Returned from Another World, Earth Turned Out to Be Quite the Fantasy Too. Also, Losing Heroines, Stop Looking This Way. - V2 Chapter 05
Chapter 05: “It seems like you’re just saying whatever you like, huh?” ②
“It’s alright, really. No one takes her seriously anyway. As a classmate, I think it’s better not to get involved with Matsushima-san. Becoming close with her might lead to misunderstandings.”
“I’m already misunderstood as having an interest in her. Ugh, this is depressing.”
“It’s not just that… It’s difficult to say, but Matsushima-san is particularly friendly with some boys, especially those in the basketball club.”
Natsuki tilted his head, not catching Miyako’s insinuation.
“Isn’t it normal for girls in the basketball club to be friendly with boys in the same club?”
“I wasn’t clear enough. Matsushima-san is friendly with the boys in the basketball club ‘exclusively.'”
“Hmm? What does that mean?”
Natsuki’s puzzled expression prompted Miyako to believe she had to be more direct, and with a slightly reddened face, she whispered to Natsuki.
“It seems Matsushima-san has a ‘relationship’ with some of the boys in the basketball club.”
“…You mean ‘that’ kind of relationship?”
“Yes, ‘that.'”
“Wow.”
Natsuki hadn’t intended to delve deeper, but it seemed to be quite well-known among the girls.
Although it was known that she was quite active with Yuto, when the boys learned that she wasn’t dating him, they approached her, encouraged by the idea that there might be a chance for them. This led to them becoming involved with her. One boy even boasted about it as if it were a heroic tale, triggering a succession of boys making advances and becoming involved with her.
There were also some boys who were turned down, which suggests that Asuka Matsushima does have her preferences. However, her reputation among some boys and girls is quite bad.
(Yuto… couldn’t you have kept her in check? Despite her comparing me to him, she’s going around having relationships with other guys—this is so messed up.)
However, upon hearing this, he could only think that the youth of today are just different, not giving it much more thought than that.
Unless it was a case of assault or coercion, if it’s consensual, then there’s no issue. Of course, he questioned the propriety of being involved with a multitude of partners, but he felt it wasn’t his place to comment on others’ personal preferences.
(But what’s strange is, if she had her pick of partners, why did she come after me? No, I can’t think about this. It’s sick.)
“Anyway, hear me out. I’m going on an amusement park date with Onee-chan this Sunday!”
“Really? It’s great that you sisters are so close.”
“It would have been nice if our mother could join us, but apparently, a new deity has already been chosen to succeed Mizuchi-sama as the land god.”
“That quickly, after just yesterday?”
“Yes, we received a phone call from the higher-ups in the divine realm.”
“…A phone call, not a divine revelation? That’s kind of disappointing.”
He was surprised yet somewhat disappointed to learn that the gods had adapted to modern society.
“The Minazuki family is currently undergoing changes. Although Mizuchi-sama is no longer with us, we hope to continue protecting Mukaijima city with the new deity. I’ve been given some responsibilities as the next head of the family.”
“That sounds tough.”
“One of those responsibilities is… the re-investigation of Yuto Miyahara.”
〜〜Afterword〜〜
Grandpa Nagi: “Ah, hello? Is this the Minazuki residence? May I speak with the head of the household?”
Kaya-san: “Kaya speaking.”
Grandpa Nagi: “We’re sending a new land god, so please take care of the basics for us.”
Kaya-san: “Understood.”
Grandpa Nagi: “We’re sending a big name, so look forward to it!”
Or so the exchange went, supposedly.
As for the re-investigation of Yuto-kun, rest assured, he will not be making a special appearance.
