V2 Prologue: “Isn’t that a bit overprotective?”

In the Demon World, at a certain place. 

“Koume-chan looks cute as always. Just look at my angel.”

Said a middle-aged man dressed in a white suit, holding a smartphone with a sloppy expression on his face. 

This man is Satan, the ruler of the Demon World and its demonic inhabitants.

His real name is Taichiro Lucifer. 

After defying God and falling from heaven, he has been going by the name of Satan.

“Satan-sama, the whole world, no, the ends of the numerous parallel worlds know that Koume is a beautiful angel.”

“Ah, well, I didn’t say that much, but, ah, yes, sorry. Please don’t glare at me.”

The one glaring with a gaze so intimidating that even Satan himself would cower was his son, Lucifer, one of the executives of the Demon World.

Dressed in a gray, classic suit and with his blond hair parted 7:3, the handsome young man’s full name is Pureheart Lucifer.

Although quirky names are common nowadays, his was given by his grandfather, God, promising that “it will definitely become popular in the future” before the Common Era, leading to his eventual rebellion and fall. 

Interestingly, even in modern times, he often gets laughed at by his subordinates, who snicker at his name, saying “Pure… pfft,” causing him to rage in a manner befitting the name Lucifer.

Supposed to embody pride, he often seems more driven by wrath. 

Born as the eldest son of the Lucifer family, his name led him to fall from grace, despite having been top of his class and student council president at the school for angels. 

Even now, due to his brilliance, he assists his father Satan, who has grown tired of the Demon World.

“By the way, Satan-sama. Who are the boy and young man appearing together with Koume on her social media?”

“As you can see, there is a boy and a young man.”

“…Please be serious.”

“Just kidding. The boy seems to be human, Japanese by the looks of it. As for the handsome one, I’m not sure. He looks American… almost like someone you’d expect to see in Roswell, New Mexico.”

“I don’t understand what you mean. What concerns me is who they are, where they’re from, and what kind of relationship they have with Koume!”

“Well, they must be friends, right?”

“Hahaha! Satan-sama, you do say the funniest things. Koume is a graceful lady. It’s too early for her to have male friends!”

Lucifer’s magical power surged, shaking Satan’s mansion.

Given that the mansion wouldn’t budge even if a thousand high-ranking demons attacked it, Lucifer’s power must be incredibly strong to shake it with his magic alone.

“If they truly are just friends, then we must bring a gift and pay a visit to thank them. If they are genuinely getting along with our timid Koume out of pure friendship, as a brother, I’d like to express my gratitude. However! If their intentions are dishonorable—then, regrettably, it might just be time for Japan to disappear.”

“That’s a bit extreme! Wait, wait, calm down. It’s against the rules for demons, especially those stronger than the middle rank, to go to the human world as they please.” 

“That’s just for show. I know that gods and demons are enjoying their retirement in the human world. Shamelessly posting it all over social media. Especially God. What’s with him? ‘Getting angry about being cut in line at a coffee shop, almost smiting them.’ Posts like that!”

“God is God; just leave him be.”

It was always a sight to see Satan, struggling to calm his subordinate and son, Lucifer.

Normally, one would expect the roles to be reversed, but Satan tended to be the one facing hardships. 

“However, the fact that Koume, who used to stay indoors reading books, is now in the human world… We cannot enter the realm of the gods due to our fall from grace, but the human world is accessible. Alright. Let’s go see Koume after a long time and greet these friends she seems to be having fun with.” 

“Hey, wait―”

Before Satan could stop him, there was the sound of flapping wings, and Lucifer had vanished.

“That foolish son of mine. Ah, what if it comes out that I’ve been setting up prospective suitors for Koume without her consent… wouldn’t I be overthrown?” 

Satan remembered that a son or grandson of a demon ruling over various parts of the underworld had shown interest in Koume and proposed marriage. 

Since he had planned to make her fall from grace eventually, he thought it would be good if she could marry someone powerful among the demons. He vaguely remembered saying it would be fine if he could win her over.

Before he knew it, that guy was acting as if he had already won her over, adopting the demeanor of a fiancé. 

It’s good for a young demon to be proud, typical of their youth. However, if Lucifer hears of this, Satan would likely be sent flying, along with that young demon.

He had also heard that there were proposals of marriage coming from angels as well.

“Considering Koume-chan is quite behind even in human terms, I thought I was being considerate… but it seems like it’s only going to lead to trouble. Can’t be helped, I guess I’ll have to go to Japan too. I didn’t want to go because God is there, but since Japan is a popular place among both gods and demons, it shouldn’t be a problem if I keep my power in check.”

Of course, this was a major problem, but unfortunately, there was no one present to point that out.

Satan, finding a good reason to stop Lucifer, decided to leave the dull and boring Demon World for the human realm.
