Returned from Another World, Earth Turned Out to Be Quite the Fantasy Too. Also, Losing Heroines, Stop Looking This Way. - V2 Chapter 15
Chapter 15: “A big name just showed up?” ①
“W-whoa, stop right there! Natsuki-kun is still a middle schooler! It’s too early for marriage!”
Ginko, bowing politely, was the one to interject as Lucifer made his declaration.
Lucifer, sensing something from Ginko’s reaction, corrected himself with a smile.
“My apologies. I’ve caused a misunderstanding. It’s not about that. I meant that now that Koume-chan has been seen enjoying herself with Natsuki-kun in photos on social media, various individuals might come thinking of marrying Koume-chan, but with Natsuki-kun around, there’s nothing to worry about.”
“Wait a minute, you damn brother! Why now? Nothing like this has ever happened before!”
Koume looked displeased at her brother’s words, but Lucifer regretfully informed her.
“I didn’t want to say this, but… it’s because Koume-chan has been posting happy photos with Natsuki-kun on social media!”
“―Everyone makes mistakes!”
Koume, acting as if she hadn’t done anything wrong, was immediately countered by Ginko.
“Koume-san, you brought this upon yourself!”
Koume stuck out her tongue in a cute manner, making Natsuki and Ginko decide not to say anything more.
“By the way, Lucifer-san,”
“What is it?”
“Why would someone need to defeat Koume-chan to marry her?”
Natsuki, unable to contain his curiosity, asked a question that had been on his mind.
He didn’t want to be rude, considering there might be unique customs among demons and gods, but the idea of defeating someone to marry them seemed barbaric.
Natsuki felt displeased at the thought that Koume might have to marry someone she disliked if they were stronger and defeated her, as he believed marriage should be about nurturing love between two people who genuinely like each other.
“You seem pretty straightforward, young man. …Regarding Koume-chan’s marriage, I, as her brother, wouldn’t normally say this, but there hasn’t been a boyfriend in sight since ancient times, let alone marriage. Well, if there was, I’d kill him. But aside from that, Lord Satan and God surprisingly agree that it might be time for her to marry. However, she was against the idea. The compromise was that if someone could defeat Koume-chan, they could become engaged to her.”
“No one can defeat me!”
“And, as you can see, she readily agreed.”
Natsuki thought about protesting if it was against Koume’s will, but if Koume agreed, he decided it wasn’t his place to say more. Though it seemed to take advantage of Koume’s slightly arrogant side, he wouldn’t fuss if she herself wasn’t bothered.
“Not that it’s my place to say, but Koume-chan is popular. She used to be famous as a quiet young lady, but many men find the current Koume-chan appealing in her own right. Now that my cute sister has posted photos with you on social media, those who never stood a chance against Koume-chan are openly jealous.”
“Ah.”
“It’s unpleasant, isn’t it? They’re weak, yet their jealousy is fully developed. I could kill them all, but given my position, acting on it could potentially split the underworld, so I’m holding back.”
It seems that there’s a possibility of demons who have fallen for Koume, unable to defeat her, might attack thinking they can win against a human child.
“All we can do is apologize and say we’re sorry. But that’s just how demons are. If Natsuki-kun ends up fighting and killing them, there’s no problem, so please don’t hesitate.”
“Understood! Koume-chan is important family to me, so I’ll protect her. Anyway, the idea of fighting and winning to get a bride doesn’t make sense to me, so I’ll just take everyone down!”
“―tokkun. Eh? Is this… love? I can’t stop shaking.”
Koume’s cheeks flushed at Natsuki’s glowing declaration to protect her, though her body trembled slightly, and she broke into a strange sweat.
“Koume-san… there’s no need to verbally express your heart’s fluttering. And it seems your body remembers the fear from the fight the other day, even if your heart is all aflutter.”
“It’s covering up embarrassment and fear! Get a clue!”
“―tokkun, you said. Koume-san is so cuuute!”
“Damn you, Ginko!”
Natsuki watched the girls’ exchange with amusement, but then he blurted out,
“But, you know, I wonder if Satan and God are really considering Koume-chan’s feelings or not. Isn’t there a better way than just forcing someone on her?”
“That’s a sore point. Well, it’s my fault for not finding a suitable marriage partner for Koume. Forgive me for that.”
“Eh? Who is it?”
Natsuki was startled by the sudden voice.
Even though he knew Lucifer posed no harm, the presence of demons meant he was on the lookout for anyone else nearby. However, the owner of the voice had slipped past Natsuki’s detection.
“I-In the garden.”
Ginko, with trembling fingers, pointed outside the window.
Standing in the garden visible from the living room window was a man.
He was middle-aged but had the look of a distinguished Hollywood star, dressed in a white suit.
He bore a slight resemblance to Koume and Lucifer in his aura.
“I was about to ring the doorbell, but you all seemed to be having such an interesting conversation that I ended up eavesdropping. Sorry for the impoliteness of entering the garden without permission.”
“And you are?”
“Ah. I’m Satan. The Devil, and the petty demon who presides over the sin of wrath among the seven deadly sins. Mind if I join you?”
With a smile, the man who introduced himself as Satan, looking slightly mischievous, raised his hand, and Natsuki took a deep breath before exclaiming.
“This is too big a title! Please come in the proper ranking!”
〜〜Afterword〜〜
Satan makes his entrance.
Perhaps it’s time for sukiyaki?
