Returned from Another World, Earth Turned Out to Be Quite the Fantasy Too. Also, Losing Heroines, Stop Looking This Way. - Chapter 15
Chapter 15: “I almost killed her, but I’m not the bad one here, right?” ②
As Miyako fainted and Natsuki sighed wearily, he sensed a presence approaching at a considerable speed.
It was someone with the same spiritual power as Miyako, a psychic.
“―Miyako, are you safe!?”
The person who flew onto the rooftop was a girl slightly older than Natsuki.
The first thing he noticed was her bleached blonde hair.
Then, a choker around her neck, her blouse buttons undone revealing a bit of slackness, wearing a navy skirt, socks, loafers, and a knit wrapped around her waist.
(Ah! A gal! A real-life gal! What do I do, I’ve never talked to one before!)
Whether the term “gal” was appropriate or not, she was a girl with whom Natsuki had never had any connection before.
“W-w-w-who are you?”
“Why are you stuttering? Miyako, you’re okay. Ah! She’s safe. I thought for a moment her spiritual power vanished, and then I felt an impossible magic power, so I thought something had happened.”
(I definitely shouldn’t say I cut her in half!)
It was clear the girl was concerned about Miyako, and Natsuki couldn’t bring himself to admit he almost killed her, nor was there any need to.
After all, there was no guarantee that this girl wouldn’t be as aggressive as Miyako had been.
(I need to be more careful with how much force I use next time.)
Unfortunately, Miyako Minazuki wasn’t very powerful.
She might be somewhat capable in a fight, but at least for Natsuki, she was an insignificant opponent. This wasn’t arrogance but a conclusion drawn from experience. Indeed, she was no match for him.
The female police officer who was a swordsman in the chief’s office seemed far stronger than Miyako Minazuki.
(While it’s latent potential, this gal appears to be superior to Miyako Minazuki… Hmm, maybe she hasn’t fully developed her abilities, or she’s just too underdeveloped.)
Observing the blonde girl, Natsuki harbored such thoughts.
While she might shine if polished, she, like Miyako, wouldn’t pose a challenge right now. There’s no need to even consider a fight.
Taking a deep breath to avoid stuttering, Natsuki asked,
“Are you… related to the Minazuki family, by any chance?”
“Yeah. I’m Mio Minazuki, Miyako’s older sister.”
“So, you’re her sister.”
“…I was told by our mother, the head of the family, to watch over Miyako and ensure she doesn’t do anything rash.”
“But she already did something rash.”
“Sorry. I was supposed to make contact after school, but she never listens to me.”
(So, they’re sisters. No wonder their powers feel similar. But, hmm, this one seems a bit… off?)
While feeling a sense of incongruity with Mio, who claimed to be Miyako’s sister, Natsuki decided to proceed with the conversation.
Given her presence here, she likely knew about the incident that had already occurred. The hasty use of “Heal” and the careless expenditure of magical power meant it wouldn’t be surprising if she had detected it.
If Mio was aware, it’s possible the Minazuki family already knew as well.
(Now, what to do? I’m not interested in the Minazuki family, but I’m a bit curious about psychic powers. Plus, if there’s a way to make use of them, it might be worth considering.)
Natsuki was not particularly skilled in rhetoric or negotiation. However, having a psychic family as a support in Japan might be beneficial for a comfortable life.
If the girls sent as messengers were of this level, it’s likely that their mother, the head of the family, wouldn’t be much of an issue either.
While it wasn’t his preference, he considered the possibility of using force as a threat.
If a weapon from another world could resolve matters, like with the female police officer, that would be acceptable.
“For now, a question. Do you intend to be hostile?”
“No. The Minazuki family has zero intention of hostility. So, I truly apologize for Miyako’s rash actions. I’ll suggest that she be appropriately punished.”
“Then, let’s leave it at that. How did the Minazuki family find out about me? Even if it’s because I used my power in the morning, isn’t it too quick for the family to act?”
If Miyako acted on her own, unrelated to the Minazuki family, that would make sense.
However, it was too soon for the Minazuki family to have the head’s daughter contact Natsuki.
Chief Aoyama mentioned not reporting to “The Institute,” a collective for psychic matters, indicating a duty of confidentiality, yet the connection with ancient clans remains unbroken. Perhaps someone within the police had communicated, revealing his identity. Still, it was too quick.
Natsuki wondered whether they were overly confident in their power or if there was another reason for their haste.
“The power and lightning from this morning, I noticed it too. But Mama noticed something different.”
“Eh?”
“Last evening, you―you used an incredible power.”
(Did I use any power?)
“Ah, yes! That thing I tried unconsciously! So, it was that strong! I just did it casually!”
Natsuki recalled using magic casually before dinner, not expecting that such a casual use of magical power would be detected by local psychics.
“I don’t really understand, but neither Miyako nor I, nor any other psychics in our family felt anything. Only Mama and her guards were able to sense your power.”
“So that was it! I got busted because of that!”
Your power was too strong for us to recognize. Hey, are you really that powerful?”
Mio’s questioning voice sounded more expectant than confirming.
Natsuki, with a proud face, replied,
“Yes, well. I’m super strong, you know?”
〜〜Afterword〜〜
Finally, the heroine (candidate) makes her appearance!

yeahi wouldn’t mind if mio is a heroine candidate
Not a bad mindset considering what he went through. Although it does feel sudden its more satisfying his curiosity if there is no malice or aren’t much of threat to him.
