Chapter 22: The Demon of the Labyrinth
The Labyrinth of the Abyss
In the game, the moment you entered this dungeon, a cutscene would play. The dungeon’s name would appear on-screen in bold letters, complete with English subtitles—The Labyrinth of the Abyss.
That scene came rushing back to me from my past life—every detail of this dungeon etched into my memory.
I followed Ars into the dungeon.
He and his party opened one of the nearby doors and stepped into the first safe zone—a small, enclosed room. I waited until they shut the door behind them… then summoned a small light with magic and headed toward the deepest part of the labyrinth, taking the most direct route.
This dungeon only had five floors, so depth-wise it was on the shallow side.
But in terms of scale?
Massive.
The ceilings were unbelievably high, the width and length stretched out so far you’d think an entire mid-sized city could fit inside. It was hard to believe this kind of space existed underground.
The third floor, in particular, looked like a deserted village. With its eerie buildings lined up under the faint glow of magical lights, the view from the hilltop was haunting—and strangely beautiful.
And here’s the kicker: starting from the second floor, every single monster you encounter is female-shaped.
Completely naked.
With huge, jiggling breasts swaying with every step.
In the game, of course, the naughty bits were all covered with pixelated mosaics.
Sadly, though… the developers didn’t implement any interactive scenes with the monster girls. No “special events,” no hidden dialogue—nothing.
It ended up being one of the few game elements that hardcore monster girl fans clung to for dear life.
But the world in front of me now wasn’t a game.
These weren’t polygons. These monsters were real.
They wandered the dungeon in the shape of beautiful women, skin flawless and fully exposed.
Which… made fighting them emotionally exhausting.
If they were undead, that’d be a whole different story. But this? This felt way too real.
I kept [Perception Disruption★] active as I made my way toward the deepest part of the dungeon.
Since none of the monsters could detect me, it was honestly kind of boring.
And when you’ve got nothing to do… your mind tends to wander.
I was supposed to die at seventeen.
But now, here I was—still alive. And following almost the exact same path as Sidol did in the game.
I escaped to Bahamul, leveled up in a dungeon, learned [Summoning Magic] in the elven forest.
Karen had already made it to the royal capital. And right now, Ars was just about to clear Violation of Eternia II.
The big differences? Ivelia was still alive… and Sophie never joined Ars’s party.
I’d managed to keep my distance from Ars the entire time.
And that’s the plan—from now until the end.
I’ll follow the story as closely as I can… until the final confrontation. When I take the throne, and Ars comes for me, calling me a traitor.
That moment—when the story demands my death—I’m going to choose differently.
I’m going to live.
Even if… that choice ends up costing someone else their life.
Just thinking about that weighed on me.
But walking through a dungeon with no one to talk to was painfully dull.
Might as well hurry to the safe zone outside the final boss room.
Sick of all my overthinking, I picked up the pace and rushed to the fifth floor.
◆
Fifth floor.
I arrived at the room right in front of the final boss.
The last boss of this dungeon was a demon named Val Yebul—a self-proclaimed Archdemon.
In the game, his level was set at 45. His stats were really high, sure—but that didn’t mean he was especially difficult.
By the time players reached him, they were usually in their mid-50s anyway, having spent time exploring or goofing around with NPCs.
When I saw Ars earlier at the dungeon entrance, he was only level 43.
That might make this fight pretty tough for him.
But with Eliza, Elmia, and Nana—all of whom were level 50 or higher when they joined his party—they should be able to carry him through.
I opened the door to a small chamber just before the boss room and stepped inside.
It was a safe zone.
In the game, this was also the save point—the place where players could manually save their progress.
If you wiped out or got a game over during the boss fight, you’d automatically respawn right here.
Since it only existed as a game mechanic, I’d never actually seen one with my own eyes until now. But seeing it like this… it was oddly beautiful.
It gave off a warm, gentle glow and even acted as a light source inside the room.
