Returned from Another World, Earth Turned Out to Be Quite the Fantasy Too. Also, Losing Heroines, Stop Looking This Way. - V2 Chapter 10
Chapter 10: “The Demon-kind Came Out of Nowhere?”
“That was brutal, huh, Natsuki-kun. If this were high school, it’d be grounds for expulsion.”
“Yeah, but even in middle school, it wouldn’t be tolerated. They’ll contact their parents, and they might even have to quit the club. Heck, they might even disband the club. Worst case, some might end up transferring.”
After returning home, Natsuki shared the day’s events with Ginko and Koume, who were relaxing in the living room.
Both Ginko and Koume looked displeased.
Natsuki felt the same.
If Asuka Matsushima ended up transferring, it would undoubtedly make Natsuki’s daily life a bit more peaceful.
“But Miyako Minazuki has really changed, hasn’t she?”
“You knew her?”
“Of course. The Minazuki family and the police have a give-and-take relationship. I’ve greeted her a few times. She always seemed like a lady from a distinguished family. I can’t imagine her snitching to a teacher and cornering someone.”
Ginko seemed surprised by Miyako’s change, having had interactions with her.
Natsuki also recognized that Miyako had changed significantly, but the current Miyako was a friend he favored.
He hoped that her relationship with her sister, Mio, was mending and that the sisters would build a better relationship moving forward.
“How did it go with the two of you? You went to the liquor store, right?”
“Oh, you’ve got to hear this!”
“It was a huge catch!”
“I said to spend five thousand yen, but this angel here went and bought five bottles of liquor priced at four to five thousand yen each!”
“Idiot! When you find liquor usually sold at a premium being offered at the recommended retail price, of course, you buy it!”
“I get that, but that was my money!”
“You’re being too nitpicky.”
“I’m not being nitpicky at all!”
“But you’ll drink it, won’t you?”
“Of course, I’ll drink it! It was bought with my money, after all!”
It seemed Ginko was disheartened by the unexpected expenditure.
In contrast, Koume was beaming with satisfaction.
Natsuki, unfamiliar with liquor brands, had no interest in their haul.
“Anyway, forget about the liquor for now. We got a message from Haruko-san.”
“—Tonight’s going to be sukiyaki!”
“Yay! Meat!”
“Meat, meat! I’m looking forward to sukiyaki. God said it’s the tastiest when made in Japanese homes!”
“What’s this about a God who’s an expert on sukiyaki?”
“He said something about selecting a guardian angel for sukiyaki.”
“Enough already. I’ve had my fill of God talk.”
Ginko, tired of the freewheeling discussion about God, lay down with a weary expression.
“Ah, right. Speaking of which, I heard a new land god is coming soon.”
“A new one?”
“Yeah, seems like it.”
“It’s unusual. The godly kind tend to be quite lazy, so for a land god to be replaced so quickly after vanishing…?”
“…Probably, the gods must have found out about Natsuki-kun’s god-slaying. So, they might be sending a god capable of fighting, partly as a precaution.”
“Nah, that’s unlikely. A god who can casually visit the human realm wouldn’t stand a chance against Natsuki.”
As they exchanged opinions about the new land god’s arrival, they couldn’t come to a conclusion.
Reluctant to be reactive, but it seems they have no choice but to wait for the land god’s arrival.
Natsuki, for one, has no intention of being openly hostile.
Of course, as long as his current life isn’t threatened.
“I’m getting pretty hungry.”
“It’s not even five o’clock yet.”
“I’m starving too. Ginko was being stingy, only let me have hamburgers.”
“If you hadn’t spent all that money on alcohol, we could’ve eaten more!”
The two exchanged glares.
Despite everything, Natsuki smiled, seeing how well they got along.
After an unpleasant experience at junior high, being with Ginko and Koume felt like a breath of fresh air.
“—Huh?”
Natsuki felt something off.
“Natsuki-kun?”
“What’s the matter, Natsuki?”
Ginko and Koume seemed unaware, but Natsuki sensed someone with a suppressed magical power at the doorstep. Furthermore, this magical power was significantly strong, indicating that it was likely not a human.
“—They’re here.”
The doorbell rang.
“Oh?”
Expecting an ambush from outside, they were taken aback by the visitor’s bold approach of ringing the bell instead, catching them off guard. Yet, their guard remained up.
“Hmm? It feels strangely familiar.”
While Koume murmured, Natsuki responded to the intercom.
“Yes, who is it?”
“I apologize for visiting without an appointment. I am Lucifer. I serve as the secretary to Lord Satan in the Demon World and govern the sin of Pride among the Seven Deadly Sins. I am here today to greet you, as I’ve heard my angel Koume is in your care.”
Natsuki, Ginko, and Koume were left agape in astonishment.
They were at a loss for how to respond to the unexpected visit from a significant figure from the demon world.
〜〜Afterword〜〜
God likes Japanese food, especially ginger pork and sukiyaki.
He prefers the sukiyaki that is cooked together at home.
And so, the visit from Lucifer-san.
Next time, the siscon explodes!
