Returned from Another World, Earth Turned Out to Be Quite the Fantasy Too. Also, Losing Heroines, Stop Looking This Way. - Chapter 36
Chapter 36: “You can just leave the cleanup to me, okay?”
“Um, and you are…?”
” Ginko Aoyama! The daughter of Hisashi Aoyama!”
“What!? You’re his daughter!? I heard he had a child and have been curious about it.”
Natsuki had heard that Chief Aoyama had a daughter but realized he had never actually met her.
He never imagined that the person he had thoughtlessly given the demonic sword to would be his uncle’s daughter.
“Please take care of me for a long time to come!”
“Uh? Yes, please take care of me too.”
Despite the somewhat strange greeting, Natsuki didn’t think much of it and turned to Jack and Nancy.
“I’m glad you guys are safe.”
“That’s our line, my friend. I never imagined the building would collapse. Your power seems to have been greater than I sensed.”
“Well, a lot happened.”
Jack and Natsuki clapped each other on the shoulder, celebrating their safety.
Nearby, Ginko admired them for their high social skills, but as far as Natsuki was concerned, the gentlemanly Jack made it easier to get along, thanks to him.
“Natsuki-san, thank you very much for your help.”
“Not at all, I’m just glad you’re safe, Nancy. I’m sorry some humans have scared you. But not all of them are like that, so I hope you and Jack won’t come to hate humans.”
“There’s no need to worry, my friend. Among us, there are both good and bad individuals. I understand that not all humans are bad.”
“I like humans. I studied human history during my college days.”
“You’re very studious. That’s impressive.”
“Nancy majors in Earth studies. That’s why we chose Earth for our pre-wedding trip.”
Anyway, it was a relief that these friendly Greys didn’t suffer any misfortune. Above all, it was comforting to know that it didn’t escalate into a massive war with the aliens.
“Um, Natsuki-kun. I heard that you joined forces with Jack-something-san to rescue Nancy-san, who was supposedly kidnapped by them. What are you going to do about those guys?”
“We prefer not to make our existence known. Let’s erase their memories with a cosmic device.”
“Kind of makes you think, doesn’t it? Jack and his lady are really nice people, saving those who were about to dissect them.”
“We do not wish for human deaths. While there are unavoidable circumstances, it didn’t come to that thanks to Natsuki. We are grateful.”
“Thank you, Natsuki-san.”
“It’s kind of embarrassing. I haven’t really done much.”
In the other world, no matter how many battles he fought or enemies he defeated, gratitude was hardly ever properly expressed. While people said ‘thank you,’ they looked at him as if he were a monster, and it was easy to deduce that they were thinking of ways to use him.
However, Jack and Nancy truly expressed their gratitude. He felt pleasantly surprised and a bit ticklish.
“Wait, what? Dissection!? They were going to dissect Nancy?”
“Yeah. Death penalty sounds about right, doesn’t it? Also, there was this guy with sunglasses, I think. He was doing something sneaky, trying to prove some god-alien theory.”
“Is that some kind of religion or something?”
“Who knows?”
“He wasn’t wearing sunglasses, but I did confirm there was a psychic. I’d like to handle that person myself. I won’t do anything bad.”
Glancing briefly at Jack, he nodded in agreement.
“Alright, thanks. And please take care of the cleanup as well!”
“The cleanup is the hardest part, huh!? Ah, fine, I’ll just concoct something like a gas explosion or whatever to pin the blame on these guys.”
“Wow, that’s scary!”
“No, but seriously, I’m not sure if we can just erase their memories with some cosmic thing and call it even. I mean, I can’t talk about encountering Greys or anything except to my dad!”
Indeed, even though they were aliens, they were involved in kidnapping, and they likely would have been killed.
Planning a dissection is even worse than a simple killing.
It might be better to just wipe their brains clean along with their memories and give them a chance to start their lives over.
“Well, we can just leave that to my dad. So, who is the one with the burnt wings over there?”
“Uh, calls herself Lucifer.”
“The Morning Star!? That’s a big name, huh!?”
As Ginko showed her astonishment at the big name,
“NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!”
Lucifer regained consciousness.
