Natsuki seriously considered amplifying his magical power to escape on his bike. 

It was an unprecedented full-force effort. 

Had he ever thought to use his power to this extent, especially just to flee?

“Mattehoshii, young man. I just want to talk. I promise not to harm you, so Tanomu.”

Its monotone voice seemed somehow urgent, causing Natsuki to pause his pedaling.

“Alright. I’ve made up my mind. Just the fact that you want to talk makes you different from Miyako Minazuki or Anzu Ayakawa.”

“…Arigatou.”

“But remember, if you try anything funny, I’ll cut you up and burn you to a crisp! Don’t do anything weird, okay?”

“Muronda. I won’t harm you since you’ve agreed to listen.”

Natsuki decided to listen to what it had to say.

He was scared, but not uninterested in an alien. 

Even if he were taken aboard a spaceship, he could always resist with all his might if it came to that. 

While being prepared for any battle, he chose to hear it out.

“I came from a distant star for a pre-wedding trip with my fiancée.”

“Pre-wedding trip? Did you just say that?”

“Souda. My fiancée and I have been childhood friends since we were young. We promised each other that we would get married.”

“That sounds like a wonderful childhood friend. I’m kind of jealous.”

“…Arigatou.”

Natsuki had several questions. It was unusual that they chose Earth, specifically Japan, for their pre-wedding trip, and he also thought how nice it must be to have a childhood friend like that. 

He was cautious, expecting another Grey alien to be around since it mentioned a fiancée, but he didn’t sense anyone else.

“Congratulations on your wedding. But why block my way just to tell me this story? Isn’t that a bit strange?”

“It’s a bit complicated. To put it simply, I need your help.”

“Help? Did something happen? Like your spaceship broke down?”

If it was something related to a spaceship, there wasn’t much a middle schooler returnee from another world could do. 

He thought that rushing to a nearby garage might be more helpful.

However, the alien shook its head, which was a little frightening.

“Soudewanai. My fiancée has been captured.”

“Captured?”

Natsuki couldn’t ignore what the alien just said. It continued.

“In this town, a human has abducted my fiancée. They use some strange powers, and while it might seem absurd, if I confront them directly, it could cause problems with the local life forms.”

Natsuki could see the alien’s body trembling slightly. 

He wondered if it was out of sadness, anger, or perhaps a mix of both.

“When I was in trouble, I sensed a very strong power. The human who captured my fiancée seems to possess a different kind of strength. While we’re not allowed to reveal our true forms to the life on this planet, I desperately want to rescue my fiancée.”

“I understand.”

“—Nani?”

“If it’s okay with you, I’ll help.”

“Hontouka?”

“Yeah!”

The Natsuki who had been afraid of the unknown entity was no longer there.

He wanted to help this man who, in desperation, revealed his true identity and wished to save his fiancée. 

It didn’t matter whether it was an alien or a human. 

He admired those who acted for the sake of others.

Casting aside his fear, Natsuki got off his bike and approached the alien, extending his hand.

“My name is Natsuki Yura. Let’s get your fiancée back!”

“—Arigatou, Natsuki Yura.”

The alien, with its long, gray fingers, firmly grasped Natsuki’s hand.
