Chapter 50 Situation commentary by a low-class demon
“I see. So, it seems the Saint and Ein have finally begun their journey towards the Borderland Margrave’s territory…”
Two days have passed since the so-called pseudo-demons, the Demon Army’s Three Demon Generals, went on a rampage.
While preparing for the upcoming events and staying in the Holy Kingdom, I had finished gathering information from the scattered Mini-Kakyu’s and was summarizing my overall analysis.
Considering the countless issues and detailed situations occurring worldwide, I’ll omit those, but primarily, there are four main concerns that have become significant around Ars:
Firstly, the Borderland Margrave’s territory issue.
Secondly, the matter concerning Saint Isha-chan.
Furthermore, the Hades family’s departure issue.
And finally, the future issue regarding the demon tribe.
Regarding the first issue, thanks to the pseudo-demons’ actions, it’s practically resolved already. However, since it wasn’t openly celebrated as an event for the children, Zalug, the Borderland Margrave who is still unaware of its resolution, must still be troubled.
However, the covert actions that have been undertaken serve the personal agenda of the Borderland Margrave, who prioritizes attributing achievements to the Saint while avoiding unnecessary exposure to danger. So, I intend to let him endure the discomfort for a while longer. This was an inevitable consequence of me working behind the scenes.
However, since the mock battle between Ars and Ein, which was scheduled for today, has been canceled, Ars, who is curious about the reason, will likely head towards the Borderland Margrave’s territory to follow his friends. If that happens, it would naturally create an opportunity for me to meet with Zalug, the Margrave, and inform him confidentially that the issue has been resolved.
Well, the first matter seems to be flowing smoothly now.
Now, regarding the second issue concerning Saint Isha-chan:
Primarily based on my experiential insights, she stands at a crossroads where her usefulness to the Holy Kingdom is being evaluated.
Certainly, her healing magic is outstanding, and when combined with her title, she is undoubtedly a valuable asset. However, if, as it appears, even the Holy Knights and practitioners of sacred magic couldn’t breach the barrier, then if her powers prove ineffective here, it will undoubtedly cause ripples beneath the surface. The trust in the Holy Kingdom would plummet, and the very credibility of the Saint as a force capable of countering the demon tribe would be questioned.
Worst-case scenario, if even the power of the Saint proves ineffective against the formidable might of the demon tribe, it might incite fear among agitators, potentially leading to internal strife.
Of course, I must emphasize that this is merely speculation based on experience. However, it doesn’t seem far-fetched.
Certainly, Saint Isha-chan is still just ten years old. Despite her potential for growth during this developmental phase, humans are not so easily satisfied. Whether she can achieve success here is undoubtedly a pivotal juncture.
“Well, I’m sure Isha-chan and Ein-kun are well aware of such matters…”
Despite her mischievous appearance, Saint Isha-chan is actually quite clever. Judging from the emotional fluctuations reflected in my Devil Eyes, it seems she herself understands this and is acting accordingly, demonstrating a sense of determination in knowing that this is a mission of significant responsibility.
Surely, she’s striving to become a woman worthy of her admired Ars and the one she trusts more than anyone, Ein.
She must believe she can’t stumble at a place like this.
Hang in there, little saint; we’re rooting for you.
Next up is the issue of Hades running away from home, but this one is shrouded in mystery.
Firstly, I don’t know much about the demon realm in this world or the existence of the Demon Lord who rules over it, nor have I ever met him in person.
The situation changes considerably based on why Hades’ father, as well as the other demons around, are allowing their crown prince to run away from home.
However, there’s no discernible malice in Hades himself; rather, he’s like a happy-go-lucky who’s intoxicated daily by Ars’ handsome aura, rendering his brain a bit mushy.
As for his personality, he’s fundamentally earnest and hardworking, albeit with a slight air of superiority, but that doesn’t mean he’d harm others needlessly because of it.
Well, for now, we can probably say there’s no problem.
“Now, regarding the issue of the demon tribe… It’s already too late. All I see in the future is a conflict with humanity.”
I feel bad for Hades, the Demon Prince, but it’s really too late.
Reports from Mini-Kakyu scattered worldwide indicate that the demons lurking on the surface regard humans as nothing more than pests or food.
While peace has persisted for a while due to the influence of past heroes defeating the Demon Lord, at this point, even if there’s some semblance of balance, beings with such ideologies won’t remain quiet.
They’re not seeking dialogue with humanity, and humanity isn’t in a position to be conciliatory toward predators.
In other words, war is inevitable.
It’s a stalemate, plain and simple.
Either the demons perish, or humanity does. Or perhaps one representative from either side falls, dealing a decisive blow. There seems to be no other resolution.
“But, there’s no way I can tell these things to the children… What should I do…”
My son, Ars, quite likes Hades and trusts him a lot. And on the other hand, despite being the demon prince, Hades surprisingly has a sense of understanding toward humanity and, above all, has developed feelings of love toward Ars.
To convey to such individuals that there’s nothing more we can do for them… It’s just impossible.
I’m really at a loss…
“Well, for now, let’s shelf this issue. After all, while my abilities may be versatile, they’re certainly not all-knowing. Until we find a way forward, let’s continue with diligent investigation…”
With that resolve, I closed my eyes and decided to take a nap until Elsa Mama came to wake me up, thus concluding my decision.