Save points and checkpoints like this were scattered throughout dungeons in the game, but they only ever appeared when the protagonist advanced the story. Which meant this was the very first one I’d ever laid eyes on.
In-game, you’d manually save at numbered save points in dungeons like this. Checkpoints, on the other hand, functioned more like autosaves that kicked in after hitting a major story beat.
Not that any of that mattered to me now.
Still, I figured this was the perfect place to wait.
So I decided to settle in and wait for Ars and the others to reach this floor.
(So I’ll be staying here for about three days… huh.)
The room was surprisingly nice.
There was a full kitchen setup—complete with ingredients, for some reason.
Even the beds—six of them—looked soft and cozy. It was a strange little space.
(Might as well try using [Summoning Magic] while I’ve got nothing else to do.)
I focused on the fire element and summoned a spirit.
Flaming red hair. Crimson eyes.
Curvy body with a big chest and a round butt, plus a narrow waist.
She was a woman.
“Finally. Took you long enough to summon me.”
She stood just a little shorter than me.
If it weren’t for her bright red coloring, she could easily pass for a human.
“I’m surprised. You look almost human.”
“Hahaha! I’m a spirit called Salamander!”
Unlike Dryads, who use multiple elements and drain MP like crazy, she barely consumed any magic at all.
It felt like I could keep her summoned indefinitely.
She introduced herself proudly—and as she puffed out her chest, those big breasts bounced dramatically.
“Bit much for a human to handle, huh? You can touch them if you want. You’re curious, right?”
She emphasized her chest playfully, but I just placed my hand on her head instead.
“You’re… not hot?”
I’d half-expected her to feel like a walking fireball, but that wasn’t the case at all.
Curious, I touched her forehead—felt completely normal, just like a regular person.
“Oh, come on. You could’ve been a bit more passionate, you know. I wouldn’t have minded.”
With a teasing grin, she lit a flame at her fingertip.
“Wait… that isn’t magic?”
But… I didn’t feel any magic energy at all.
The flame was clearly there, flickering from her finger—yet there was no trace of mana.
“Spirits don’t need magic like humans or monsters do. We directly manipulate mana themselves. No magic energy required.”
So that’s how it worked.
I had no idea.
I always thought spirits used magic energy like everyone else, but apparently, that wasn’t the case.
“Still, it’s so much easier to start fires when I’m near you, Master. See? I can control them perfectly like this.”
Salamander leaned in with that curvy body of hers, pressing against me.
She felt warm and soft—just like a real person.
“Hehe? What’s wrong? Wanna do it?”
Whoa, whoa, whoa—nope! Not happening!
I mean, come on, that’s way too forward. Passionate much?
Of course, I didn’t say any of that out loud.
I just sat there, stunned, watching her effortlessly shape and control the flames while clinging to me.
After playing around with Salamander for a while, I gave wind-element [Summoning Magic] a shot.
The wind spirit was Sylph—another female form.
Then I tried water, and got Undine—also female.
Earth summoned a Gnome, who appeared as male… but I’d heard female forms existed too.
So I tried again—and this time, I got Gnomeed, the feminine version.
I summoned spirits for all the base elements—fire, earth, wind, and water (leaving out light and dark for now)—and every one of them manifested in a near-physical form. I could talk with them normally.
And yet, despite their presence being so real… they barely emitted any magical energy at all.
They were strange beings—vivid, tangible, and alive, but with hardly any trace of mana.
From chatting with the spirits, I also learned something new:
[Summoning Magic] could eventually call forth divine beasts—[Sacred Beasts]—as well.
But to summon one of those, I’d need a much higher skill level and character level to match.
The final boss of Violation of Eternia II was a demon.
That meant I should try summoning a light-element spirit…
But I ended up spending so much time talking and experimenting with the other spirits, I ran out of time before I could get around to it.
(Magic energy!)
[Magic Detection★] kicked in instantly.
I sensed the presence of both humans and monsters using magic on this floor. They were in the middle of a battle.
That confirmed it—Ars and his party had finally reached the final floor.
