Returned from Another World, Earth Turned Out to Be Quite the Fantasy Too. Also, Losing Heroines, Stop Looking This Way. - Chapter 35
Chapter 35: “Isn’t the Name Confusing?” ③
“Cough, cough, maybe I overdid it. I tried to hold back, but she turned out to be quite fragile.”
Natsuki commented as he kicked aside debris, looking for Lucifer. Soon, he found her nearby, cut in half.
Blood and innards were scattered about, with the upper body sprouting pure white wings and the lower half, clad in jeans, neatly separated.
Disturbingly, the lower half was still twitching vigorously.
“You bastard, how dare you split me in two!”
“Wow, impressive! You live up to the name Lucifer, still lively even when cut in half. Considering I held back and you’re still this energetic after being slashed by the demon lord’s beloved sword, maybe it’s fine to test you a bit more, right?”
Natsuki hadn’t used much of the magic he learned in another world or his own powers as a hero.
The incident where Miyako Minazuki was split in two on the school rooftop was with just a magic sword. This time, Lucifer was cut in half with the demon lord’s beloved sword. Of course, the demonic sword absorbed magical power to control its strength, but Natsuki hadn’t yet used his own power.
There wasn’t an opponent to use it on.
But now, there was a non-human before him, lively even when bisected.
It was unclear if Lucifer was an angel or a demon, but since she picked the fight, Natsuki was more than willing to test his strength.
“Oh? You’re healing or regenerating, not sure which, but go ahead.”
As she was enveloped in light, her body began to repair itself, blood scattered around remained, but the flesh was mending.
Natsuki simply watched without intervening, driven by curiosity and no other particular reason.
If anything, he thought it wouldn’t be possible to test his strength if his opponent wasn’t somewhat lively.
“Don’t underestimate me, you’ll curse your own arrogance! My real power starts here!”
“It’s not arrogance, it’s called being confident. If you want to do something about me, bring along about ten more Lucifers with the same power as you.”
“Don’t underestimate the Luciferrrrrrrrrrrrr!”
Though her clothes were torn, Lucifer, with her wings spread, charged straight ahead with foolish directness. This time, instead of a spear of light, she raised her fists, wrapped in light. It seemed she was so infuriated with Natsuki that she just wanted to punch him.
“People with power always charge straight in. So, all I need to do is meet them head-on. If it’s a contest of strength, I love it! —Dance, Thunder.”
Lightning burst from Natsuki’s feet, winding around Lucifer from her feet to the tips of her wings like a snake, scorching her body.
The lightning engulfed her entire body, leaving her unable to even scream.
After releasing the lightning for a while, Natsuki sensed it was time to retract it as Lucifer, her body charred, collapsed onto the rubble.
Remarkably, she was still breathing, likely just knocked out.
Intrigued by the famous name of Lucifer and wanting to ask about various misunderstandings, including being mistaken for a demon, Natsuki decided not to kill her.
“Not sure if I could kill her, though.”
Grabbing the unconscious Lucifer’s right leg, Natsuki kicked away the debris and left the premises of the former building.
Then, Jack, Nancy, and a woman from the police station’s chief’s office came running up to him.
“Ah, hello.”
“Hello? That’s not the point! I just had an encounter with the unknown! What are you going to do about it?”
“Don’t worry, don’t worry. I encountered them just an hour ago myself.”
“Becoming best friends with an alien in just an hour, don’t you think Natsuki-kun’s social skills are a bit too high!?”
Learning that Jack and Nancy were safe, and that the chief Aoyama, a trustworthy person, had sent the woman who was shaken by the encounter with the aliens, Natsuki felt a weight lift from his shoulders.
