he had enough money to spare.
It wasn’t a job per se, but rather help provided.
Despite his reservations about giving alcohol, it seemed like the best choice for the duo who loved to drink.
Nervously gauging their reaction, Natsuki saw their eyes moisten with emotion before they embraced him.
“We love it!”
Natsuki was happy to make this White Day memorable, but that night, the living room smelled strongly of alcohol.
