“Merle-san, what’s the situation?”

“There’s one large Crazy Boar and a small one. Probably a mother and child. They are peacefully eating grass now.”

Crazy Boars were large wild boars that ate almost anything. They were known to raid farms and, more importantly, their charges could easily kill a person.

“Thank you, Merle-san. In that case, it’s best to take them down at the same time. There’s nothing scarier than an angry mother… I’ll shoot the child with my bow. Merle, please finish it off quickly. Let the guys handle the bigger one.”

“Well, that seems reasonable. Thor, I’m going to need you to cover me. Once we have an opening, I’ll handle it.”

“Understood, leave it to me. It’s better to take it down before it charges.”

“That’s right. Now, we’ll go around and approach from the other side. We’ll execute our plan when you give the signal.”

“Got it.”

Having made their plan, they split into two groups and started their actions. Thor and I monitored the Crazy Boars from the shadows of the grass.

The Crazy Boar was huge, with a body length of over two meters, an unprecedented size in their previous world.

“Alex, are you ready with your energy?”

“I’m fine. I’ve been… ugh, training with my father recently.”

“Right, I forgot about that. I need to go say hello as well… Well, is it time?”

“Probably.”

Just as I thought about the h*llish training I went through I heard a “whoosh” sound, then I saw an arrow piercing the child boar.

“Kugh—?!”

The arrow seemed to have hit its body, and the pain made it start thrashing around. The mother boar noticed and was distracted.

“Thor! We have a moment to strike!”

“Got it!”

Thor and I readied ourselves and closed the distance with the boars. I concentrated the nascent energy in my legs and reached the boars in an instant.

Thor’s spear pierced the front leg of the boar, making it lose its balance.

“Sorry, but I’ll make it quick and painless.”
