Returned from Another World, Earth Turned Out to Be Quite the Fantasy Too. Also, Losing Heroines, Stop Looking This Way. - Chapter 30
Chapter 30: “Who Cares About the True Nature of God?” ②
“You think gods are actually aliens?”
“I left the dissection untouched because I wanted to confirm that! If aliens are divine beings, then other gods might rush to the aid of their endangered kin! If that happened, “I can’t help but feel sorry for Nancy, who was almost dissected for such a trivial reason!”
“Wait, the alien is named Nancy!?”
“Ah, shoot.”
Natsuki accidentally let the name slip, and the man noticed it.
At that moment, their eyes met.
“You made eye contact with me!”
“So what?”
“Huh?”
For a moment, the man’s eyes seemed to shimmer suspiciously, but nothing happened.
His confident proclamation of “You made eye contact with me!” had led to an anticlimactic outcome.
“Well, whatever, you can go to sleep now.”
This time, Natsuki adjusted his strength and slammed the man’s face into the floor.
The man lost consciousness and fell silent.
“Hmm, it’s a shame, but I don’t really care if gods are aliens or not. Even if we found out, what difference would it make?”
He remembered watching a video on a streaming site once about how gods in various legends were beings that appeared from space.
He was interested at the time, but after being summoned to a fantasy world, anything seems possible.
He was definitely thrilled and his heart raced at the thought of an encounter with aliens, but hearing theories like gods being aliens kind of kills the excitement.
“In the other world, the demons were pretty humanoid and didn’t have any space elements, huh. Besides, whether the gods of this world are aliens or not, it doesn’t change my life one bit. In fact, meeting Jack and the others is more valuable! Who knows, maybe I could even go on a trip to the moon. I’d love to say something like, ‘Earth wasn’t quite as blue as I thought.'”
After collecting the man’s smartphone, Natsuki unlocked it using fingerprint recognition to make sure he hadn’t messaged anyone about the aliens.
Fortunately, it seemed he hadn’t told anyone.
“Good. This means none of his accomplices will come after us. Just like we destroyed the security cameras, let’s smash the smartphone and everything else around here… let him cry over the repair costs.”
Natsuki then pulled out a rope from the item box and thoroughly tied up the psychics and the ordinary people.
They probably wouldn’t wake up for a while, but he took extra care just in case.
“…Now, the problem is what to do with these guys, well there’s only one place I can rely on.”
Initially, he had thought about destroying the entire facility.
With Natsuki’s power, it was possible to destroy this place without causing damage to the surroundings.
However, doing so would create problems for others tomorrow.
“I’ve really mellowed out,” he murmured to himself as he called Chief Aoyama.
“Ah, hello? It’s me, me. No, it’s not a scam! It’s Natsuki Yura! Well, I need a bit of help… Yes, I’ve made a mess of things. But, please, could you only involve people you really trust, who are tight-lipped? Yes, yes, thanks a lot! I’m counting on you!”
After Natsuki asked his uncle for help with the aftermath, it seemed he had been expecting some sort of trouble from him. However, causing a problem today was apparently unexpected.
Natsuki didn’t intend to cause trouble deliberately.
“Well, I guess I’ll go and tell Jack that I’ve dealt with everything in one fell swoop.”
The moment he lost interest in the psychics and stepped out of the room into the hallway, it happened.
—Swoosh.
He heard a sound like large wings flapping, and at the same time, “someone” appeared at the end of the corridor.
(Whoa, I didn’t sense them coming!?)
Natsuki braced himself, ready to fight, enhancing his magical power as the sound of footsteps approached.
He hadn’t let his guard down since entering the building, but the tension heightened with the presence of “someone” he hadn’t detected.
“What’s this? I felt a strong power and thought I’d kill a demon, but what? Are you human? Ah, what a twisted human. A hybrid, perhaps? Hmm, no, that’s not it. Well, no matter. Don’t quite understand, but killing you should solve the problem!”
The voice was that of a woman.
But she was definitely not human.
She possessed a power different from both magical and psychic energy.
It was something else, bearing a kind of sacredness.
“Consider it an honor to be killed by me. After all, I am Lucifer!”
She was a beautiful girl. Her apparent age seemed around seventeen or eighteen. She looked mature, yet there was a childlike aspect to her.
At first glance, she resembled a tall, slender model. Her legs were long and slim, with a pronounced waistline. Her deep facial features made it clear she wasn’t Japanese.
Her blonde hair, which couldn’t be replicated by bleaching, flowed smoothly down to her waist. She wore slim jeans with knee-high lace-up boots. Over a flashy T-shirt, she draped a worn-out khaki mod coat.
(Wait, did she just say Lucifer!? As in the fallen angel!? Demonic kind!? Does this mean the theory about aliens being gods is true!? But Lucifer isn’t a god, so maybe not? Or, is it an angel? Hmm, a former angel, right!? Ah, this is so confusing! Why does it have to be so complicated!)
While Natsuki was still trying to figure it out, the girl who claimed to be Lucifer spread her pure white wings and kicked off the ground.
In an instant, she was before Natsuki, her fist raised.
“That was fast!”
“You’re just too slow!”
The girl’s fist, aimed at Natsuki’s face, was unleashed.
