Returned from Another World, Earth Turned Out to Be Quite the Fantasy Too. Also, Losing Heroines, Stop Looking This Way. - Chapter 32
Chapter 32: “Not so bad, huh?” ②
“You’ve never brought a boyfriend home either, have you? This is a good opportunity! Natsuki is a good guy. He’s always been supportive of Haruko-san, never losing his smile even when there were problems at home.”
He knew about the new addition to the Yura family, and was also well aware of the troubles caused by the newly adopted daughter.
Hisashi had tried several times to bring his wife and support Haruko, but was gently rejected with a smile, saying “It’s a family matter,” and couldn’t get more involved.
He sometimes invited the tired-looking Haruko and Natsuki for meals, or went out for drinks with Haruko’s husband, but unfortunately, these attempts didn’t end well.
“It’s strange, though, that I didn’t know about Natsuki-kun, whom my father has been taking care of so much.”
“Well, that’s, um…”
Hisashi, usually so direct, seemed hesitant, struggling to speak his mind.
“Was there some kind of situation?”
“No, it’s just… you like younger guys, right?”
“Wha-, hey, what are you saying all of a sudden, I mean, why?”
Ginko was thrown into a panic by her father’s abrupt comment.
Seeing her flustered reaction, Hisashi was convinced.
“Before, your mother cleaned your room and found a cute boy’s—”
“Gyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!”
“Wait, calm down. Your father is understanding. Don’t worry.”
“Don’t worry? That’s a huge invasion of privacy!”
“I’ve checked all your favorite circles and works with your mother.”
“I’m gonna kill youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!”
Ginko’s face was beet red as she drew and held her demonic sword.
She had never imagined that her parents were fully aware of all her hobbies.
In her mind, she hoped desperately that ‘that thing’ she had hidden in the closet hadn’t been discovered.
“But man, the stuff in the closet was pretty intense. I was worried for a while that you might be up to no good.”
“So where’s my privacy!?”
“It’s your fault for not keeping your room tidy. I’ve been turning a blind eye to it because it’s just a hobby.”
“Are you asking me to thank you for that? It’s not illegal, you know! And if you know about my hobbies, marrying me off to Natsuki-kun is out of the question! He’s totally my type! Oh no, I just said that out loud!”
“Of course, I expect you to maintain a healthy relationship. Well, you’ll just have to wait three or four years.”
“Isn’t that just torture? If I get married, let me have my fun!”
“…You are a police officer, after all.”
Hisashi was secretly pleased with his daughter’s not-so-reluctant attitude when his cell phone rang.
Since it was for personal use, he answered without looking at the display, thinking it might be his wife.
“Hey, who’s me? Huh? Scamming the police chief with a ‘It’s me’ scam? Haha, just kidding. But seriously, what’s up? You didn’t… mess up, did you? You did, ugh? Huh? A tight-lipped guy? Well, I’ve got just the person for you right here. Yeah, yeah, I got it, I’ll send her right away. I’ll be there later myself, so don’t do anything too crazy!”
Ginko felt a bad premonition as her father, who had been laughing, suddenly turned serious.
Her premonition was right.
Putting away his cell phone, Hisashi announced the news.
“Hey, Natsuki’s made a mess of things. I’m coming later, but it seems there’s a complicated situation, so go and help him out.”
“Ehh, it’s already time for me to go home, though.”
“Think of it as paying for the usage fee of using the Demonic Sword Jiro.”
“It’s the Demonic Sword Taro!”
“Whatever! I’ll be there later, so just make sure Natsuki doesn’t overdo it.”
“How am I supposed to do that—”
As Ginko was about to protest, a thunderous noise echoed from somewhere, shaking the building.
Father and daughter exchanged glances, turning pale.
“Uh, I don’t want to jump to conclusions, but I just heard some really loud, unusual sounds like ‘boom’ and ‘thud’ from over there… It’s not Natsuki-kun’s doing, is it?”
“—It’s work. Go!”
“Nooooooo!”
In fifteen minutes, Ginko Aoyama would encounter the unknown.