I quickly equipped my gear and stepped out of the safe zone.
I approached the large double doors separating the hallway from the boss chamber, gave them a push, and stepped inside.
–––Rumble…
The doors slammed shut behind me.
(Of course they did. Classic boss room entrance.)
The chamber was pitch-black, not a single ray of light in sight.
Well, may as well do this properly. Time to try summoning a light-element spirit.
『Master! Thank you for calling on me! You’d like some light, correct?』
A Will-o’-the-Wisp appeared—and just having him around immediately lit up the room.
Since he wasn’t humanoid, it felt like he was speaking directly into my mind.
The newly illuminated room revealed a towering figure seated on a throne at the far end… watching me.
“Welcome—to my abyss.“
The man stood up dramatically, throwing out his arms wide.
He was nearly two meters tall, his cloak billowing as he welcomed me like some grand host.
───
Name: Val Yebul
Gender: Male Age: Unknown
Race: Archdemon Level: 45
───
“I am Val Yebul! Human! You’ve done well to make it this far. I shall reward your efforts!”
His magic power surged, the pressure alone shaking the entire dungeon.
If I were anyone else, that kind of raw force might’ve made my skin crawl.
He raised his hand—and launched a burst of dark-element magic.
It looked like a status effect spell meant to kill instantly.
But with our level gap so wide, it had zero effect on me.
“What?! It didn’t work?!”
This wasn’t even a real fight.
The level gap was just too big for it to be anything close to life-or-death.
I activated [Summoning Magic★].
Light burst out all around me, flooding the chamber.
The Will-o’-the-Wisp I’d summoned earlier was still floating nearby, casting his steady glow.
And then—an Exsia, a Thrones-class angel.
When I used [Appraisal★], it showed:
Level 70. Gender: Unknown.
『By your command, I shall smite this demon.』
Val Yebul vanished into a storm of divine light.
One shot. Instant kill.
Now that’s a level 70 for you.
『My task is complete.』
The angel disappeared almost immediately after.
And it took a huge chunk of my magic with it.
MP: 9,640 / 15,140
So unlike spirits, summoning angels really burns through your magic.
Now I had to wonder—what would happen if I tried summoning something way beyond my level or max MP?
If it were a demon instead of an angel… would it just kill me on the spot?
With the demon lord gone, the dungeon’s final room fell quiet.
I made my way to the chamber behind the throne.
There it was—a treasure chest.
I used [Appraisal★] to check for traps—none. Then used my [Lockpicking: 8] skill to open it.
Inside was the item I’d been chasing all this time—
[Skill Crystal: Hypnosis★]
A shimmering crystal, glowing with a soft, hypnotic light.
I picked it up and channeled magic into it.
As I did, glittering particles of light spread from my palm—then vanished with a soft whoosh.

With this, Ars should no longer be able to obtain any of the skills that let him charm women at will.
And even if he could, it would have to be after the main storyline of the Violation of Eternia series had ended.
What happens to Ars after he defeats me and becomes king… that, I’ll never know.
I mean, let’s be real—it’s an eroge.
It wasn’t exactly built around noble politics or moral dilemmas. It was just… constant lewd stuff.
No side quests, no optional content, just pure adult adventure.
Now that I’d absorbed the Skill Crystal and calmed down a bit, [Presence Detection★] alerted me—Ars and his party had just arrived outside the boss room.
Nothing left here for me.
I activated [Perception Disruption★] and headed to the door.
The plan was simple: wait for them to open it—then slip out quietly before they even realized I’d been there.
“The monsters are gone, but there’s nothing in here either.”
“This feels like the boss room, though. Weird.”
“Maybe someone was already here?”
“Could be the boss self-destructed… or maybe there was never anything here in the first place?”
The girls chatted one after another, following behind Ars.
At the back of the group, I caught sight of Elmia.
Right—she’s not a virgin anymore.
I’d assumed Ars had completely broken her in during this dungeon, but… judging by her face, she wasn’t totally head over heels.
