Returned from Another World, Earth Turned Out to Be Quite the Fantasy Too. Also, Losing Heroines, Stop Looking This Way. - Chapter 27
Chapter 27: “Isn’t Dissection Too Cruel?” ①
Before they realized it, night had fallen.
Among the twinkling stars in the night sky of Mukaijima city, Natsuki and the alien were riding the bicycle together.
“That’s the facility. My fiancée is there.”
“At first glance, it looks like just an ordinary building. Well, whether it’s aliens or not, those who kidnap aren’t good people. It’s okay to destroy the building, right?”
Purple lightning surged from Natsuki’s body, crackling and ready to burst forth at any moment.
“Please wait, my friend Natsuki. Your power would incinerate my fiancee along with it.”
“I know. But before that, I want to destroy any surveillance cameras and machinery in the building.”
“Leave that to me.”
“Oh, will you do something with space-age technology!?”
“No, just hacking… You look visibly disappointed, my friend.”
Expecting some space-age trick, Natsuki was let down to see the alien simply pulling out something resembling a smartphone and expertly tapping away.
“My friend, my fiancée is held captive on the third floor of that building.”
“What about the cameras?”
“I’ve disabled them all. Past footage is also destroyed.”
“Great. How many people are inside?”
“Five humans without any special powers, and one with powers similar to yours.”
“Looks like it’s going to turn into a psychic battle. I can’t wait!”
“Compared to your power… no, never mind. Let’s hurry and rescue her. My fiancée is beautiful enough to be a Miss Planet contestant. …We must save her before she suffers any indignity.”
“Eh?”
Natsuki couldn’t help but express his surprise.
Fortunately, it seems the alien Jack didn’t hear Natsuki’s voice, preoccupied with concern for his fiancée.
She must be quite a beauty by alien standards.
Although he knows it’s wrong to judge by appearances, the idea still seems implausible.
“Sorry, but I doubt anyone could feel attracted to a grey alien. If anything, I’m more worried about them being dissected.”
“Dissected!? Earthlings truly are terrifying creatures. In the past, when our young ones were caught in Roswell and other places, those unfortunate enough to be captured never returned…”
“Ah, I can’t hear you! I’m not listening to any world secrets!”
Natsuki didn’t want to know about Roswell or anything else.
He wasn’t ready to delve into SF beyond fantasy, nor learn about matters outside Japan.
“Anyway, it’s time for the ‘Rescue the Fiancée’ mission! Are you ready, Jack!?”
“I am!”
“Then, let’s crash in!”
The two, riding a flying bicycle, crashed into the third-floor wall of the “Kappa-Tsuchinoko Research Society” building.
A loud boom echoed, and debris and dust from the broken wall flew around.
Natsuki covered his mouth with his sleeve and flicked his finger.
A magical wind swirled, blowing away the dust.
“Ah, the front wheel of the bicycle is wrecked! Guess we’ll have to make this secret society of Kappa and Tsuchinoko compensate us.”
“It’s a rough situation, but in a way, it’s reassuring. Be careful, Natsuki. There’s one with strange powers.”
“I know. I can feel that power approaching us. But first, let’s find your fiancée. Do you know where she is?”
“…In the next room.”
“Leave it to me!”
Clutching his fist, Natsuki broke through the wall using just a bit of magical power and physical strength.
Not knowing what traps might be inside a facility holding an alien, and to avoid the trouble of politely opening doors in the hallway, breaking through the wall was quicker.
As he entered the next room through the wall, he saw a grey alien lying on a table resembling a surgical bed.
The alien was bound by leather belts at the wrists, ankles, and abdomen, immobilized.
The ordeal must have been harsh. Black eyes shed tears as clear as a human’s.
“Nancy!”
Jack rushed over, attempting to unfasten the belts, which appeared to be locked and difficult to open.
As Natsuki approached, the alien named Nancy showed signs of fear.
“Relax, Nancy. This is Natsuki Yura, a friend from Earth.”
“Hello, I’m Natsuki Yura. A friend of Jack Randock Jasper Williamson Chamber Hanamaki! Nice to meet you!”
Natsuki, smiling, tore off the leather belts.
He realized upon touching them that they were not just any belts, but seemingly made from animal skin coated with blood and ink, probably some sort of Japanese magical tool.
(These people were seriously planning to dissect her. Disgusting!)
Beside the bed where Nancy lay, various tools, including scalpels, were placed.
Relieved they hadn’t been used yet, he watched the alien couple embrace.
At the same time, he resolved to take down everyone involved in this place.
Rodger Smith would’ve been proud