Guess without any special charm skills, he couldn’t get her fully obsessed. She just looked… mildly attached.
Once I confirmed all five of them were safe, I slipped away without a sound.
On the way out, I even passed a few kingdom soldiers, but no one noticed me.
With the monsters all gone, I quietly exited the Abyssal Labyrinth without a hitch.
After clearing the dungeon, I spent the next few days making my way back toward the Lost Woods—but then…
“Welcome back, Sidol.”
Ivelia was already there, waiting to greet me.
Apparently, I’d skipped the whole forest entirely.
“I’m back… Wait, I thought this was the middle of the Lost Woods. How did I end up at the base of the World Tree?”
“Fufufu. Surprised, aren’t you? I found a way to interfere with the forest using [Spirit Magic], so I thought I’d give it a try.”
She grinned proudly—and honestly, it was kind of adorable.
“Kukuku… Ivelia has quite the talent for Spirit Magic.”
Just then, Queen Celebres emerged from behind her, smiling as she joined us.
“Welcome back, Sidol. I wasn’t worried or anything… but it seems you did exactly what needed to be done.”
“Yes. It was all thanks to you.”
“From the way you carry yourself, I take it you’re getting used to [Summoning Magic]? The spirits around you are practically dancing with joy.”
“I actually tried summoning an angel in the Abyssal Labyrinth. Not just spirits.”
“You summoned an angel?! Careful with that! If your level or MP isn’t high enough, summoning an angel or demon with [Summoning Magic] can get your soul eaten. A long time ago, many royal consorts who tried it paid with their lives. If you plan to summon Sacred Beasts or angels again, make sure you’re strong enough first. Don’t you dare die before I get to see you again.”
Wait, what do you mean “before I get to see you again”?
Just as I was puzzling over that, Ivelia slid up beside me and wrapped herself around my arm.
“I won’t be handing Sidol over to anyone, you know?”
“Hahaha! I’m not taking him from you. I’m just asking for a little piece, that’s all. Just a little. Besides—don’t forget our pact, Ivelia.”
“O-Of course! I remember. Absolutely.”
“Good. It’s still not the right time… but someday, I’ll come visit.”
“I’ll be waiting. Always.”
Then one of Celebres’s attendants arrived, carrying several bags and handing them over to Ivelia.
Looked like they’d packed up everything for our journey.
It was time to move on.
“If you head north from here and walk a little, you’ll reach the Dwarven Kingdom of Moria. I’ve already sent word ahead—just give your name at the gate, and someone will escort you to the capital.”
No rest for the weary—it was time to set out on the next journey.
That said, if it meant getting back to Bahamul sooner, I wasn’t going to complain.
“Thank you for everything, Your Majesty.”
Ivelia gave a graceful curtsy and expressed her thanks.
“Oh, come now. You can just call me by name. I see you as a dear friend, Ivelia. There’s no need to be so formal.”
“It’s just… with everyone from the village watching, I didn’t want to overstep…”
“Hmm, fair enough. I suppose that makes sense. Anyway—Sidol.”
Celebres stepped forward as she called my name.
“This… is something special.”
She gently pulled my head toward her—and stole a kiss.
Her lips locked onto mine, and then her tongue slid in, swirling deep inside my mouth.
It didn’t last long, but it was intense.
Ivelia, standing beside us, looked very unamused.
“Haah… Sidol, your mana really is delicious.”
It had been a powerful kiss—not just emotionally, but magically too.
I felt a wave of strong energy being pushed into me.
“This is…?”
“Looks like you felt it. Good. I trust you’ll make proper use of it.”
She gave my cheek a light, lingering touch before stepping back to rejoin her attendants.
After saying a few final words, we left the Elven village.
We exited from the same place we entered—but somehow, we ended up at the northern edge of the forest.
Right in front of us stood the towering gates of the Dwarven Kingdom—Moria.
Just before passing through the checkpoint, I took one last look at my skill list.
[Limit Break★]
That was the parting gift from Celebres.
